Like some of the other reviewers here, we've bought and sold several properties before. We decided to purchase again after renting for a couple of years, and we started working with an agent that we felt we'd developed a genuine rapport with. We were shown a property in the Niagara area, and we fell in love with the place. The seller accepted our first offer, and we immediately called Brad to arrange financing. Happily ever after? Unfortunately not. Our agent talked us into a new offer, and although Brad and Mark both expressed concerns to us about this deal, like a couple of crazy kids (in our 50s) we figured, let's go for it!!! Cue the bad decision. The deal closed this week, but with missing paperwork, issues with the seller's ethics, issues at the property, and bad advice from our agent, this new deal could have been a huge mistake. I emailed Mark to let him know how unhappy I was. I believe we've been misguided, and Mark phoned me today and explained how he and Brad had tried to warn us. Mark and Brad genuinely wanted us to be happy with whatever deal we took, and Mark went to bat for us again today to make sure that this new deal will in fact close as satisfactorily as possible for us. My advice is, when you hear one thing from your agent, and the (right) thing from Brad or Mark...listen to the Mortgage Man. Thanks again guys. Andrea and James
