Marine Archaeology

Marine archaeology is one of our core areas of expertise at MSDS Marine. We have extensive experience working on shipwrecks from different periods including ancient Greek wrecks off the coast of Turkey; medieval wrecks off the coast of England; 17th-century Dutch East India Company ships off South Africa; 18th-century British warships off Canada; World War II wrecks in Southeast Asia; among others.

Our team uses state-of-the-art equipment such as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) equipped with high-definition cameras to explore underwater sites without disturbing them. We also use advanced imaging techniques such as photogrammetry which allows us to create detailed 3D models from photographs taken during dives.

MSDS Marine also provides support for offshore renewable energy projects such as wind farms and tidal energy installations. We have experience working on projects in the UK, Europe, and Asia. Our services include site surveys, environmental impact assessments (EIAs), cable route surveys, geophysical surveys, UXO (unexploded ordnance) clearance operations as well as monitoring during construction and operation phases.
