There is such a variety of strengths among the doctors and services they offer. Their menu ranges from natural medicine and diet, to high tech surgery and medications. Called and they were able to work me in same day with my dog Jagger. She needed updated vaccines and they were right in line with prices from NC. They were so friendly and Jagger couldn t stop wagging her tail every time one of them walked in. Looks like I have found a new Vet in SC.

I called called Murrells Inlet Veterinary Hospital as my dog Maya needed emergency surgery due to a Uterine infection called Pyometra. I was a new client for them and I had no appointment. They said I may have to wait a while to be seen. I waited about 45 minutes to an hour. They examined her and said that her surgery could not wait till tomorrow. They handled the surgery and she was home by 7:30 pm and she is returning to normal. The way they treated me from the moment I walked through their front door and approached the counter desk was amazing. I felt like I was in a law office and not a hospital. They clearly have a protocol that is effective and soothing and before I was called to bring Maya into the exam room I was spoken to by 3 different people, all of them with a defined job to do. This is the best run hospital I have ever seen. They did not overcharge. Trying to convey without sounding tacky. The bill was less than half of what others wanted to charge for the same. I will never go anywhere else again. Thank You MIVH for saving Maya's life. Great things are happening there.
The staff was courteous, prompt and efficient when we first arrived. It was our first time visiting and we were made to feel welcome and comfortable, even with the plans they have in place due to the COVID-19 virus. The technicians were very pleasant and informational. We saw Dr. Valerie today.

One of the worst things that can happen is your pet to get sick while you are on vacation. Fortunately I found this vets office and Dr. Megan was awesome. She made me feel comfortable from the beginning and let me know what options I had for treatment. I ended up leaving my baby girl there overnight to get fluids in her with an IV. Dr. Megan on her day off check in with the office to see how she was doing and to confer with the the doctor that was working with my dog. That's definitely dedication.
All I can say is that if it would not have been for Dr. Bruce our precious almost 8 year old Labrador Bear would not be with.us. He was diagnosed with the Addison Disease 5 years ago, Dr. Bruce figured out the right dosage and Bear is living very happy. Dr. Bruce is one of those rare Veterinarians who loves what he does and his gentleness and caring is unsurpassed, we are very grateful to have him taking care of our Bear.

Professional, care for Mickey our cat, gave details to what is and what can be, gave specifics of his health, concerned for our feeling as we decided to end His suffering and put him down. As we were upset, escorted us out the back not to walk threw the front and other people. Did not discuss the bill as we were very upset to leave Mickey. They new our hurt and were very compassionate. My dog,Penny loves Dr Valerie! The ladies who work here are all very professional and caring. I like the fact that they allow me to be with my dog at all times. She recently had an ultrasound done and Dr Bruce allowed me to be in the room and he explained everything to me in detail. He spent a lot of time with us.

My husband and I moved here 15 years ago. We arrived with one of two cats on IV fluids. Went immediately to MIVH and have used their services ever since. From cat food, wellness check-ups, vaccines, spay and neutering, teeth cleaning to emergency surgery- they are caring, professional and responsive. All the doctors and staff are great but Drs. Bruce and Valerie hold a special place in our hearts.
Dr. Megan is the the most kind and patient person! and very sweet! We have a fearful little shih tzu rescue, and she takes her time with him and he does better every time she sees him! The staff is also fantastic - everyone from the front desk to assistants and the techs. Friendly is an understatement!! Great veterinary care and always a pleasant experience - LOVE this PLACE !!! Love that this practice is a walk in for nail trimming. The staff appear to be very kind to the furbabies. I thought the price for nail trim was a bit high.

I have just switched from another Vet in Myrtle Beach. I have been able to meet two of the Bets at Murrells Inlet bringing in my brood. They were both so caring and understanding. They were patient listening to my dogs needs and never appeared rushed or impatient. Having the opposite experience at my previous Vet I am extremely happy we switched. My high anxiety Dog s behavior even changed with a less aggressive rushed environment. Thank you to EVERYONE at Murrells Inlet for you kindness to me and my fur family!

I have been to virtually every vet clinic in the near area. This is the clinic where I have had the best overall experience. The staff is compassionate, friendly, and takes great care of the fur patients and their people, and take the time to listen. It pains me to see complaints that someone has waited past their appointment time, as I have been there when an emergency has come through the door, and when it does, it's all hands on deck to do what is necessary to save the fur patient. Frankly, everyone would want the same care and attention. You get it here.
As long as you are a regular customer there, ok but if you call with an out of town pet, good luck! I was going to transfer my own dog there but will keep her where I m at. I would drive to Charleston before I would go here again. Had a 4:45 appointment and was told told five different stories as to why we were waiting so long. Finally saw a vet at 7:00 pm for one minute after they treated every customer who came in after we did!

