That place is just a chill spot for there employees you can be in all the pain in the world they will look at you and just keep gossiping about what ever they were talking about. THEY DONT TAKE THERE JOB SERIOUS

My mother recently had knee surgery here and despite the reviews I found the nurses and doctor extremely friendly and helpful. I spoke to about 4 to 5 different nurses on the 5th floor before and after the surgery and they were all very nice. The nurses on the 4th floor recovery were all just as nice. I would also like to point out that Edith from Social Services did an amazing job helping locating a rehab center for us on such short notice. Edith was very patient even after we called her so many times. The team in Social Services needs better accommodations in my opinion. My mother couldn't be happier. The only thing that really sucked is the lack of parking around that area. That was super annoying.

I have to be honest I had one bad experience here over a year ago but after my experience over the weekend I have changed my mind. I went to the ER thinking that I was having a PE and they immediately got me back and reassured me that I was safe and everything was going to be okay. The nurse Helen was very sweet and attentive and the doctor I saw was very thorough in her examination of me. I was there for almost 7 hours but I mean it's an ER, that's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Plus they wouldn't let me go until they were certain that I did not have a blood clot ( thank God). Bad reviews about wait time in an ER should not be taken seriously as long as the care is great. I have never gone to the ER at any hospital expecting to be in and out within an hour or two.

I usually don't like going to the emergency room due to the wait times, but this was a seamless process from the beginning to the end. The staff was super friendly, they listened to all my issues, took their time with my concerns and ran all their tests. I highly recommend this hospital to anybody who is looking for a friendly and caring staff. Tamara the nurse was supper caring and went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of and cared. Very well run, from top to bottom!

Indescribably bad emergency room that operates like a third world clinic. There was no triage, no security, people wandering aimlessly about in an overcrowded unsanitary facility. The staff was cold, indifferent, unprofessional and in a constant state of confusion.
I left his facility in a badly injured state rather than continue to endure the indignity of being treated in such an inhumane manner.

As a visitor to New York it was shocking to see that this is an acceptable standard for a healthcare facility.

I have had quite a few run ins with unbearable people or patients if you will, however Overall the Care and Respect that is shown from the Security Nurses, the Doctors , the Staff in General is Absolutely Incredible. They are some of the most Caring, Compassionate, Respectable, and Loving People I Have Ever had the Pleasure of Meeting. From the (Security Officers) Latrell Griffin, B.Barnett , B. Wannamaker, J.Sanchez, Anthony Roman, N.Pierpot, R.Matos , P.Norton and the Medical Staff(Nurses) Anastasia, Shelley, Geraldine, Theresa, Chrissy, Polina, Shantel, Melody, Kristin, Reese, Dana, Nina, Usha (P.A) Melissa, Sarah, Monique, Laura(Doctor) Choudry, Purciel, McDonald, Lindsey, Shaw, (Med Techs) Amy, Rashieda, Patrick, Evadette , Ruben, Ricky, Jon, Emerson (Clerks) Sona, Kerri-Ann, Priyal, Jonny(ADN) Madison, Gerdes, Springer. These are just a few of People that Help Keep MSHQ one of the most Prestigious and Caregiving Environments in the Astoria Queens Vicinity, I would Gladly Admit myself into the Care of These Fine people, who go through their everyday work day unrecognized. Only a select few people can Recognize True Brilliance, Undeniable Safety, Well-Being, Professionalism, Respect and Courtesy in the work place. So I just Want to Thank You MSHQ for your Hospitality, I look forward to choosing you for any of my health care needs. God Bless You All ^.^

I was treated at Mount Sinai Hospital Queens in the Emergency Room overnight from 1/18/16 to 1/19/16 and then admitted to 4 East. The entire staff was wonderful, efficient and caring. The facility is old but clean and everyone from physicians, nurses, aides and transporters rendered excellent care.

I came to this hospital to have the stitches removed. Which they themselves did, and the attention of the administrative staff is the worst .. Being a private hospital, maybe they should take care to treat people and understand that the salary they are paid in Thanks to all the payments we make patients .

