I love this place!
I go in often for a six pack and try new produce. I love how much variety in produce is stocked!
Good coop with the selection you would expect. Everything isn't necessarily expensive. Their meat isn't bad
Amazing amazing market! To be honest, I m no natural organic type of person, but I love the Co-op!!! Would regularly stop on my way through Moscow for a tasty treat and dinner. The sandwiches are always realizable and great, and the rotating menu which kind souls bring in is usually interesting and tasty. Go Saturday s before noon for some supreme and awesome pulled pork. Additionally, they have a great selection of craft beer here and a large case of just 12oz cans and 22oz bottles. For a cheap $2-3 per can it is very affordable to try man different beers. Or make a customized six pack!
The best place I have ever bought groceries. Wish I could take it with me as I move away. An awesome community hub.
So many fresh products. Particularly the sausages, the "pudding parfait"!
I miss the Coop like it used to be when it first started and was in the old KFC building - the modern employees do good work too though, just miss the oldest incarnation often.
They have a fantastic selection of organic and fair trade foods. Some of their prices are much higher than at other grocery stores that carry the same thing, but not always. Their bakery and deli foods are delicious. Watch the ingredient list carefully because they only use organic sugar in roughly half the items. Sometimes their cupcakes are superb and other times they taste like dry muffins.
Great breakfast bar and bakery. Fast service, friendly people.
Overpriced place to shop, they are usually understaffed
'Always my first stop out grocery shipping. they really care about the products they sell. Very good organic and natural selection in food and supplemental products. They also do special orders which is cool but they never call me when they can't get something (which has happened three times now). Still, I love this place. Good food, good wine selection, awesome meat selection.
Their sign says "Open to everyone every day" and yet they harass people who are mask exempt.
Everything is very high quality and fresh and tasty. I especially like the curry chickpea salad! I also enjoy the local cheeses and fresh vegetables. I really like big thick hard parsnips in the winter time.
Lovely little food co-op with a great selection and friendly service. Their deli and coffee bar is amazing, too!
Too much prepackaged, garbage producing convenience food. Another "Food Co-op" that has lost the balance between "idealism" and "economic success".
The Staff are all very friendly and eager to help. They have a counter located in a central area staffed by someone to answer questions and assist in helping to find products. They are knowledgeable about products and Nutrition. I really enjoyed a great sandwich. They have a big variety of fresh bread also!
I worked there for 5 years and met a lot of good people and lifelong friends while being there. It is a good place to support and a beacon of our community.
Love to sit in there, have some organic food, buy some good cheese -love Taleggio and fresh mozzarella at the moment- chat with friends who happen to like the same place, walk through its corridors and look at the artists works hanged at it's walls
I enjoy spending time at the co-op doing homework, as they have wifi, a coffee bar, and a down-to-earth ambiance. Furthermore, the staff are generally friendly and happy to answer questions about the store and its products.
A couple qualms I have with this establishment, however, include expensive gluten-free options, and a soup bar that is seemingly always running short on fresh soup. Don't get me wrong; the soup here is usually tasty (they tend to use coconut milk in a lot of their soup recipes, though, which I am not a fan of), and they nearly always have a vegetarian option. However, there have been multiple occasions where most (or all) of the soups are practically gone. A bit annoying.
Additionally, the prices between the downtown and campus locations do not seem to be equivalent, which is somewhat bothersome. Just my two cents.
Appreciate the mask ordinance but bring back the salt stick!
Wish I had store like this near me , great place I go whenever I make it to Moscow.
Two stars because of the worst customer service. I was in there and walked past 5 employees. None of which bothered to say hello or ask if I needed help and I made eye contact with them. I used to love to come to the coop but my recent visits have been filled with disappointments. I suppose I ll just keep shopping in huckleberrys at Rosauers. At least they re employees acknowledge your existence.
They have food in bulk and that is amazing. Good job, Russia! Thank you for your amazing service.
the Co-op always has great and unique food items and personal care supplies. I make an effort to stop there every time I'm in the area. Try their coconut macaroons, you won't be disappointed.
