Egregiously Poor Service! On March 1st 2020, I went to our well known Band-Aid Station AKA - Morrow County Hospital for a back problem or better known as sciatica pain, or dead leg. I seriously dreaded going even though the pain was murder and my right leg was numb. As a long time county resident, we are all well aware of the stella poor service, over-charging and billing issues. Anything major, you going to be transported elsewhere, so why go?

The intent was to get some x-rays, which if you know anything about x-rays and sciatica,the x-rays won't show pinched nerves or nerve damage. However, anyone with any knowledge of insurance knows insurance carriers will not authorize an MRI without prior x-rays.

I personally will give Ohio Health major kudos as I have never had a problem with ANY doctor(s), nurse(s) or billing issues! I mean they have always been on top of their game. SO... I hobble in and thankfully, because they are affiliated with Ohio Health, check-in was a breeze! It was a Sunday morning that took all but 5 minutes. about 5 minutes later a nurse came to get me. I explained my issue, my pain (a 10) and my intent to get x-rays. Nope we do not do that for sciatica. Instead, 5 minute later, she came back in and gave me a shot of pain killers and a steroid. $85 worth from the E.R Pharmacy which we all know is like triple the amount. The E.R. doctor NEVER came in to see me. Instead, to make sure I wasn't having a allergic reaction. I had to wait another 10 minutes and I was on my way with a Rx for Kroger Pharmacy.

Due to Covid, I was able to get in at my family Dr. on March 11th. at the Northfield Medical Group on S.R. 42, which they are AWESOME! I was there nearly an hour and my Doc charged $291. That is reasonable compared to Dr. Hafiz Ayub (MD) of $840.00 and I never seen him! I told my doc I wasn't leaving without x-rays and no problem! Got them right there! In fact, his nurse and him went ahead and submitted request to my insurance for an MRI at BMX Imagine in Marion. A few days later, we were both shocked that they agreed to the MRI and my doctor's AWESOME nurse even scheduled and took care of all of the paperwork! All I had to do was show up! After getting my MRI, my doctor called and we found the cause... a very badly ruptured disc. That MRI was $3037.61, which I only paid $25.26.

So, here we are now in mid July and I used to live on the south side of the county near Marengo. A bill came for the E.R visit and the owner got talking to a prior neighbor who knows me and took and got a hold of me to ensure my correct address and sent the bill to me. $397.98 (my portion) of the $1012.88 for piss poor service on March 1st.

It's also worth noting that the Dr. Ayub MD is not with Ohio Health, but through Ohio Emergency Care Serv Inc. Another piss poor service provider! So before going to MCH, think twice and go elsewhere if possible!

Ok well first off i started off i went there today at about 930 am and got in quick called ahead of time and explained i was driving in but couldnt breath and i got there immediately they got me in and hooked up immediately wonderful staff there was one though that i really haven't gotten off my mind dunno why she was very attentive to me very beautiful nurse name alexis wonder doc as well he was great they didnt want me running off right away cause i was on medicine but work comes before anything to me. But alexis i really hope u get this i would lime to take u out to dinner i dont ever do this but im sure u remember me my hat said Rhino but as far as everyone u guys were all great

Definitely don't come here unless I absolutely need to. You wait forever when you're the only one in the waiting room. The staff itself I don't really have a problem with, they are usually pretty nice but just slow. If you can make it somewhere else you're probably better off !

Well...I needed to go to the ER last night. It was late and foggy so I asked my boyfriend just to take me there. What a mistake...

First the check in nurse...just not very nice, nothing offensive, but when someone is out waiting for help, making them stand forever ,to me, isn't right. Then while telling her the embarrassing heath issue I was told "I'll put you down for abdominal pain. Which wasn't the issue at all. The nurse who I saw in the back was asking me 'why didn't you go to the hospital by your house?' I've never, ever, had an ER treat me like I shouldn't have gone there. My boyfriend tried to help me answer, and she snapped at him, all he was doing was explaining that I was staying with him and thats why we chose this ER.

Then the doctor does an xray, no blood, and then send me home within the hour with something I told them I already tried, and I was told to go.

That medicine didn't work, now I'm just in that much more pain, and i have to go to another hospital to get the help I needed last night.

And if youre the one who looks at these reviews and respond, don't tell me to call. My boyfriend asked for a complaint form and of course in the whole hospital, they didn't have any and I should fill out the survey I get.

I've never been told I shouldn't go to an ER. Ive never been told to go to another ER, and ive never not had blood work even pulled to make sure I'm okay because I have a lot of illnesses.
The trip out was a total waste of time.

I won't be going back, no matter how bad off I am.

I will give this hospital 0 stars as this was the last straw. I have been a resident of this community for years and know a few key people in this facility. The people I know are what I perceived as being top quality. It is a shame that they are surrounded by incompetent and insulting co workers. I recently went to get some blood taken for lab work. the second I walked through the door I knew this was going to go bad. I was shot a look as if I was interrupting the receptionists social time. when I handed her the order from the Dr it started. The Paperwork didn't look like what she was use to seeing so she took it to the back. She came back and said sorry I cant help you this is signed by the Dr's assistant. Funny thing is the same person signed the paperwork just 3 weeks earlier with no problems. then she acted like she might care a little and tried the Dr's office. they were not open and I was told very bluntly that they could not accept the paper work and there was nothing they could do. with a snide Sorry rolling off her tongue. This is just the icing on the cake for me because of decades of billing mistakes and fighting over miscoded procedures. We as a community do not need this type of Non service from a place we pay taxes to keep open. This front desk women should be taken out of that position and put out cleaning the parking lot or something. the billing should be fixed. it is not rocket science to do coded billing I have worked in the insurance industry. I know its not that hard. Its not easy but its Really not that hard if this is what you do for a living.. Seriously. I guess our only recourse is to not go there and vote no on any and all levies that support this place.

July 4th: Nice try to put the ball in my court with a rubber stamp response but it seems if you really care you would call us and not expect us to give 2 hoots if you get the details on something you have not or most likely will ever address. My mom was admitted thru the ED recently. Both her ED and hospitalist Dr. Singh were great. I candy striped at Morrow County 40 years ago before becoming an RN and working at many different size institutions and thus was not certain what type of care she would receive. Her healthcare is very complex, she has 5 specialists! The staff at the hospital were very competent and caring and I m probably not the easiest to please. So glad the community fought for this community hospital!

My experience was horrible. I wanted to go to a different hospital but EMS took me there even though I specifically said not to. I immediately signed myself out and they had the nerve to bill be $610 to sit on the corner of a bed for five minutes. The doctor billed me $400. I have called and called but keep getting told that "someone", no one will tell me who, deemed the treatment appropriate.
