Mount Falcon Estate Reviews

We stayed at Mount Falcon for two nights during our honeymoon in Ireland and it was the grandest, most elegant place I've ever stayed. Our room was stunning and was bigger than our apartment at home! The Falcon walk is not to be missed; we also enjoyed archery lessons during our stay which was also very fun. We dined at the restaurant both nights and the food and service was excellent. We hope one day to return to this very special place. Savor every minute of your stay!!

Our family of four have just left having spent three nights in a Lakeside Lodge and needless to say noone wanted to leave. The experience surpassed my expectations from start to finish, and surprisingly given the beautiful site, it was very very kid friendly. The lodge itself was absolutely wonderful - spotlessly clean, huge, warm and the beds were incredibly comfy. The hotel was like something from a movie and a throw back to a bygone era. The crackling fire in the entrance, the cosy lounge (where we read our books over a bottle of wine) and the gorgeous restaurant. A special mention must go to Dierdre at the free kids club - having never left the girls before she made me feel instantly at ease and it was a trip highlight for our kids. They want to come back to see her alone! Likewise the swimming pool - let s just say the kids would have spent all day every day there if we d let them! The gym could do with a bit of a refurb but there was plenty in there to keep me busy for an hour and all in perfect working order. The space of the hotel makes it ideal for couples and people with children alike as you never feel on top of each other. We are already planning our return back here from the UK next summer.

Not impressed. After staying at Lough Rynn Castle, this hotel was a letdown. The interior has potential for a lovely experience but the details aren t addressed. We could not control the temperature in our rooms. We could hear the dehumidifier click on and go to work each morning in the bathroom, early. The food and wine was overpriced and basic in the restaurant. Parking is in the back of the estate and the walk to and fro is not well lit.

I apologize for the negative review posted earlier this week. Which was not accurate.

You get what you pay for, AAA class above the rest. The service is excellent although I feel like the bar needs a revamp so it looks more like a bar and less like a waiting area. The Restaurant is just lovely warm and welcoming. My wife photographed the female toilets as they are just beautiful. If you found this Don't forget to like my reviews and photos.

Great place. However, rubbish place for a quiet coffee. The coffee was disgusting.

Beautiful hotel in large wooded grounds. Very fine dining the hotel has two buildings - the very elegant old manor building and a more modern courtyard building with a leisure centre.

Stayed here a couple of years ago for a wedding. Lovely hotel in a typically beautiful Irish setting surrounded by green fields and trees. The rooms and food were 5* and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the West of Ireland. Deffianetly worth looking at if you're getting married, they were extremely helpful and the day ran nice and smooth as a result and the happy couple remain happy regardless of my speech. happy sleeping

Everything so clean, maintained and polished. Dinner in "The Kitchen" was superb. Wonderful starter , main and dessert for 62 euro. Delicious fillet steak and truffle risotto. We were in the new wing for bedroom. It was nice and spacious with view of the forest. Also a large bathroom but shower was small. Pressure was good in shower. Bar staff pleasant and house champagne good . It would need to be at 70 euro a bottle. !!!!
Very fine wine list and bar cocktails, those on the list only, were top class.
I did nt try the Spa but my husband raved about the jacuzzi and sauna. !! So next time ...

We stayed here for two nights. Good meals an had a falconry display. Overall a pleasant experience.

Beautiful hotel, with wonderful grounds. Waitresses in the restaurant were good. Staff at check-in weren't up to standard expected for a hotel of this price. Disappointing

Staff go well beyond the norm to look after guests, and the grounds aren't too shabby either.

Lovely as always, light afternoon tea delicious, eaten outside in the beautiful garden or in the lovely lounge

Warm welcome, friendly staff, luxurious room, fluffiest towels/robes we've ever had! Had 3 course meal which was exceptional, lovely ambience with beautiful background music. Had scallops to start followed by duck for mains & cheeseboard to finish, delicious.
Would have liked some background music over breakfast as tables were quite close together.

Great job on the outdoor tent which is a lovely addition to the estate. The whole family liked the pizzas and the pints went down well too. The kids enjoyed the movie that was on and the only downside was that there were no heaters or heat lamps to keep us warm.

We had a day out with clay pigeon shooting and archery and golf driveing range and Guinness lots of it .Great day thanks to my good wife for the voucher. Lovely present.

This was a most restful and enjoyable holiday,everything was first class and we cannot wait to go back again

Fantastic folks. 6 of us from Glenkeen Angling Club ventured down to Mt Falcon and spent 2 days fishing and one overnight stay in one of the stunning lodges. What can I say other than this place is amazing. The hospitality, surroundings and the relaxed atmosphere gives for a peaceful and most enjoyable stay.
We spent two days fishing the Mt Falcon stretch and even being late in the season had an truely unbelievable experience. Stewart, Michael and John guided us through every section of the Mt Falcon stretch and put us onto fish, with first timers catching their first ever Atlantic Salmon and myself rewarded with my personal best with a Salmon just under 10lb. Great time had and we are already planning our next trip. Seriously folks it's worth every penny and more. On behalf of the team at Glenkeen Angling Club we really appreciate the work behind the scenes that ensured we had a fantastic experience. See you again next year.