Watched 3 doctors play candy crush while I sat in the ER for 3 hours. Thought I was saving time going to the hospital near my apartment, but it turns out I should have gone to Manhattan. 11/10 would not recommend, I think I d rather get medical care at Neptune Diner. The nurses were great though.

I went to emergency room last year for my broken f...

I went to emergency room last year for my broken finger. What they did was only taking some X-ray pictures, but it took almost 4hours. I went there in the morning around 9am, then it took 1.5hours to see Dr. It s emergency room and I understood there were many people who needed to be seen and I was one of them.
But also after I got X-ray done, it took 1.5hour or more again to see the Dr. because all of the Dr were out for lunch ( that s that I was told). I talked to a nurse that I needed to leave by 1pm because I had a important appointment in the city. She answered like Okay, somebody will go look for your Dr. soon. Then 30min past, I asked her one more time, and she said he is busy I assume she just had been ignoring me because they were busy. She wasn t even kind, seemed just annoyed, but I only wanted to know how long it would take at least. Then I asked her one more time how long more it would take and explained I had to leave. But she told me now all of them were out for 30min to 1hour for lunch. Would you like some too? She probably thought I was only a complaining patient, no understanding, kind of fake kindness I felt.
I couldn t believe a person who became a nurse was not able to even communicate with a patient. I don t think it s all of them, but she or some treat patients like objects too much.

Then after he came back, I told them I needed to go in 5min. Then he did it soon for me, took care of my papers quick, gave me X-ray result etc in 2min and only told me I did have a fracture in my finger then sent me another room that only gave me some papers having other Dr s office info.
I waited for this less than 10min for 2hours because of their lunch time. (Probably they were really busy with other patients for 1hour our of 2hours though) been sitting on the seat since 9am.

Then they told me none about extra treatment while my finger was still bent a little. Just within 3days go see one of other Dr. in this list. That s all.

Again, I understand there are many people who need emergency cares, older, children, etc. and ER is always busy. But I wish they treated patients better.

I've been in the ER of Mount Sinai queens hospital...

I've been in the ER of Mount Sinai queens hospital a couple of times before and I've always been given a descent service and treatment until 2 days ago: Sunday, June 2nd 2019. I was transferred from city Md to the hospital with a doctor note and report, due to my extreme level of pain caused by a herniated disk and a sciatica. I arrived there around 9:30-45 pm and was given a wheelchair since I couldn't walk. It was crowded, so I asked the security guard who escorted me in to give my note to the nurse, but he said she wouldn't take it and he asked for my name to sign me up, until the nurse ( Asian) is less busy.
After one hour sitting in the chair right in front of the nurse desk, she finally approached me to ask me if I needed to see a doctor, I said : yes, and tried to show her the note, but she said oh ok, what's your name ? I gave her my name again and she returned to her desk. Another hour later, with the pain substancially increasing, I couldn't sit anymore with my nerves compressed at the bottom of my back. Also, I've seen two patients (Caucasian) who she decided to admit immediately because they were insisting and complaining about the pain (which was clearly over played). So I got up from my wheel chair and went to ask her if she can provide me with a bed to lie down while waiting for my turn or find me a solution as the pain was unbearable. The shocking fact is that she said: she is not sure, and ignored me immediately ! And when I insisted she asked me literally : what condition do you have ? After 2 hours sitting there she didn't make the slightest effort to assess my emergency level or even look at the doctor note that I tried to show her in the first hour I was waiting !!! I was irritated and I found it unprofessional, inhuman, and discriminatory, so I spoke up, telling her that if I can't have a solution I would rather leave, while I couldn't even stand still, and that she didn't bother to sign me up correctly. She simply ignored me and called the security guard on me, even if I wasn't harming anybody ! He escorted me to my Uber and tried to be compassionate, he was clearly more human than her. I came back home, but couldn't stand the pain, so I called 911, they sent me an ambulance and drove me back again to the hospital. When I arrived at 12:30 am I was placed in a bed in the hallway with the folded sheets thrown on my feet, no plastic bag, no socks, nobody to care !!! I had to ask the nurses in the ER front station to help me with that, and even so, one of them came with the bag. She handed it to me and put the pair of socks next to my head, and said there you go! I said I can't reach my feet, I have a lot of pain, but she simply ignored me and joined her desk until the other nurse (Russian) came and helped, and covered me. At 3am, I've been seen by the doctor and I had to ask to be discharged just to leave around 4am. So I literally have been in extended pain for more than 5 hours !!!! from my arrival around 9:30pm on Sunday until 3am on Monday !!! Because of an incompetent and inhuman nurse (whom I hope she will be corrected) and a short staffed hospital on a busy weekend. Clearly this was an awful experience and a shame for a hospital like mount Sinai. I'm not sure I'll ever come back there or even recommend it to anybody. The essence of any health system especially in a country like USA is humanity and equal treatment regardless of the race or ethnicity after all. That wasn't the case.

