If at all possible, I would avoid this hospital like the plague! I was in a car accident in 2018 and taken to this hospital via ambulance. *Shoutout to the ambulance crew as they were efficient, super nice/calming...as I wasn t sure what my injuries included but had experienced back pain and could not get off the ground* During my time at the hospital I wasn t impressed and the explanation from the doctor about the CT Scan took all of 1 minute for him to explain. (Later on after leaving and reviewing everything on paper from the ct scan, I found there was ALOT more than what was discussed and information that was not listed correctly....I understand they get busy and don t have time to go over everything, or in my case, mostly nothing. The real issue is the billing department. I don t have the time or energy to explain everything, but it has been the WORST experience. Everything was SO screwed up, I couldn t imagine another hospital that reaches this level of incompetency....and to say the least, I m still dealing with it in 2020. Do yourself a favor and do not get involved with this hospital...I m pretty sure I ve aged 10 years due to their stupidity.
I arrived to Murphy Medical Center via ambulance after collision with a bobcat on hwy 143 on a motorcycle wreck, I was very pleased with the trauma services provided by Dr. Hill, Dr. Burlison, and Dr. Vaughan, one even called me few days later to check on my injuries.
I recently had Surgery at Erlanger Murphy Medical Center and received excellent care from the admitting area, Pre-op, Operating room staff, and Recovery room staff. Thank you and thank you Dr. Martin
This facility has an employee advising the public and our elderly not to wear masks amidst the COVID pandemic. It s very concerning to me that our elderly could be effected by this. When I pointed this out to the employee she physically threatened me. Please be watchful if you have loved ones here.
I normally dont write many reviews but after having to use this ER last night and seeing all the bad reviews, I wanted to write this on my experience. My overall impression isnt that bad, compared to other emergency rooms i have been treated at. The care and tests were appropriate for diagnosing the cause of my issue. My only complaints about this ER was the lack of any follow-up. It didnt look like they were that busy but being from the medical field and worked in an ER myself, normally you would check-in on your patients more frequently than I was. Overall, I don't think this is a bad place, from my first impressions, and I would go there again if the need comes up. I doubt the hospital reads these reviews but I hope some coaching of the ER staff to check-in/follow-up with patients more often is addressed. I realize there is a lot of waiting for test results and labs to come back for the doctor to review, but there needs to be more patient interaction by the nurses.
This place is far from any other hospital with the Erlanger name attached to it. Erlanger in Chattanooga saved my life after a motorcycle accident that left me in such terrible shape, the doctors had already given my family the worst expectation speech. I have visited this place twice and both times were an absolute waste of money and hope. If you want to clean and dress your own wounds, or waite 2 hours with a broke facial bone to get treated like a drug addict and sent away, the day before Thanksgiving, with no treatment at all, then this is your place. Two chances I've given this place, and after this, I can firmly say that a person should be charged with a felony for the way they treat patients. I'm a veterinarian technician and intake supervisor for a local division of an international poultry breeding industry and can tell you that it is a felony to do animals the way they do patients. I knew I was in for a holiday of intense pain when I over heard the grey hair doctor with the seemingly eastern European accent brag to the RN about letting the diabetic patient he had just seen suffer for her bad, personal health decision that brought her there. I am insured, I am never late on any bill payment, but I refuse to pay this place a dime for the way I was treated. Even if it's a measly copay as I owe them. I'd rather go to jail. Garunteed better health care there than this place.
This is THE WORST hospital I have ever been to. The staff that checked my husband in were wonderful. Once we were in a room it was horrible. Nurses swearing including using the f word and my six year old was with us. Another nurse was bad mouthing a patient and commented how she didn't want to deal with her. It took 40 minutes for anyone to come and see us. My husband had been vomiting all day and had diarrhea. They never checked him for anything except blood pressure. My husband's nurse acted as if we were a bother.
Emergency Room was horrible no one seems to care about what s going on.
I don't think I have ever given my opinion or review on something on this account, but this Hospital has got my husband and I SO UPSET, it's not funny. My hubb had two separate emergency visits to this place. The 1st one in July, we already knew the problem and illness he had, he just needed a certain prescription written by the Doc asap. So we requested the Doc would not perform any procedures on him. The Doc insisted to do a procedure that he felt was necessary in order to confirm the illness we were claiming. So then we insisted he look into my hubbs records from his former Doc out of state and have them faxed to him to confirm. At this point, the Doc became very arrogant, projecting he knew better. We're not rich people; and can't afford unnecessary procedures if we can avoid it. So, the Doc reluctantly agreed not to do any procedures, and wrote out the prescription.
Weeks later the bill came to which we were able to get at a more affordable price because of our financial background. We paid it in full. Then... a couple months later, we get a phone call from a debt collector!?! Quoting we owed an additional $600!!! We NEVER received ANY OTHER BILLS and had NO IDEA!!!??? So we called the ER who then forwarded us the number to call that handles the bills, and they were telling us it was for the ER visit....!?!??? I mean, didn't we just PAY the ER visit??? NO PROCEDURES WERE DONE... and NOW YOU WANT US TO PAY an additional $600??? FOR WHAT!?!?!
Ok... calming down... So the 2nd ER visit, my hubb decided to submit to having procedures done only because he just wanted to find relief for his pain. So... they did MANY procedures. Seriously... I don't think they really needed to do ALL that they chose to do on him, since we already know the main Illness he had been diagnosed with years ago. Anyway, after all was said and done, our bill came in the amount of $5,400+!!! All this stuff just to find out he needed a gluten-free diet, which could have easily been diagnosed via one blood draw!
In my opinion, this place is VERY unprofessional and the ER Doc is extremely selfish and greedy. We are trying to rebuild our credit and were doing a darn good job too... that is until now that we have this sudden Debt Collection due to a bill WE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT and still don't know anything about!!! I guess it's Attorney time!!! =/
