Morans Eating House Review

Amazing service, lovely atmosphere, food is really nice and love that they have a different selection of cakes whenever I go in.

Perfect combination of great service and unpretentious tasty food, have been here several times with all of my (our) extended families and everyone has enjoyed the experience. Oh and great beer too.

Excellent service and food. High price but you get what you pay for!

It is a lovely place to eat with good food and fantastic choice of cakes. It can be quite busy.

Visited on a Friday lunch. Waiting staff where attentive but food which were sandwiches took far too long to arrive, nearly an hour.

Great atmosphere & service, had the bacon & cheese panini with salad, really tasty and filling. Would recommend.

I just telephoned to book a table for lunch and was told by the sniffy receptionist that I could not book a table for less than 6 people. Totally unhelpful and would not budge on this, even though there is an event on in Cheltenham that day and we may struggle to get a table. Customer service and profits not a concern apparently!

Have no idea what the food was like as I was so put off by the unhelpfulness I have booked a table with a more accommodating establishment. Sometimes treating your prospective customers with snobbish contempt isn't the way to operate.

Visit regularly for coffee and breakfast. Very popular and good quality.

Whilst the atmosphere and pub itself is lovely the food is the worst meal I have ever. eaten.
Curried chicken lasagne... the top was completely covered decicated coconut and the filling tasted so sweet it was like eating a spiced sweet dessert with chicken in it. The 'Moran's side salad'was just lettuce and cabbage with grated carrot...not really a salad is it. Fusion food never seen before for a reason it appears.
We were there 1.5hours and had 1 drink each due to lack of service. In compensation for my meal I couldn't eat was our diet coke and larger was taken off the bill.....gee thanks.

Nice relaxed restaurant. The food was very tasty and not too expressive for the quality. Be aware that the portions are massive though! I wouldn't be going for a starter first, and I'm not exactly a small eater.

An absolute treat after a lousy visit to hospital.
Fabulous staff, attentive and enthusiastic.
Sat in the sun watching the world go by.
The lunchtime menu is good with something for everyone. I had a delightful wrap and sparkling water for around a tenner. Then followed up with a coffee. Well worth the visit....and yes it was the best way to get the hospital out of my system.
Street parking nearby.

Have not been for a long time as was disappointed on last few visits ..now under new management and we really enjoyed specials from the board. .bacon ,mushroom and brie tart and cottage pie.all homemade..went for a delicious cherry bakewell pud but found a hair in the middle..they refunded the money...will go again as relaxing and enjoyable with original budweiser on tap.

You have to visit this place, food is excellent, staff excellent and the surroundings busy.
This place is always busy, try the soups for lunch, they are homemade and great value, as are the main meals.

Lovely cafe on Bath Rd. Always wonderful freshly baked cakes and lovely coffee kindly brought to your table. Especially nice if you have shopping or a wobbly hand .

Excellent and friendly service - great beer and food. The bar offers coffee and an amazing selection of cakes, along with a tasty menu to cover everything from brunch to a light dinner. For a more exclusive eating experience, try the restaurant - food is lovely and sensibly priced. It's a great bar for both day time and evening visits and is popular with local residents and workers.

The food is realibly good, I've never had a bad meal there. Today I had a crayfish, avacado & lemon mayo wrap, I really enjoyed it. Staff are always friendly and the service is good.

Visited Morans for lunch on Saturday just before 12 noon. Although we hadn't booked, they were able to find us a table for two. We had to wait around twenty minutes to order food and drinks but it did appear fairly busy. The food once ordered didn't take long to arrive and was enjoyable. I went for the bacon, chicken and avacado ciabatta with salad garnish and dressing. Overall a fairly good experience, the staff were mainly polite, helpful and professional. We would visit again

Every time I've ever been here I really enjoy it. Excellent food served out of a tiny kitchen. Each time I go for food the menu seems different with interesting specials which aren't charged at crazy prices. Can't wait to go back again!

We always love Morans - nice atmosphere - can get a bit busy at times - nice glass of merlot with chilli and nachos is good for lunch followed by coffee and a slice of their reasonably priced cake. Staff can be a bit unfriendly at times but hey i don't go on there to make a new friend!

Good selection of beer and wine. Atmosphere is nice. Food is nothing to get excited about.

Always great food. 12 people for Christmas lunch today and it was well presented with all of the dishes arriving on time First class meal equalled only by the service.

Apart from the consistently superb food (easily the most delicious soups in Cheltenham), the courteous, efficient and friendly staff make a visit to Moran's a positive experience every time, and I've been going to the coffee house (the right hand half of Moran's as opposed to the restaurant on the left, which doubles up as a wine bar in the evening) almost weekly since 2001. My only negative is that it is so popular it is sometimes hard to hear people talk, but that's my problem, and the new extension has better acoustics than the old conservatory.

Menu selection was excellent, meal was superb and very well priced. For Cheltenham, this is the best.

One of the best meals in a while. Had steak kidney and mushroom suet pudding with bubble and squeak for main. Dessert was particularly lovely - Eton mess

Extremely busy, hard to find a table, but well worth it as it has one of the best bacon rolls I have ever eaten and an amazing aray of gorgeous cakes.

Nice eating house. Can be busy and service is a bit hit and miss. Waited 45mins for a toastie and had to chase 3 times. Staff didn't want to explain delay.

It's good to visit a restaurant that takes COVID seriously and assertively whilst maintaining a friendly and frankly cost friendly modern day tasty menu. Lunch was like the old days - felt safe - thanks

Was in town for training and they took me here for dinner. I have to say the beer selection was excellent. I mentioned I was a fan of ambers and they happened to have a amber on cask - was fantastic. Bartender was excellent.
We retired to the dining room for dinner where I had the lamb shank which was good. The wait staff was very attentive and did a great job.

Fantastic evening with two special friends in a lovely eating house, fantastic food and a just a fab night.

Christmas menu, good starter (spring rolls) and excellent Christmas pudding let down by a very average main course of turkey - looked and tasted processed! First class service, excellent alcoholic drinks and quality coffee at a fair price. Excellent environment for a Christmas function. Shame about the turkey!