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mount Falcon. The hotel is beautiful and the room was spacious and comfortable.

The pool, sauna, and steam room were very relaxing.

I spent a fair bit of time in the bar and the bar staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

The food is off the charts. I had quail followed by venison. Both memorable (especially the quail).



When we arrived back in Wicklow we had no case. When I rang the hotel I spoke with Christina. What a star, she was travelling to Mullingar the next day and arranged to meet us there to pass over the case.

All the staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful - Christina is a testament to this.

I would highly recommend a visit and I'm only annoyed that we didn't stay another night (or two!)

Grounds are lovely for walking. Kitchen restaurant has wonderful food. Went for small 40th get together. Staff were very accommodating

First time to visit Mount Falcon, very nice drive way to the hotel surrounded by beautiful old trees. The entrance door is amazing, high ceilings, carvings in the timber work is amazing. I had sea bass, it was so fresh and totally enjoyed my choice. I had chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream. The waitress poured hot chocolate sauce over the fondant. It was simply fantastic. The staff were helpful, friendly and service excellent. I would definitely visit again.

Our room was next the loading dock and dumpster which seemed to be busy earlyin the morning. Our reservations where made 6 months ago.

Poor breakfast, no sockets beside bed and only 2 teabags per room per day. Only hot food after 5pm is set dinner for 59 euros. Room was lovely though.

Beautiful country house hotel and estate - with the highest standards of service.
An ideal getaway for salmon fishing on the Moy, for foodies, for couples and well setup for families. Very good Covid19 hygiene controls.

My grandson Brett Fisher (14 years old) posted a very negative review of Mt. Falcon which was not accurate and inappropriate.

Nice houses and gardens. Food a bit expensive, staff friendly.

It was the first time in this hotel complex for me. Me and another 4 colleagues in a separate house for a week fishing. The care for anglers was exemplary. The ambience of the entire area was appealing. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and the entire facility. Again and again.

Great wedding venue. Food fantastic the lamb is to die for. Best breakfast menu too .

Stayed at the mount falcon over the weekend for my mother's birthday. Overall the building was beautiful and staff were excellent and the dinner in the evening was beautiful. The reason I couldn't give it the 5 stars was down to to main points. The first was the bar. In a place of this beauty and calibre I just felt little things such as the tonics for gin being a cheap brand, only having one option of a pale ale craft beer (which they ran out of earlier in the day and when it came to the evening had it back but was warm). These are only little things but really does make an experience that much better. The other was a safety concern in the leisure area which was lack of cameras in the gym and pool area. One person Manning both gym and pool. If he was at reception can only see 3/4 of the pool area and cannot see the gym. If he was in the gym then the pool is left unattended and it takes only seconds for something to go wrong in either gym or pool. Now I may stand corrected and there may have been cameras but they would have to have been very well hidden. If so I'm happy to retract this second part. Overall though the stay was absolutely amazing. The grounds were so beautiful and getting to see an actual peregrine falcon was just the cherry on top of it all. Well done and keep up the amazing work.

We've been lucky enough to have been able to attend a wedding at the Mount Falcon. Everything was managed in the most professional way, all regulations were followed to the letter...but a most enjoyable time was had by all, highly recommend for anyone thinking of booking for a special occasion...fantastic staff

Mount Falcon is an oasis of peace and tranquillity situated on the outskirts of Ballina CoMayo. Set in a woodland area it has its own waters on the famed River Moy. The food is excellent here, the setting is spectacular. Visit because 5 stars is not enough for this hotel.

Stains on the doors and toilet facilities, entered the room to find crawling wasps on the carpet. Poor communication between staff and guests on group tours. Would not stay again, over priced / over rated.

Drove from Charlestown to the bar restaurant starving . A wedding seemed tone taking over the whole hotel felt awkward walking past the guests . Spoke to reception who said they would be called to there meal in 10 minutes then we could order food at the bar . Waited 15 mins then were told chef was busy and wasn t going to server food in bar !! Not happy . Had to drive far for food . Does everything stop because of a wedding. Impossible to access menus from website . This has happened before . Maybe you should ask people to phone on your website before driving all the way there for nothing

Really loved our stay here, friendly, welcoming and helpful staff especially Deirdre, Saoirse and Rianna in the kids club made sure our 3 little ones were well entertained while mammy and daddy had a quiet drink in the bar. The Woodlands lodges were fantastic and cosy with plenty of room. Loved our stay...