Had great healthy lunch at the Cafe. Self serve, low cost, great people watching.
Ive recently moved here to moscow, and prior to that id never been in the area heck i didnt know a person!! I got a job at the co-op and instantly fell inlove with the people, and the community that revolves around the co-op. They have the best products and the best service for sure! And the co-op wont hesitate to become your second home!!
A Moscow staple, great little CoOp with a wide selection and friendly staff. I always try to pop in whenever I'm in town.
A perfect experience every time. They have bread so good it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.They have beers you cant find anywhere else in the Palouse (Paulaner), they have amazing cafeteria food, and great selections for people who either have special diet needs, want to eat more healthy, or just want to support the community. I can't recommend this place enough, even as a poor college student this place was worth the higher prices.
I've been an owner for 4 years now. I really enjoy the Co-op. The parking situation can be iffy, especially during the lunch rush. The hot food bar is sometimes running low by the time I'm there on my break. Some items are a little pricey but the quality is always good. The employees are also great.
I shop here often. I really like their fresh loaves of bread and their raw milk. They also carry the local creamery's labneh which is delicious. They have a hot and cold food bar and salad bar, all fresh, as well as fresh sandwiches made to order. Their sandwiches are quite good and they provide many options as well as custom options. Enjoy!
I am not sure about other products. But the gluten free prices made me walk right out of the store. Gluten free prices are more than double from wheat based products. Why are people that need to shop for gluten free food get penalized with higher prices. I shop for gluten free because I have problems with wheat bothering my digestive system. Dont think my wallet will let me shop at coop again.
The Moscow food Co-op is a wonderful place as far as organic food is concerned. Most items are pricey, however they are of good quality and they offer lots of food varieties. They have xylitol in bulk for a good price ranging around 7 dollars a pound. One of their best deals I've seen would be their organic apple cider vinegar at about 18 dollars a gallon. They make wonderful fresh food items such quinoa salad or mango chicken salad. I even learned to make both of these salads based on the ingredients label and they are both delicious. They have brown eggs and good meat. Their bulk foods area is loaded with variety. One of my favorites they carry is a gallon jar of Bragg's liquid aminos. All their fruits and vegetables are organic and not genetically modified or covered in pesticides. To sum it up the Moscow food Co-op is a great place to shop however you need some extra money to be able to go there often.
Great place high quality ingredients that no one else in town has. Try their sausages, they're excellent.
Quality products, excellent staff, clean facilities. Focus on local and sustainable goods, P6 program keeps your money in the local economy, all around superior market. Plus, they serve the best coffee in town and their deli food is great.
I love the Co-Op. I do not live in Moscow, but when I am there the Co-Op is a must see stop. Like a National Park or something. I know, it is just a grocery store, I do not get it either. Just a cool place.
The co-op has the best bakery in town from a grocery stand point. I have a wheat allergy and the cookies, bread and pasta options taste awesome!
The Moscow Food Co-Op is a a favorite destination for my daily walks. My favorites are their homemade bread loaves, their candles, cards and wine and cheese selection. The employees are very friendly.
One of my favorite places! Always a very happy atmosphere, with very friendly people. Prices are high, but so is the quality!!!
I recently moved here and I've been finding myself in this place at least 3 times a week for the coffee. It is like whole foods but better imo. They have a great friendly staff, great place to grab lunch. It is on the pricey side but they have top quality local goods. Only downside is the food bar is expensive ($8.49/lb) which adds up really quick which results in me going somewhere else. But i think they will keep improving
Great for vegans! They always have vegan food in the hot bar (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Some of my favorite dishes I've tried include the vegan enchiladas and vegan lentil loaf. They have a salad bar and vegan baked goods including cupcakes. Everything is clearly labeled. You can also stock up on vegan grocery items like ice cream, yoghurt, field roast etc.