I m extremley upset with the experience I had the night of my father s death on August 16th, 2019. I was given a package with my father s belongings but his clothes and his phone were not included. I m from Huntington and drove out to Queens a week later to try to get the rest of his belongings (which I was not informed that more of his belongings were still there, I don t know why all of it wasn t given to me the same night) and was told by Barbra Zimmerman I don t feel comfortable giving you his belongings . Meanwhile the night of I wasn t asked for any I.D or proof that I m the daughter of the deceased, meaning his belongings which included money could ve been given to anyone there. I then had to call back during the week and come back again just for them to give me his clothes and find out his phone was given to my dads girlfriend who my family does not speak to. It s upsetting because they gave me such a problem to get my dads belongings when they re legally only suppose to go to me but were quick to give my dads girlfriend his phone. Now I won t be able to see pictures I was hoping to find etc. It s upsetting that while mourning my father s death I had to go back and fourth with the hospital trying to do everything the way they wanted just for his phone to be given to someone who isn t legally allowed to have it. On top of all this, on August 16th while I m in the emergency room crying about my father the workers are outside the room laughing and being disruptive. I m so mad and upset that I was given such a problem just to receive his clothes and now I can t do anything about his phone because the hospital didn t take care of things the way it was suppose to be legally done.

I posted the above review probably a few months ago, the response from this hospital below gave me a link but nothing comes up when I click the link. I m just extremely frustrated because the way my father passed is under investigation & because the hospital decided to illegally give his phone to his girlfriend at the time there s now an even bigger problem I m dealing with. If your loved one ever happens to pass away at this hospital... Even though there belongings should be the last thing on your mind because who would think a professional hospital would so easily give your loved ones things away to people that don t even have the right identification just make sure to be conscious of that. This is just so unfair to me, now I literally won t know the truth behind how my father passed away because the hospital made this BIG mistake. There s nothing that can now even be done about this, it s just sad that because of the hospital I won t be able to see pictures, videos, messages & more of my dad in his final days.

This place is terrible,In January of 2018 I had a terrible fever I was rushed to mount Sinai of queens in a ambulance,on a stretcher, i couldn't even move my body. When I got to Mount SINAI Queens ER they gave me a tylenol and immediately discharged me even though My temperature was still high and still was in pain. When I told the nurse I wasn't ready to be discharged SHE CALLED SECURITY they almost embarrassed me, very evil,
So I left the hospital barely able to walk. I spotted a police officer and asked him to call an ambulance. The ambulance took me to NEW YORK PRESBYTERIAN CORNELL in Manhattan.while I was in Cornell the doctor their had to quarantine me my
Temperature had sky rocket. The Doctors at New York PRESBYTERIAN CORNELL admitted me to their hospital and saved my life. IF YOU EVER NEED PROPER MEDICAL ATTENTION PLEASE GO TO NEW YORK PRESBYTERIAN CORNELL HOSPITAL THEY ARE THE BEST. THEY SAVED MY LIFE. MOUNT SINAI HOSPITAL OF QUEENS KICKED ME OUT OF THERE ER AND LEFT ME TO DIE ALL BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT I DIDN'T HAVE INSURANCE.

The fact that this hospital doesn't have an onhand psychiatrist astonishes me. I was outright refused an emergency refill for my medication. I don't think any of these PAs understand the scope of mental health, because if they did, I would have left with a refill and some hope that my OCD wouldn't be so bad when I wake up in the morning. Not only that, but I waited for two hours only to find out that I would be receiving no help.