Edit: It's been over a week, and no response. This seals the deal for me and goes to show how very little they care about their customers, and reading other reviews also validates that. If I can't get a simple response to the below email, well, enough said.
I am writing to make you aware of a stressful situation that I experienced in your office yesterday, made more stressful by your team's lack of response in the moment.
I took Arthur in for a walk in appointment at 2 and finally saw the doctor around 3:15. After having his foot looked at, which I had originally come in for, I had requested Dr. Alexander to give Arthur a Lyme vaccination. A few moments later the vet tech, a young gentleman, came in to distribute the vaccination. When he went to inject, it somehow "went through the skin" with liquid spraying all over the table. My husband was holding Arthur at the time, and when Arthur moved the liquid splashed up into my husband's eye. Leaving the liquid all over the table that Arthur was sitting on, he went back to get another vial and distributed the vaccination again, and my husband washed his eyes out in the sink.
I didn't realize the full extent of the situation at the time as I was preoccupied. My husband had told me more on our way home. Understandably, I started wondering if Arthur had been over vaccinated or given too much, spiraling myself into panic and stress, trying to figure out how I could help him (your office was closed by the time I tried to call).
Mistakes happen and I am a very understanding person, and it is actually rare for me to write an email like this. What was most stressful and disappointing of all was the way the situation was handled by the vet tech and your team. Whether the vet tech was flustered or just didn't care, it felt like he swept it under the rug and ran out of the room. We had let the front desk know about the situation and they looked at us blankly, confused, which was anything but comforting. The only thing they could offer was eye wash, but at that point it was too late.
I spend a lot of time caring for Arthur's health, and nothing is more disheartening than walking away from a vet feeling a loss of trust. Again, I understand mistakes happen but the way it was handled was below my standards.
The staff is very caring and accommodating. We re always able to get our pets in quickly when needed. Thank you to all the staff for always being so amazing and a BIG thank you to Dr. Chip!
Dr. Chip is a wonderfull wonderful vet . The vet techs showed me how to hydrate my dog with a step and fingers solution.

I chose this clinic after reading reviews and was very pleased with the care and courtesy of the staff. The waiting areas are large and spacious, with plenty of room for the pets and their people. I was most impressed with the attention, care, friendliness, and thoroughness of the doctor, though. And, as I was waiting to check out, another doctor struck up a conversation with me about a rescue she had in her office. Everyone was very nice! A very pleasant experience, considering!!
I brought Beau in for his vaccinations and a yearly checkup and his brother Jackson in for a flu shot. Dr. Chip was attentive and kind to both dogs, allowed time for questions and all around great proving that he loves his job! The vet tech was equally as nice and quite adept at his job also. He explained all of the options for heart worm, flee and tic treatments. He performed the injections so quickly and proficiently that the dogs and I barely noticed he had done so!!!! All in all, another great appointment at MIVH!!!

My dog didn't get diagnosed properly for a ear infection. Medication didn't do anything. Applied it as specified but infection remained after weeks. Went to another Vet and received proper meds that got rid of the infection.
My puppy got sick and I called this veterinary hospital, the person that answer me said I cannot be seen till 3 pm and this is 9 am that I called. I thought that when your sick you go to the hospital that moment. How could this place called hospital if they don't do what it mean? My puppy died, she had parvovirus..Dogs owner place take your dogs elsewhere.. anything, this place cost too much for the treatment..
I have been going to MIVH since 2011. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The doctors are super great. I have seen Dr. Bruce more than any other doctor, and he is fabulous! The handling and care the doctors have for my pets is wonderful. And, the doctors and staff are very compassionate to my feelings and worries as well. The doctors take the time to answer my questions and give clear and concise responses. Thank you MIVH for the care and love you have shown for my pets over the years!

We haven't lived here long so as a new patient we were so pleased that the doctors and staff not only went to great care to be virus careful, they extended compassion and experience helping us come up with a solution to save Buggie's eyesight. The eye ulcer he developed was certainly causing great discomfort. Dr. Meggan Hood was able to confirm the diagnosis and provide us with immediate assistance to heal his eye. We'll continue to work with Dr. Meggan and team as long as Buggie needs them. Thanks so much.

All the people there are really nice. We've been going there 4 years. I found out they give a 10% discount for veterans, hope everyone knows this,I could of saved a few hundred dollars if i knew that 4 years ago.
