"Buy Happy" is the biggest farce...
"Buy Happy" is the biggest farce...
I'll be honest, some of my recent experience with Morrie's Automotive Group was my own fault. In 2016, I purchased a brand new 2016 F-150 from Morrie's Buffalo Ford. While the sales experience went fine aside from the fact that the finance department tried to force me to buy Morrie's in-house powertrain package vs. ESP, it was unremarkable. The sales staff weren't the friendliest...the only person that seemed genuine was the used car manager, an older gentlemen who seemed like he really was out to help make the experience as good as possible. That's where the good experience ended. I was told by their service manager, Shawn Sodren multiple times that if I continued to try to get my vehicle fixed, I would no longer be welcome at their dealership. He claimed the manager, Brett Kramer was in full support (although he denied that). Nevertheless, that vehicle turned out to be a lemon...and the problems that Morrie's claimed didn't exist, not only existed, but created a huge headache for my wife and I before it was finally addressed, but not by Morrie's who should have fixed the vehicle to begin with. Fast forward to now. My wife saw a vehicle she wanted to replace one of our commuters. Against my better judgment, we purchased from another Morrie's dealership, Morrie's Nissan in Brooklyn Park. The sales experience was fine, in fact, the salesman we worked with was great. That is, again, where the good experience ended. They tried to hide the fact that the vehicle was in a collision, they did not use the proper oil when refilling (the engine now knocks), the car had bent wheels (their inspection is a joke), the tires were trashed because of the wheels, and the wheel bearings were also shot... to add to it they also tried to hide the fact that they had repainted one of the front fenders to hide the damage. When I confronted them about it, they claimed the vehicle was never known to have any substantial body damage. When I pushed...they then admitted that they...Morrie's...were the ones who had to repaint it. This was a vehicle with a little over 20,000 miles that was less than 3 years old. When I tried to get their help, they ignored me until I started to push. Then when I pushed, they agreed to repaint the fender since they had done such a poor job in the first place. That's it. Within 2 weeks, I had to spend over $1000 in repairs. It needs to go back only a month later. When I said I wanted them to take the car back, they quit answering my messages. When I dropped the car off to get the body work done, the manager didn't even meet with me. They sent someone out to give me the loaner which was an old Kia Soul that was dirty, smelled rancid, had tears in the interior, and stalled on me three times in the 1.5 weeks it took for them to repaint my fender (apparently they need to hire someone who knows how to paint because while they had it, it needed to be redone more than once). When I picked it up, I was just handed the keys in an envelope. Nothing more. They didn't even send someone out to talk to me about it. There has been zero follow-up. They also said they would help me with some of the repair costs, they didn't. It was an absolutely terrible experience. I'll never buy another vehicle from this company again. What I thought may have been limited to one dealership in Buffalo 3 years ago appears to be a systemic, cultural issue. If you truly want to "Buy Happy" then "Buy Somewhere Else."