Definitely do not go to the Pediatrics dept. and see Dr. Brozinsky. We took our 15 month old to her several times last week because he was clearly not feeling well. He rarely cries and is always consolable. But the last 10 days he was not. He also wasn't eating or sleeping much and had swollen lymph nodes(which she acknowledged but did not dive deeper). After 2 visits in 5 days, we ended up having to take him to the ER at Mt Sinai Manhattan(which is fantastic). He had a massive and obvious ear infection, and has had it for upwards of 1 week. When I asked her about her care or lack thereof, she bristled and gave no new info or explanation. Dr. Brozinsky is quite friendly, but I prefer my pilots to be good at flying, I don't necessarily have to be their friend. Same with any specialized field that I'm paying a lot of money for. And certainly where my child's well being is involved.

Absolutely atrocious!! Please don't ever go there or take anyone for that matter, to this hospital in the case of an emergency. Staff just doesn't care about anyone waiting in the emergency room. My husband waited over 9 hours on the chair in the hallway with stomach pain. There's no excuse. Staff there seem misserable and are counting down the hours before going home. Avoid at all cost.
We finally got transferred to Surgery on the 4th floor where he was misdiagnosed by PA physician who was kept telling us the worst things you dont want to hear!

AVOID AVOID AVOID do moy waste your time and be treated as in the 3rd world country hospital.

I feel very sorry and regretting the moment we walked in.

P.S. Don't have to send you any contacts you don't deserve it how you were treated my husband like we were in a 3rd World country. Furthermore you sent us a bill for $115,000 pretending that "wasn't not an emergency "!!! Your doctor is not a God and it was only Apendix, and this is how much you charged. You are an Insurance FRAUD.

You are unbelievable and in any kind ylto ve AVOID MILES AWAY.

I ve met the director of the hospital and fortunately still have her card. Your staff in the emergency room on a slow Tuesday night is nothing short of abrasive, inconsiderate and condiscendong. Is that necessary?

The only attendant left the desk replaced by new staff that arrives clueless of who is in the room; no conversation or updates given. Returned to the desk only to identify myself as a patient and was given a lecture.

Last time I was her was for a serve colitis attack. While your staff gave me narcotic, NY Prespetarian held me for 15days.

It s all about training. All of my other docs are part of this system, yet this hospital fails upgrade itself. Staff is a product of management that creates a culture. Should I assume the senior administration is miserable?

Experiences like this continue the stink on Queens hindering it from becoming the borough of the future. A general review is needed. It is widely known local who rather travel elsewhere sacrificing the convieince of this facility due to its reputation.

I walked into the Emgerency Room - In-take process- the staff was fast, made things simple, curious. Rolled in the ER medical area- my NURSE ERIC was Fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, sweet, explained everything as it was happening, and always checked to make sure I was well. The Unfortunate part was when I met Dr. Nahvi Farzon. He seemed completely uninterested in my symptoms or my case, spoke fast, seemed like I was wasting his time. Came across a bit rude and very arrogant. Brushed off almost everything I said. I went scared I was having HEART issues and he completely brushed me off. Needless to say VERY disappointed of his treatment after encountering such a nice staff and a beautiful hospital. Hospital 4 stars - Dr. Nahvi Farzon not even 1 star.

Have been coming here for a long time since it was Astoria General as a Hospital being from the area, however also have my primary care physician here now, Dr. Fiorina Kyritsi. I already have given Dr. K a good review previously as she is a great doctor and the main reason why I continue to use Mt. Sinai. In addition wanted to add that Patient Coordinator Diana San Andres who I had not seen in a while is another gem that this hospital has. Always professional, polite and as helpful as she possibly can be. Things always go smoothly when she is at the front desk in the waiting area prior to seeing Dr. Kyritsi. The both of them are outstanding. Let me also not forget to mention Dr. Kyritsi's nurse Janet who is also very kind and polite. Between the three of them I am happy to be a patient at Mt. Sinai Astoria. let me not forget Santino as well as he also fits the mold of a kind, considerate and helpful person. He is very prompt and efficient when it comes to referrals.

