Still waiting on the call.return. It has been 3 weeks now. Was told that since personnel is working from home my message would be sent to the correct department since they couldn't forward phone calls. That person would call back with 72 hours.
I retired 7 years ago and it was an easy process. My wife is trying to retire at the end of the school year by everyone at PERS seems to be incompetent. No one can tell her exactly how many years she has in. Complete and utter chaos.
By far the most frustrating people I ve had to deal with. What should have been a simple process of a transfer turned into a game of back and forth.
They don t care! Had money stolen so bank account had to be frozen. I explained that I had a new account number and what the new one was. They said I had to send them a check. I can t do that because I m waiting for the checks to the new account to come in. They continued to send to the frozen account anyway. What a mess!
Had an interview with the financial staff at the location.
Horrible experiences I never ever work with them.
No wonder they provide terrible services to public.

Very slow process. Hard to get a person on the phone at times. Start at least 3 months in advance. In my case 4 should have. First check comes in the snail mail.

Have been waiting 4 months for MY refund. I was told today to contact my case manager after lunch. After lunch, I called and was told my case manager was out for the day. Wow!!
My total experience with PERS in 2018 has been nothing short of superb! From the first phone call to the office visit. I always was met with a smile and professionalism. It appears that their work environment was one to envy. Thanks guys continue the good work.
Rude, uninformed and cold employees. Always gives out wrong info. Said I'd receive check in 4 to 6 weeks, 2 months no check. Always sound annoyed when they answer the phone.
Every time I have dealt with PERS they have been nothing but nice and informative. I ve been in the PERS system for 26 years and never have had a reason to complain.
Way too difficult to do a direct transfer of my retirement account.