Watch your receipt and make sure you get one! I was there today and was charged for 5 items I did not buy and the cashier did not offer me my receipt until I asked for one. Then I saw why my bill was so high! 5 items were on it that I did not buy. It is bad enough that the store is outrageously expensive, but ridiculous that I was charged for items I did not buy and the cashier wasn't even going to give me my receipt!!!
best atmosphere in town, great to have lunch with a friend, grab a nice coffee, try new beers, get all your ingredients for a new recipe, and PIZZA ON FRIDAY. I love the Moscow food co-op. can be a little expensive, but not the worst co-op i've been to!
The produce must be the best in the region (farmer's market excepted). You can buy eggs from local farms, and I'm sure they taste better than grocery store eggs. Those are my favorite items here, but they stock many other wonderful things.
This place was great but now they are changing too much. The chicken is a different brand and more expensive and they seem to be going with only the package sealed steak which half the time is bad. Must ve new ownership because I will not be renewing my membership due to their sh@ty changes.
Daily soups are a little hit or miss, but when they're a hit, they're a Jon Jones superman punch to the face kinda hit. Great environment for shopping, studying, and starting a semi-weekly, "co-op soup with the boys" group.
I love that I was able to stop for some fresh vegetables on my annual pilgrimage north to cooler temperatures. This grocery will be one that I will stop at in future snowbirding journeys.
Pin may be in the incorrect place for this merchant (?) Great co-op, worth joining. Organic veggies, meats, cheeses; classes on cooking and growing your own food held often. Try the berry-bran muffins, made in house!
The Moscow Co-op is the heart and soul of the Moscow/Pullman community. The food and coffee are great along with the groceries.
Great selection of organic products, bulk items and freshly baked breads. They will take back your used egg cartons and even collect your wine corks.
The coop used to be great. And if you are going for groceries they still are. But the hot bar and cold bar have been lacking for a while now. They put out pulled pork with no buns and seem to only serve Mac & cheese and calzones. They have stopped making any of the good dishes they used to make. I have been a coop member for a long time so it is disappointing.
Joined the Food Co-op as soon as we moved to town. Consistently high quality food, their deli, bakery and salad bar are first rate. The ambiance and friendliness are so Moscow.
Are you in Moscow? Are you looking for something local and something organic? Do you want to support the local community? Esp the local student community? Do you want to do something that doesn't benefit the big corporations? Well then head on over to Moscow Co-op! The energy of the place is fantastic. The staff is great. The quality and variety of goods available is spectacular. After this, why would you want to go anywhere else?
Its amazing that a company can afford for its employees to be disrespectful to who they have considered different politically or socially. Those are children at work there, and the last thing adults and serious people need while they're grabbing grocerys, is some college child, virtue signaling their incompetent foundation of beliefs. Let's just keep about clean, local food Co-op.
Little spendy, good service, good selection of alcohol and their .69c cane sugar soda is really good.
The Co-op is a great place. Excellent for grabbing lunch as a high schooler years ago and still as wonderful today.
Very helpful in making a large, quality order for a party, and have been consistently top-notch for all of our grocery needs. Thank you!
I don't buy many groceries here but I love their coffee and deli. Getting their pizza and a build-your-own salad for lunch is legit.
Love this place!! Cleanest food around! From the produce all grown within a 250 mile radius to the buffet style cafe, this place is QUALITY!
Love our Co-op! Try the green man tea, really good! Thank you to Marcus and Erin and other employees who make it special
Outstanding co-op. Love the staff and fresh food and pre-made food options. Their coffee is great also!
The selection of locally grown, fresh fruit, vegetables and other foods is great! The selection for various items is very good and the customer service is average for a local business. They do not just sell food though, they also have hand crafted products and various goods. I will say many of the products are a bit pricey, most likely because they are coming from a third party. If you want quality food though, you can't choose better.
Always helpful staff and of course the food is yummy
It's different than larger chain stores such as Albertsons and Walmart. You can listen to the music that someone is playing live outside in front of the store. I would recommend stopping here when you're in Moscow, Idaho and check it out for yourself.