Avoid at all costs - terribly managed hospital. ER was dirty and disorganized, the staff kept saying "we are so busy" when they clearly weren't. No patients get water when they ask - my partner was left for 10 hours, freezing cold without any water, leaving him super dehydrated when in a severely weakened state prior to getting IV fluids. How does this even happen?? The transfer was sloppy to the main hospital. Anna, a terrible RN on floor 2 of the main hospital, basically refused to do her job - she said she didn't want to change her gloves and do the hourly checkup so "just text me" if you need anything. Texted her and she didn't show up basically the whole time. She was rude on the phone and in person. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

9 times out of 10, they will hang up on you after making you sit through a long call hold time. Not very reliable, and getting anything pre-authorized has been a massive pain taking months.

The doctors themselves are nice, but unfortunately management makes this a horrible experience

I am currently here and the nurses have the absolute worst bedside manner. I brought my mom here because her pressure was so low that we couldnt go to new york hospital, we were forcedto come here. Shes been here since 7am and just got an xray. The nurses in front of the xray rooms numbered A1114 are the nastiest people i have ever come across. You dont argue with patients about where they were sitting, the young lady was sitting in the same area for 30 minutes while I was here and the nurse had the audacity to tell her that she wasnt. The second nurse in this area refused to give me anything for my mom to vomit in. She just looked at me like i was crazy until the young man pointed me in the direction if a bag dispenser. Same female nurse refused to give us tissues. Like maam, youre just sitting chatting it up with other nurses. The Physician Assistant was very nice and knowledgeable. The male nurse responsible for transporting and taking care of the emergency room was amazing but those female nurses by the xray room make the hospital look bad.

All the nurses are sweet and efficient (shout out to Maria!). Love that I can access my test results online. They work with many insurance carriers. The COVID-19 precautions in triage made me feed safe and eased my nervousness at being in the hospital during a pandemic. A great hospital!

Don't go here. Doctors and nurses are alright, the administration/reception is what I would call awful. They very clearly do not care to do their jobs with much competency and seem to maintain an adversarial attitude towards patients.

You or your loved one do not deserve to be in a place like this if truly unwell. Go somewhere else.

Really hard to find when you taking the subway. It take a long walk to get there. Slow processing and long wait. They do have restaurants at the first floor. I won't recommend this hospital for consideration.

ER was fantastic, but 6th floor was horrendous. Nasty nurses an terrible care. Needed commode took nurses an hr to find one. 4th floor was better but definitely can improve. Elderly care is the worst I have seen.
Would never go there again!
I will say I came cross one nurse that should truly be commended
(Oscar V Lliguichuzhca) unbelievable person he undoubtedly chose the right profession.

I have been to ER twice in the last two years. I had great experiences both times. I have a heart condition and went in with chest pains. They hook me up for vitals right away and within minutes did my EKG and had a doctor to see me. Dr. Erica is amazing!! I can t say enough about her and the nurses !!

I visited the ER a few weeks ago and the team that took care of me at that time was excellent. One of the Doctors was able to detect the cause of my problem and a couple of hours later a specialist, Dr. Manolis Tsatsas came to see me, and he explained what needed to be done to fix my problem, which he did. The ER department made me feel at ease and calmed my nerves with their professionalism and attentive manner.

Brought my wife here while we were on vacation (6-...

Brought my wife here while we were on vacation (6-23-19) due to her not feeling well (fever, cough, sore and swollen throat and hard to swallow, ears swollen and a milky discharge out of her left eye). Doctor Monique Rice, PA didn t want to listen to anything my wife had to say about her symptoms and was blowing everything off, as she know more than us since she is a doctor . My wife asked for an antibiotic shot and was told said she didn t need an antibiotic for anything. They did a strep test and they said it was negative. They gave her a pain shot (toradal) and said that would help and that s all she needed. They also sent us home with a script for 600mg Motrin as well. Well today (6-28-19) we are home off vacation and my wife gets a delivery from FedEx and it s from the hospital. The letter states basically oops we messed up, please call us. Your test for strep is actually positive. So 5 days after our visit they get the correct diagnosis and send us a letter. What if we were still on vacation? We wouldn t know that my wife is actually contagious to everyone she comes in contact with due to this hospital s piss poor doctors and laboratory personnel or whoever checks their tests. They didn t bother to try to call or anything to let her know, but send a letter to our home. I would avoid this place at all means necessary unless you have no other choice.

