The permanent exhibition could receive a small facelift.
Always interesting exhibitions that make the pass with the stakes of the present
An interesting museum but fairly small and thus pricy if visited without a Swiss Museum Pass or on the first Saturday of the month when admission is free. Other museums in the larger Lake Geneva region covers Roman history in Switzerland far more extensive.
Very interesting, also recommended for high school.
A small, well organized museum that starts at the beginning of life on Earth. I have studied timelines before but the innovative display here was exciting and powerful. The education about how layers of debris are excavated and studied set the stage for the actual artifacts inside, then you walk around the actual Roman ruins. You can touch them and stand in the quiet garden imagining the lives of the many generations who have been exactly there before you.
Really cool! The exhibition "too much is too much"
really great !
Always beautiful temporary exhibitions, well done and inventive and often very funny
This new theme "the highlight" for the temporary exhibition does not disappoint. L.F. does not shrink from taboo and we enjoy to see mixed humor with the sacred! Bravo!
Super museum, not pretentious, and especially not boring, all ages find their account!
The temporary exhibitions are at the top, offbeat and serious at the same time, and the themes treated with a lot of humor.
The permanent exhibition includes beautiful models (modeling of Lousonna and the different populations having lived there over the years). There are also the unmistakable period objects reconstituted, with a parallel made with our company ... Although it is true that the illustrations chosen deserved to be put back a little up to date!
The garden and nice too with its tall pines.
Whether you are passing through or a curious local, I recommend!
I would give 4 out of 5 if I knew french, or texts in english were put next to exposition items. Summer time the room is really hot.
Je recommande fortement:
Trop c'est trop!
Exposition temporaire du 4 mars 2017 au 7 janvier 2018
I haven't visited its interior yet, but it looks promising. In terms of assets, I don't know if it will be at the level, for example, of a museum like the one in "Aventicum".
Small, friendly
"May the best win"
Great small exhibition. The temporary exhibition about winning is more than awesome!!!
Interesting visit. The museum is smaller than I expected. It is all in French.
Very interesting, nice for a Sunday. The very warm welcoming girl
Recommendable!
A really excellent museum, the temporary exhibition (Hybris) is a bit short, but extremely attractive and interesting! The "constant" exhibition is also very well organized and interesting to watch. The staff is simply perfect, the gentleman at the cash desk is also really interesting (Do not hesitate to ask him a few questions, because he will have enough to answer all your questions).
The price is also really correct for this museum!
Very nice place even if with cheating friends we lost a lot of points
Each exhibition is complete and interactive, very good museum
Exhibitions well done, and especially very current!
It's rather...
Spartan
Modern but very small museum that shows the archaeological remains of the Roman Empire in the city of Lausanne. Interesting detail: A long, green cord represents the time from the creation of the earth to the present day. The time interval between events is shown as a distance on the cord. This helps to improve the imagination for long periods.
In the entrance area there are always changing special exhibitions on topics that have nothing to do with archeology but are worth seeing (included in the admission price). In the basement there is a cloakroom, lockers and toilets. Unfortunately no parking spaces for museum visitors.
Each exhibition, although sometimes rather short, revolves around a theme by deploying it well. I am thinking in particular of the exhibition on the nail or that on the competition. The reception is nice and smiling, good introduction.
Very interesting and pleasant museum to visit. The permanent exhibition is not very large but is effective and gives a very good overview of the daily life of Gallo-Romans in the region.
Very good experience! A perfectly arranged museum in a magnificent building. The welcome is very professional and warm, and we are fully informed about the prices and the content of the visit. The permanent exhibition is not very large, but extremely well explained for all types of public and well presented.
A real favorite, especially as the visit to the museum can be added to the discovery of the archaeological site which is very well preserved and very clean.
Very nice museum, informative for people who are interested in Roman times
I love this museum near the lake. The exhibitions are interesting
Hubris exhibition fun, uplifting and disturbing. Go for it !!!
The exhibits inside are impressive but outside........meh
Roman artifacts are interesting but the real fun are the temporary exhibitions, always amazing.
Small museum, Roman history of Lausanne and more. Exhibition on games and competition in the image of the competitive society.
Good reception and ancient garden.
Take the bus 1 from the Lausanne train station until you reach the terminus and walk towards Geneva along the road, then signposted on the left.
Current temporary exhibition (Hybris, if I remember the name correctly) is remarkable. A teaching colleague made the same observation. A previous temporary exhibition (Taupe level) was also remarkable.
Very nice museum on Roman history and lakeside peoples
Good exhibitions are not always expensive. The proof at the Roman museum of Vidy.
