Museu do Índio
Where the preservation of indigenous culture is taken seriously and the ethnographic heritage is treated with competence and responsibility.
Guys, one more warning: the Indian Museum is closed for renovations. I was there this afternoon, January 24, and I was informed that opening for visitation is planned for the end of February. They say that the delay in reform is due to the issue of transfer of funds. Then that's it. (Disregard the three-star rating.)
Look forward to it so much but it s closed until June 2020 for construction :(((
July 2017: STILL CLOSED - do NOT rely on the website, which apparently they have not updated, and which lists opening times!
Wonderful. It is worth going to know. Incredible collection.
The place is beautiful!!! I could have more incentives.
The Indian Museum has been closed for more than a year and Google maps informs that it is open. I went there for nothing.
It's very good !!!!. Has anyone ever been in this place ?????
Excellent place, worth being closed for visitation. More will open this year.
It is closed. There is no online warning, talking about how it works!
Unfortunately, today it was closed to the public. "And nobody knew how to give information.
Because it is my place of work, and above all a great environment.
A beautiful place with vital information about the people that inhabited this Brazil before it was called that. Worth checking out.
The shows are extremely didactic, well designed and rich. The museum staff is trained, qualified, and always very kind. The space is beautiful - an old mansion reminiscent of the early 20th century, which withstood the weather. Too bad the canteen is not working, and parking on the street is very difficult.
A beautiful and wonderful place. Happy people's place.
The museum is closed. Unable to visit it. It had invasion and depredation. The site is not updated .. and a pity !!!!.
Very beautiful and instructive the museum, beautiful pictures, the attendants are to be congratulated
Closed to the public despite the indications of the site and sign on the premises
It must be good but the 6 years is closed without being able to visit, I hope that President Bolsona of the funds for the retirement account fire !!
I was already in my student days, it's awesome !!!!! Now I am planning to take my students !!!!
The space is very good. The Micangas exhibition was wonderful, bringing art from the indigenous peoples of Brazil and several other countries. The richness of details and the quality of the exhibits left me enchanted. I can't wait for the next events. Highlight for the shop, with products for all tastes and pockets.
Beautiful samples of clothing and jewelry of indigenous groups of Brazil. Very interesting videos. Only in Portuguese, but I was assisted by a very helpful staff person, and I was able to understand a lot with my limited Spanish. I was particularly interested in the video on beads in various cultures and how Africans made beads from recycled glass. Excellent air conditioning
Unfortunately the visit is closed. The place looks beautiful but I could not see the interior
Very good. I worked there And I'm looking for someone who has worked in simone
Excellent place .. He is preparing to reopen soon. Stay tuned.
Closed to the public until an indefinite date. No information on the site. It's bitching to come for nothing
Main floor was closed. (Till end of 2014). But the temporary exhibition on the ground floor was absolutely worth the trip.
With Bolsonaro president they closed it to the publi
Museum open daily. Place has cafes and places to study
Interesting, nice little garden in the jungle of Botafogo cars.
Nice place, know about our indians... but should beter organized.
An interesting museum, but at the moment it is closed for visitation awaiting a tender to be opened to the public, it is expected to open in February 2018
Everything is cool, the space, the hollow, the canoes ..... Right in the south! Too bad it's closed!
It was a real disappointment! The official website gives visiting hours and opening days. We arrived but we could not visit it because it is closed and it is not known when it will reopen.
It has been closed for over a year for lack of release from the fire department.
Very average museum - modern, but with small expositions in a 2 storey building..
It is temporarily closed to public for work in progress!
Perfect reception ... From the treatment to the space the exhibits ... It is worth knowing
Place closed. I did not tell the institution's website that the museum is under construction. I went there for nothing
The Indian Museum promotes great activities and usually has interesting exhibitions. Without a doubt, a place that deserves to be visited and explored.
Wonderful space to know the history of Brazil, sorry to be closing.
The place is well taken care of and the people who attend it are of an odd education. They are attentive, polite and helpful. Every year I go there, the place is more cozy and remains very well treated