Update 7/10/19 you left a response that said fill this form out so you could call me. However, the link you left brings me to your website with no place to leave my contact information. So was the response just a way for you to look like you care and can say look we tried to speak with him about what was wrong but he never left us contact info?

I would give Mount Sinai Queens Zero (0) Stars. Unfortunately that's not an option. My boyfriend Cory Beckles has Sickle Cell Anemia. He has received less than adequate care from doctors and nurses on staff. The doctors have terrible bedside manor and are very rude and abrupt, making accusations of him being a substance abuse addict. Even if this was truth, which it is not...he is first a patient and human being. People who have substance abuse issues have an illness, they are ill. They should not be talked down to or belittled. As I stated before he does not have a substance abuse issue, he suffers from chronic pain due to Sickle Cell Anemia. I am appauled at the lack of courteousy given to him and how he was interrogated instead of comforted during his time of discomfort. I am furious with how unprofessional the majority of the staff is. Why aren't there specialist on staff that can assist with his particular health issues, doctors that are actually qualified to treat his symptoms? Why aren't there doctors on staff who are qualified to run the proper tests and make an intellectual diagnosis? His blood pressure was through the roof! His Systolic at it's highest was 190! His blood pressure has been high for days and never at one point did anyone offer him blood pressure meds to reduce it. He has complained of excessive chest pain, I'm pretty sure it has a lot to do with the elevated Blood Pressure and the amount of pain and stress he's endured during his stay at the hospital. No one is taking him seriously including those with Supervisor titles. When his mother went to the hospital on more than one occasion to speak on his behalf, doctors and staff were inconsiderate to her as well. Leaving her feeling discouraged and upset. This is a total disgrace and I am outraged. Not to mention that rooms are cramped and have to be shared with other patient(s). The hospital is not in the most sanitary of conditions either. This is not the first time he has told me about his unacceptable experiences there. Patient care should be number one. Obviously you have forgotten that. Your pay checks mean more.
Cory Beckles 3Rd Fl, Room 318, Bed#1
He was admitted 9/16/2020
PS I have some background in Nursing, HHA, CNA, and have work as Residential Treatment Counselor with oppositional defiant teenagers. So I am more than aware of how things should run in any type of healthcare setting, at any capacity.

Just moved to NYC. I have mainly experience with PA hospitals. Even the worst in my area that I avoid is amazing in comparison to this one. So small they don't have room for anyone. I came in for a very painful uti and they made me sit on a metal chair as they loaded me up with drugs. The drug ciprofloxacin is in the chemotherapy family drugs known as Fluoroquinolones. It causes massive side effects and especially your joints. Im worse off than I was before hand Im hurting all over. I would have preferred a regular antibiotic. The staff either couldn't or wouldn't explain the side effects when I asked them which is EXTREMELY unprofessional. Belittling me with my questions. I was so messed up that my kidneys were already hurting from the UTI I really couldn't get comfortable on this terrible metal chair amongst a sea of other people with IV fluids pumping into me. There was some awful old man yelling about just to be disruptive. Later I had another experience being here and that was something stupid on my own behalf. I accidentally ingested my vape liquid because my friend had put my vape juice back in my bag without telling me where my cbd oil to help with the pain caused by the med that they gave me. Well I grabbed the wrong glass bottle in the dark half awake almost sleep walking realizing what just happened. Drinking nicotine is DANGEROUS. They wouldn't give me any care and said that there was nothing that they could do. I knew I was in a bad situation but I decided to go to the other hospital the same night as I was developing worse symptoms (Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center) and they treated me MUCH BETTER. They took it more seriously, gave me an IV drip to help flush out the nicotine, said that if it came to it they would pump my stomach and were willing to try other things. In the end I vomited a lot and it was horrible and miserable but I ended up being okay, but I had toxicologist look at me, multiple nurses and doctors which is what you want when something bad happens you want to be taken seriously and you want someone with a professional attitude checking your family and friends.
