We did a beer sampler and all were very good. We ended up buying some to take back to Dayton, Ohio. We enjoyed pretzel bites with our beer and just would have liked the opportunity to get a few more bites to finish up the dips. Gage our server was pleasant, patient and helpful. A very nice place to sit and enjoy good food and beer.

I have spotted a vehicle with a moose on top walking downtown Dells, and right away looked up the place (thumbs up to whoever designed and made these). It appeared, that Moosejaw has everything I really enjoy, a huge variety of craft beer along with legit pizza and delicious appetizers. First thing I'd like to mention, is an amazing wooden interior all made in wooden cabin style, which completely matches the mood of getaway to Dells. It is very very very nice and cozy in there. Second, the service was outstanding as well, our waiter was very nice and polite, always being over just in time. They also offer those funny moose antlers for every visitor and I found them really hilarious. As to the main part, beer selection is outstanding. There was 12 different kinds of craft beer (I will attach the list as of Late april 2019 to this review) which might not sound as much, however, its more then enough to satisfy anyone's needs. The best part is, they offer 10pc sampler, but weird aspect is that total number of flavors is 2 more. Since we were already into a little tasting, I asked the server to get me samples of numbers 11 and 12 so I can try them as well (which he did) and I didn't regret. Both appared to be legit and number 11 even made it to my personal top 6 (I took a 6-pack of choice to go). The other five were numbers 1, 2, 5, 8 and 9, but its all up to your own personal preferences. I would like to separately mention pickled aspargus that I stole off my gf's Bloody Mary. Altough it sounds quite common, I haven't tried it ever before, but now I looked up recipies of making it and going to do shortly. This was small little touch of a cocktail brought that much attention :) Thank you for that! We ordered a custom pizza, so I can't advise with a flavor, however, the pie itself was thin and crunchy as we ordered, not a bit soggy and all the inredients were drown in the mix of decent sauce and melted cheese as you'd want them to. It gets its spearate 5 stars as well.
Restaurant was very busy even at 3:30. My husband and I took a seat at the bar for a beer and pizza. Was very happy with the excellent customer service that we recieved from Mario behind the bar. Able to taste several in house brews along with our delicious premiun pizza. Thanks to Mario's samples and recommendations not only had a beer onsite but went home with a 6 pack. Will be going back next visit to the Dells.
TLDR: cheap ass cafeteria food for premium prices.
First, the good. Our server, Matt, was polite, efficient, and accommodating. The hostesses were also friendly, and we were seated quickly. However, the food was truly awful. We ordered a pizza for three of us to share. The pizza wasn't fully cooked; the cheese was still in shreds, not fully melted and lukewarm. It tasted frozen. The crust had no flavor and also tasted frozen. I've had Red Baron frozen pizzas that were better (and way cheaper). My oldest daughter didn't want pizza and got fettuccini alfredo. The pasta was ok, but the sauce tasted like cheap jarred and was almost watery. It was also very expensive. This place should save the cash they're spending on PT cruisers with stupid plastic moose on top and spend it on decent ingredients.
Best Pizza (thin crust) in town hands down, great food. funnel cake was good as well. service was a little off. But since the food was amazing ill give it a 5. ohhh and the root-beer is spectacular.
Had burgers and fries that tasted great, they were slightly more rare than we would have liked but that was our fault for not specifying before ordering. Later during our stay in the Dells we had Pizza and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely would recommend and will be back again!
Great pizza delivered right to my hotel room at The Kalahari! The pizza was absolutely delicious, fair priced and the delivery was not only quick but free!
The Hazel s Nut House brown ale tastes like 1000 cross-eyes squirrels are pelting you with hazelnuts while chanting One of us! One of us! But in a good way...
Decided to try this restaurant based on reviews. The service is very good with helpful bartenders taking my order to go. The food was good overall. I had their Swiss mushroom burger with fries. Wife and kids had burgers with fries as well and no complaints. Only misstep was giving us only 4 single serving ketchup packets for 4 meals.
Ordered a BBQ pizza and got a pizza with the same meats but red sauce and not BBQ. We paid for the specialty pizza and we wanted BBQ. Can't call cause they are closed now.. Just check your order and this is why I wish I didn't even order pizza cause buffalo Phil's was closed. Never again will I eat here
Food was good. Hostess sees wife in wheelchair takes us to a booth without asking if she can get in one. Well she can with great difficulty. Should have asked first.
Good basic menu with some local flavor. The brat and cheese soup is very yummy. Friendly staff. Well spaced dining area and clean. (Important during this time) This place has been a Family favorite since they opened years ago.
As we walked in we smelled the hops as they were brewing beer on the balcony right above the entryway. The atmosphere is comfortable and woodsy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got pizza and the brew pub chicken sandwich. All the food was delicious and they have a wide variety of beers to suit any preference. The kids also loved wearing the moose antler hats while we ate. Great place
Initially, I was not impressed. Very noisy with no real focus to any of it. People were talking loud, over the loud-but-not-distinguishable music. The waitstaff was loud. The noise from the kitchen was loud (more to do with where they seated us). My family took a menu to the restroom to discuss what the kids would eat. Then, I noted the paper napkins. With meals ranging from $15-$30 per plate, I couldn't quite reconcile the paper napkins.
But the spinach artichoke dip was plenty good, and the beer cheese soup (starter for my strip steak dinner) was absolutely wonderful. By the time I'd finished the soup and a "jar" of their homebrew root beer, I was ready to be done - full.
Then the steak and potato arrived. The steak was still sizzling on the serving platter. It was 12oz. of lean, well-seasoned protein - grilled with excellent skill. Absolutely worth the wait, and the annoyances entailed therein. The local hop ale (can't remember the exact name) was an excellent complement to the steak. Dessert was not necessary.
Great food and wonderful atmosphere, but when it came to getting our food as well as our check at the end, the wait time was well over 20 minutes and the place wasn't even busy. I say the best option is delivery or pickup.
We were able to eat at the bar. A little expensive for ok food. The pizza was average with a touristy price, but the motzerella sticks were amazing. Maybe the experience would have been better if the bartender had been friendlier.
Everything about this place is great! Really good food and the bartender (big guy, cant remember his name) was hilarious and on top of things. There micro brews were the best I had while in the Dells.
LOVED this place! The pizza was fantastic, I had GF crust & it was on point! Delicious pop in fun glasses, fun tasting a flight of 8 (or 12), the loaded fries were AMAZING!!! And last but not least JEROME went over the top to make sure our experience & meal was perfect!
The decor and atmosphere are amazing! You feel like you are sitting down to a meal at home with friends and family. Staff are friendly, helpful and overall exceptional. Food is delicious. I was a little disappointed the sauce had split on my pasta and the veggies were a bit overdone, but the flavour was spot-on and the shrimp was simply melt in your mouth fantastic. The taco bowl was huge and delicious so no complaints there. They served a fresh out of the garden salsa on the side that was very light and refreshing. The icecream has a home churned flavour and texture and again servings are huge. The overall experience was great. We will certainly be coming back.
This is my go to place every time we get to the dells. Why? Because they never disappoint they have a nicely diversified menu and their signature moose jaw pie is out of this world. They have an awesome kids menu and the fact that they deliver makes it even more convenient!
We stopped by for a later lunch about 1:45 today. We were seated without having to wait and a nice server was at our table to greet us. He served us our drinks right away. Our appetizers and entree s came out very quickly at a reasonable wait. The food was fantastic. I would highly recommend if you re coming to visit the Dells!
