The Konkan Region of Maharashtra is distinguished from the rest of Maharashtra state by virtue of its distinct agroclimatic conditions, soil types, topography. As such, the problems in agriculture and allied sectors are entirely different from the other parts of Maharashtra. Due to this uniqueness, the Government of Maharashtra established Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapith on the 18th May, 1972 to impart education, conduct research on location specific problems and disseminate the improved crop production technologies amongst the farming community.
Located in the small town of Dapoli in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra 215 Kilometres away from Mumbai is well connected with rest of the country by Railways and Road. Nearest Railway Station is Khed!

I dont understand how this university works. All colleges affiliated to this are really of no sense. Poor staffing poor services facilities are key points. How can dapoli university allow these kind of approvals? ???? Future Students your degrees are of no use.

Wonderful place.Here you can get all types of plants like different types of mango plants, also Masala plants and other fruit, flower trees in minimum price. The University campus is very nice as well as it placed at Dapoli which nearer to coastal area.Really, nice place for one day trip.....

Beautiful location...You can see there ...variety of plants...Nice campus area...A must visit place during mango season...Near to coastal of Arabian sea..You can enjoy nearby beaches...

Huge campus, we went to visit the plant nursery no.4 and 10.
One can buy hybrid plants of various varieties at concessional rates from these nurseries.
Please visit with a private vehicle if possible as the campus is huge and the two nurseries are located at a distance of atleast 1km from each other.
The navigation is tricky so it is better to ask locals for help!