My friend (who is a person of color) was recently hired there and was told that she was probably a diversity hire , whatever that means, she received little to no training. 0/10 would NOT recommend. If you re a poc looking for a job, please look elsewhere since you ll probably just be hired to show diversity within the company. I would rate this place 0 stars but it wouldn t let me :-)
Another wonderful experience at the Moscow Food Co-op. Yummy, healthy deli choices as well as great, fresh produce!
I have always liked this store. I joined about a month ago.
Amazing baked goods and exciting lunch selections. One of the best co-ops I've ever been to.
Love the co-op! We can't shop here for our everyday needs due to it being pricey (as with all health foods stores) but they carry a lot of great items. We particularly love the uncured bacon and house-made sausage/bratwurst. We also love that they sell craft beer and cider individually so that we can try different brews without committing to an entire pack. I can buy one of my favorite stouts here (Old Rasputin) at a reasonable price! And if you like bread - try the salted french. They even get the baklava right, and that's a very difficult pastry to bake well!
Fantastic selection of environmentally conscious products and delicious healthy foods. Whether you want breakfast, lunch, or dinner - they have hot and healthy foods for you. Free water with cups is a really cool addition, and the new kombucha taps are delicious and have plenty of different flavors. Lack of seating during lunch hours, so watch out for that. But other than the seating - the coop is perfect for pretty much everything.
Has a variety of options difficult to find in regular grocery stores. Some really good soups for rhose willing to try something new.
If you wanna risk getting sick, eat there. It's like Russia roulette at this point. I've been sick after eating there 3 out of 5 times-- Which sucks because it's the only place in town with delicious roasted veggies. I wanna love you Moscow food coop, but this is ridiculous and I'm not the only one it's been happening to.
I am very impressed by this store! The employees are extremely helpful and the store itself is very well organized, with a huge selection. The salad bar is excellent and they have great homemade selections of breads, baked goods, and entrees, including gluten-free and vegan. I shopped here several times before I became a co-op owner. Now I get special sales and events that I am invited to. I feel the management and owners all take pride in the store and really want it to be the best possible.
I came in wearing a Titleist golf cap and felt a little out of place, but they still took care of me and gave me an excellent cup of coffee and decent bagel. Not sure if I missed something, but I had to buy a tub of cream cheese since they didn't offer that with the bagels.
Awesome customer service! Amazing sausage! Will definitely be back
Great selection and fresh produce. Friendly people here as well.
Eat, shop, study, support the local farmers and businesses!
Excellent customer service, good people.
Edit: the workers are treated poorly - HR department is more likely to gossip about individuals problems rather than attempt to help. Management is a nightmare & cleanliness has degraded severely over the last three years.
Workers: If you suffer from mental health disorders, don't expect sympathy - expect to be fired.
It seems best to hide your problems rather than express them...
Better Business Bureau anyone???
It's usually busy when we go, and takes a while to check out. Selection is fantastic local products, raw milk, bulk items. If we could afford to shop there all the time we would! The sandwiches at the deli are delicious, their fresh baked bread is also amazing.
Like I said if we could afford to shop there all the time we would. I wish there were more cashiers as there's normally a wait when we go to check out. and it can be hard to maneuver in the store when it's really busy on the weekends. the place gets pretty packed.
If you like the smell of patchouli and don't like to shave this is the place for you! Delicious food great beer selection organic shopping local feel.
Just want to once again shout out to the Co-op for all that they're doing to keep employees and visitors safe at this time. The food is always spectacular, and I'm loving the easy access to safety supplies for use and sale right up front. They will continue to get my ongoing support.
Only giving 2 stars because the nice cashier gave me back my $5 for a stale sandwich that accurately represents the overpriced and mediocre products that I can get for half the price at WinCo. Seriously the same pint of icecream is $3 more here than at your regular grocery store :(
