Absolutely superb. 3rd time I've been and Its been amazing every time. The staff are great and friendly and the food is superb! I would especially recommend the king prawns and the lamb Karai!

One of the best meals I ve had in the Uk & one of the best butter chickens I ve had (and I ve eaten a lot in many different countries..)

My partner & I shared the onion bahjis, gun powder potatoes and butter chicken. It was all incredible, nice atmosphere and great service.

The service on a Saturday evening wasn't particularly fast and we had to ask for a lot of fairly standard things - e.g. no water, my partner got up and asked for it, the waiter brought a carafe of tepid warm water... this then had to be changed, which took an age. The food, when it eventually came (30 minute wait...), was flavourful and this is where this place gets its reputation from. Their take on KFC chicken was really good. The barbecued lamb had been cremated and was a bit dry, tasty nonetheless. Pakoras and dip were nicely spiced. At the end of the meal again it was a bit of a chore to get the bill. Atmosphere feels a bit cramped. Overall, the food was okay but there are better places and the service was poor.

Fantastic modern Indian restaurant. If you think curry mile is all about churning out very average food in big volumes - think again. This place is different. Proper food, well thought through menu, lots of good veggie options and the best Biriyani you ever tasted. Service is good. Beer choice even better! Go Mughli

Loved the food, loved that the service was slow as it allowed me to enjoy my evening out with friends. The garlic chilli rice was hot and delicious. I added some of the onion salad to it and it complimented it well! The kebabs were yummy and the broccoli unbelievable tasty!!! Just love eating out in Rusholme and Mughli s is stiff competition for the rest! When I m back in England at Christmastime I shall be going back to Mughli s!

Bold statement but after trying them you'll know exactly where I'm coming from.

Butter Chicken. Two simple words, words which naturally go together, and words, at this excellent restaurant changed my life. I've tasted it and I'll never be the same again. It came after some of the best Lamb Chops I've ever eaten, with lovely blackened bits on from their charcoal pit. I really appreciated the host coming over to us and having a quick word even mentioning something I'd put in the booking reference, nice touch. Great food, great surroundings, great atmosphere, BUTTER CHICKEN.

Shocking experience!

I don t undertand how anyone could leave a 5 star review because the food was horrible and everything was overpriced, miserable waiters and horrible service. The mix starter containing only 2 pieces of kebabs, chicken tikka and chops for 3 More

Tonight you re looking for something different. Another night at the local would send you under, listening to Fred tell you about his ex-wife's flash new lover for the third time this week. He drives a Mercedes, he has a gold watch, he wears cufflinks. You've never understood why people wear cufflinks. No, it won t be the local again. Tonight you want a curry, a proper curry. You're tired of tepid greige dhansak served in rooms that remind you of '70s working men s clubs. The setting doesn't make the food but when the food's bad, everything else feels worse. Someone, you don't remember whom, recommended Mughli. The jewel of the curry mile, they said.

You arrive early for your booking. Your date hasn t turned up yet but you ask to be seated anyway. You order wine and wait. You re not anxious. You're well versed in the shame of being stood up. The setting is relaxed and the atmosphere is pleasant. You should come to places like this more often. Your date arrives. You pour her a drink and order food.

To start with, you select the charcoal grilled lamb. You ordered it because you don t have a charcoal pit at home. You don t even have a barbecue or a garden for that matter. Dingy apartment living is everything the dystopian novels of your youth promised it would be. For the main attraction you opt for the Ruby Murray. The name hints at an old neighbour you admired. You wonder where she is now. Probably long gone. Your date settles on Bombay Chicken, we can share she suggests. You reluctantly agree.

You've barely sunk your second glass of pinot before the starter arrives. The meat is tender and falls apart in your mouth. It s delicious. You make small talk with your date. She s a nurse and wants to travel the world. She spent three weeks in Thailand when she was 19. Her father makes his money restoring classic cars. You tell her you wish you were in a more noble profession.

The main course arrives. The Ruby Murray is rich and your second dose of lamb is as good as the first. The Bombay Chicken is also tasty. It s sweet and you re glad you agreed to share. Both transcend your expectations and impart respectable levels of heat. Your date is equally enamoured. You tell her a story about how you cracked your head open as a child. She laughs. It s going well. You decide not to go for dessert. You re too full. You decide to go for drinks instead. You ask for the bill. It s not as much as expected.

You leave feeling fulfilled. You half turn back towards the door on your way and let out a satisfied sigh. That was the best Indian food you've had in Manchester since Ashar s homemade dal. That's the kind of meal Fred's ex-wife is eating now she's courting Mr. Mercedes and his expensive timepiece. No more microwaved Chicken Kievs for her Fred. Not anymore.

Whilst the food doth come at last
The time for sorry hath now passed

Next time I ll make a different plan
Worse service I do not know

Too bad there is no flavor of India with food Add to that the size of the dishes is very small and also there is no sambousa or chicken biryani and Tikav How to be an Indian restaurant does not include such main dishes ??

Food was very good (on the spicy side), the waiters were faultless. Unfortunately the manager was rude, his table side manner needs work. I found him abrupt and condescending, hence the 4 stars, would definitely go again as long as the manager does not serve or attempt to talk to me.

We recently went to Mughli for the first time. My husband and I are vegan and we were both incredibly pleased at the extensive menu available for us. For the first time in 6 years I ate a peshwari naan and it was delicious. The mains and starters we shared were also beautifully made. We ll definitely be coming back :)

I'm afraid that I found Mughli to be all fur coat and no knickers. The food was good, but overpriced, and the service was inexcusable. Myself and my husband were running late and got to Mughli 15 minutes after the rest of our group, only to find that they had been made to wait outside, as they will only seat the whole group together. This bizarre policy meant that our friends were freezing when we entered the restaurant and walked past empty tables, to the one designated as ours. I could have moved past this strange and unwelcoming policy if the service had been good from this point on. It wasn't. It was slow and awkward, due to their decision to have waiters and waitresses that only did drinks orders/clearing plates etc and who didn't even know the specials. When we did speak to the special waiter that could take our food order, we still couldn't find out what the specials were. We did ask, and he did say, but we didn't catch it over the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. When we asked again he repeated himself, but with no elaboration or description, so all we caught was chicken. After all this, the bill at the end was high, and higher than the quality of food warrants. Still, it looks good

Lovely food. Different from most "Indian" restaurants in curry mile in that there aren't tons of options which are basically minor variations with the same sauce. The ambience is great. Slightly expensive considering the portion sizes.

Due to lockdown can't really go to this place and really miss their food. Can wait for everything to open back up again. Their karahis and mixed grill has to be up there with the best. The chef definitley knows how to cook some great food. Highly recommended. Also people complaining about problems they faced through uber, I think you should contact uber. They have a dedicated customer support section on the App and are very helpful.

Amazing place for food. I've been to a lot of asian restaurants in Manchester and this is far the best. I've been 3 times already and will continue to go. Amazing atmosphere and lovely restaurant.

Went there with a group of friends but due to social distancing we were divided into two groups. The food and service was good, just that my Chai tea took way too long. It was a good atmosphere.
