I cannot say enough bad things about this company....

I cannot say enough bad things about this company. I made three emergency phone calls and left my name with the after hours service for 2 days. I did not receive a call back .they did not consider a "leak" of over 3000 gallons an emergency since it was not flooding my house. Absolutely the worst. I wish there were other options.

On 6/17/2020 we received a bill for $275.97 stating we used 15,600 Gallons. My mother has owned a plumbing company for 20 years so I'm familiar with all plumbing issues. I checked for leaks and if the meter was running and it was all clear. I called the water company because, this was beyond me why the bill was so high. We did not use any additional water that month and to my knowledge I thought we had used less. We had no visitors and went out of town for one week. When I called the water company I spoke with Sheila and she said, "We did not push the water through your meter, you used it." She offered a Covid Relief option so that we didn't have to pay all of it but, then called back and said that we couldn't use it unless it was a past due balance. She then stated we were required to pay the bill and didn't offer any customer service to investigate. She told us we could pay what we could without any penalty or late fees. So we paid $100 that month. The next month the bill was back to normal with the remaining fee added to it and a LATE FEE (that Sheila said we didn't have to pay). A few days later we received an e-mail that stated if we didn't pay in full our water would be turned off. With a baby and a newborn on the way this was not an option for us and I panicked how we were going to come up with the money. I had been complaining about our predicament to my mother mostly because, she owns a plumbing company and what she thought about the situation. Without my knowledge my mother panicked and called the water company. The water company knowingly knew it was not me on the phone and offered up all my information to my mother and allowed her to pay the bill for us (something my husband and I would never ask or allow her to do). They allowed her to pay the previous balance (we were promised to be able to speak to a manager which we still haven't gotten a phone call from), current balance and the late fee (which we were promised that would be taken off). Another month passes and we were not refunded the late fee or have been able to speak to a manager. Still no insight on how or why our bill was so high without any changes in our water usage. We experienced terrible customer service and I plan to share my experience with the Better Business Bureau as well.

If I could give the Mount Pleasant Water Works a rating of a zero, I would!! I called a few days ago because I had a question about the increase in my bill. When I questioned the response I was given, I was hung up on by their customer service rep. They don't care about you b/c you have no choice but to get water from them...something needs to be done.

This "public service" is far from service friendly! Not only have the rates increased astronomically but the customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with! Don't even think about speaking with someone, they do NOT care. This is one local who has had enough of being treated so poorly in my own town!

Mount Pleasant Waterworks is a company that has completely changed my life!
As a young man new to the area, (2015)
I was temping different places hoping someone would see my work.
After showing proof, they brought me on and gave me a chance to learn from the old timers. From the oil and gas field so I know enough to keep my balance. 5 yrs later here I am, Jack of all trades, Master of none.
Regardless of how you feel about them personally, people should know that they saved my life by giving me a chance.

The service is very bad and rude, they hang up the phone after you ask them to connect to supervisor. Just recently found that the due date for the billing cicle change every month, very good idea to charge every month from all of us 7.00$. 65$ fee over 94$, I think its to much. I do not have pure water from my faucet.

The worst company and customer service. Was out of town for 2 months got back home saturday to my water being turned off. Called the after hours line to see if someone could turn the water on for me and they said I'd have to wait til monday when office opens.. what good is that going to do me. Go 3 days with no water. I've already had to deal with the insane water bill I had when nobody has been home, then its cut off when I get home and nobody can do anything for me. All I'm asking is if someone could kindly be a good person and company and help me. But clearly that's too much to ask for.
