This restaurant is overrated. Ambience is mediocre & price is too high. Entree is soft shell crab, presented as a small sandwich. A bit pricey at $9 each. We had toothfish fish which is basically a slice of steamed fish. It definitely not worth $45 as it taste bland, and the soy sauce at the base is way too saltish !! We also had old school fried rice which taste good to me. The serving is huge too. This is the best dish of the day. Service is good & staff is attentive.

Repeat customer here. Previous visits have been great. This time was a total disappointment. Serving sizes have been reduced, prices increased. Great menu items changed to something else similar but mediocre (forget about that classic pork belly bao, it's now lame). All good things must come to an end.

Hands down the best restaurant in Canberra. Best food, best wine, best view, best deep fried ice cream. I don t live anywhere near Morks but it will forever be our only special event date night location.

The waiting service was good, but the food hygiene was poor. After eating at the restaurant my partner and I felt sick as that was the only meal that we ate together. We were celebrating an anniversary and got severely sick for two days with diarrhea and vomiting within an hour or two after eating the food. We had the $75 per person recommendation of their signature dishes and did not taste of quality, as this made my parter and I very sick on a day that was meant to be romantic.

Excellent food and excellent service. George was a particular highlight. When he found out that we were planning a trip to tasmania, he went and wrote a list of his personal recommendations of places to visit and things to do.

Amazing food and amazing service. 'Secret' vegan banquet was very very good, the drinks were better than any bar I've been to and the staff were very friendly, efficient, and helpful. I Highly recommend eating here.

We did the regular banquet dinner for 4. Glorious selection of foods. Just brilliant. Not a fan of lychee sorbet but everything else was very tasty and beautifully presented. Always a favorite restaurant to bring visitors.

Morks is outstanding. Dined here tonight with a friend and between us we have a few dietary restrictions. The staff suggested the let us feed you option and brought us an amazing selection of dishes all tailored to our diets. Every dish was beautiful, the flavours and presentation were fantastic. I can t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

While I only had an entree and a dessert, this did not in the least, limit my enjoyment of Morks. Each dish was produced with excellent detail, supreme taste and balance of flavours. Absolutely superb food that makes me salivate at the prospect of returning and trying more of their menu.

Service throughout the night was prompt, warm and friendly despite a full house!

Well done team

Food portions are tiny and leaning on sweet side. Angel prawn dish is presented well but too sweet. Pastry of Vietnamese pancake is not as light and crispy as the original one. Coconut ice cream is only a small ball. I don't feel it's worth the money to go back there again.

Went there recently for dinner. during a business trip to Canberra. I was excited to try the place after looking at the reviews and the menu.
I have to say, I am stunned as to why people rate this restaurant so high. There was nothing that matched the price tag of the meals. Not the venue and vibe, not the taste of the food, not the portion sizes, not the service. Don't get me wrong - the service and food was good, but not to the standard that you would expect from a place that charges so much for it.

First of all, none of the dishes we tried had much, if anything, to do with Thai food or flavours. Meals were of good quality, however lacked depth of flavour and presentation was boring and below average. We tried the fried tofu with peanut sauce and ginger as entree. Weird combination - I mean who mixes the taste of peanut sauce that you usually get on Satay sticks with Ginger that typically goes with Sushi or Japanese dishes?? Never seen anything like it in Thailand.

The 12hr beef ribs - 3 chunky strips of beef without any form of presentation and zero sides with it - for 50$ ??? are you guys kidding me? On top of that they were fairly chewy and not really tasty and enjoyable to eat.

Then we had had the Spicy pork curry with Roti. Never had that type of Roti before -it was like bits of puff pastry. Not enjoyable at all. The pork curry was watery and lacked depth of flavour, very small portion too and presentation not better than in a food court. And that for 40$ !

We paid 160$ for two people and left disappointed. If at least the food was outstanding then the price would have been ok. But it wasn't.
Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone as you can get a lot better food for much less elsewhere.

Sorry guys but if you charge like a fine dining restaurant, you have to up your game and delivery food that matches the price tag!!!

Best restaurant on the Foreshore. I was never hungry leaving the place. The food is always delicious and full of taste no matter what you choose, and there is a nice and large choice of drinks, with or without alcohol. If you like Thai food, go for it, you will love it !

Wonderful Thai fushion cuisine. We arrived at peak time and given a table near the kitchen. Without prompting they later moved us to a better table once other diners had left. So thoughtful! Staff genuinely warm, friendly and gracious. Loved the whole experience. We were visiting from Melbourne and definitely will be back. It really made our Canberra trip. Thanks again!!!

Holy smokes, this place blew me away. The food here is beyond imagination, its a modern take on classic Thai food. I went here for my birthday and wasn't disappointed at all. We did the 3 course Banquet here, the staff were excellent to. I recommend trying out the Soft shell crab sandwich, the kangaroo salad, Beef short rib, crispy pig and ending up with the delicious fried ice cream. We also got a complimentary glass of bubbles to go with it all. Good going team :)

I don't normally leave reviews, but I really felt as though this restaraunt deserved it. My family and I were down in Canberra for the weekend from Sydney, and I found this place online (had great reviews). It certainly lived up to expectations... we ordered the Crab Rotti, Pumpkin Dumplings, Pork buns and the lamb shoulder. It was absolutely delicious - all meals were presented perfectly and tasted amazing. The service was great - they were very attentive and friendly. The decor was lovely, and spacious.. even though it was busy you didn't feel crammed. Keep up the good work! Will definitely come again.

Have been to Canberra a few times but had never been to Morks before. Our friends are regulars there and I can see why. Great food. Interesting fusion of flavours. Angel prawns certainly the star of the menu.

Ultra friendly and helpful service.

We will be back next time we are in Canberra :-)

Customer service is absolutely amazing!! Catered to my dietary requirements so well. I didn t get the waiter s name but the Asian looking one has 10/10 customer service. Better than most of the fine dining places I go to. Food was great too! I highly recommend the pork shoulder and the cod.

By far the best Thai restaurant in Canberra, The care that goes into every dish is phenomenal (also helps when the wait staff is on point) these guys know their stuff. I have to say I m not usually a seafood person but the smoked caviar and soft shell crab has definitely opened my eyes, thank you.

it's a darkish/semi formal kind of vibe, the prices are a little bit expensive. it's really modern and deliciously fusion-like. a nice place for couples. We did have to wait for a table and we got one outside but it was cold even with the heaters but at least we got to eat :)

Four people attended Morks. Lots of trendy young waiters who were keen to have you eat so the next session could come in. We shared entrees of angle prawns (4) and stuffed zucchini flowers (4) at a cost of $44. Mains were fish ($45), curried pumpkin or sweet potato, curried octopus and eggplant (all around the $30 mark) plus rice for 4 which was on the skimpy side. The fish was so small and just a bite each. It was basically a piece of white flesh in a sweet sauce. Curries were flavoursome but on the small side. Eggplant (4 pieces) was probably the standout of the mediocre meal. No BYO so we chose a local Canberra wine for $60. Bill was around $250. For the portion sizes and flavours the meal was not that terrific, so overall I believe over priced, however try for yourself.

We went for lunch for my sister in law's birthday. I have been many times but it was a first for the 3 others. The service, as always, was outstanding with friendly smiles and efficient service. The food blew everyone away from the first bite of our pork buns to the last scraped spoonful of the Monkey Magiv dessert.
Thanks for such an amazing time. Cannot recommend it enough!
