Great museum and good programmation for temporary exhibitions
The museum is very beautiful unfortunately more than an hour of waiting (with reserved tickets) for 40min of museum (visit not finished) and to be thrown 15min before closing
Came here with an avid collector of coins. Guarded and watched by heavy security, we had our bags checked before admission of entry. Totally worth a visit. Coins available at the time of our visit were world cup 2018 coins, special designs by renowned Jean Paul Gaultier, disney specials, etc. There's a paris monnaie museum across the shop too. Grab some french minted coins as souvenirs, it's worth it.
Very interesting and lovely museum, the demo and explanations given by the medal engraver is a fantastic moment.
A museum to visit with friends or family. Simple explanations, presentation of coins from all ages, machines and manufacturing workshop. Wheelchair access provided.
I visited the Kiki Smith exhibition. We don't often see sculptures so intense and full of meaning. The tapestries and the video with the author's interview are very interesting.
Shop where you can buy coins issued by the Paris currency. Please note that you sometimes have to queue as the number of people in the shop is limited.
The piece arrived quickly, in perfect condition and very well packaged.
I approached with the hope of buying some cartridges of Euros or they only had some card with loose coins, nothing of the automatic dispenser that I read in some web.
The currency of Paris is a unique place, steeped in history. To visit absolutely.
The pieces that are so polished that they are perfectly shimmering are great
Loved all the informations about how the coins are made. Beautiful place. Don t forget your blank flan at the entry so you can make your own coin.
Beautiful institution, and a very interesting exhibition with woman house. I am waiting to come back to see the other part of the more historic building.
Currently a temporary exhibition of the Indian Subodh Gupta until late August, the museum will help you to decipher the secrets of the currency.
Great I had the chance to visit the local manufacturing
Great hunt for puzzles to open the chest and have a nice piece of Mickey. Very nice visit
A rich, original, beautiful and well-maintained museum.
However quite expensive, we did not see the machines in action. Pity...
People who don't buy bcp or for cheap are neglected
Very interesting museum on the use of metals for making money. We also see the techniques of making medals and coins. Part is also devoted to counterfeit money.
We also see through the windows the workshops where we make the celebration pieces.
Guy Savoy, one of the greatest chefs, opened his restaurant there. There are exhibitions and a museum. to follow, a new place in Paris
Go for it ! You have different rooms where you immerse yourself in this historical and current world. Small activities are proposed more for adults. Videos are in proposal on the different professions of the construction of the pieces. An open access store offers items at all prices.
Beautiful pieces on display. The film on the production of pieces in Pessac is very interesting and informative. The setting is superb.
Very interesting money in all these forms, compositions, workmanship, colors and over time
beautiful place, and very beautiful expo. well chosen, to my taste
Temporary exhibitions are always hyper interesting and accessible. The museum itself is against all odds also very good even for beginners!
Beautiful area. Special mention to the museum restaurant and its quiet terrace
Modern and educational museum in its interior layout. A discovery of the evolution of artistic and craft techniques towards the current industrial mode. Expo Akan arrives like an ancestral jewel at the end of the course.
Magnificent hotel which has just been restored. Temporary exhibitions are very interesting
This is one of the most underrated sites we visited. I researched the Conti 11 before arriving to Paris and our visit did not disappoint. There is a lot to see here and it s never crowded, we did not visit the exhibition portion as we were tired and pressed for time, but the museum portion was extraordinary. There are also interactive exhibits which is mainly for kids but my husband and I enjoyed them as well. We went on a Saturday and it was not busy at all really quiet and peaceful, the only downfall was that the windows showing the workshops had no people working in them, I assume this would be even more interesting to see the people working on site. Still very cool. The current exhibit is on until February of 2020, seen some of the artists work online, worth seeing if you have the time, visiting just the museum portion is 10 euros and museum plus exhibit is 12 euros. Classy little gift shop on the way out. Will certainly go back next time. There is a little something for everyone.
Museum which is done quickly, not so interesting.
With a guide it would certainly be better otherwise the time may be too long
Great space, and there were some great pieces in the Women House temporary exhibition.
Very peaceful place located near many tourist sites with a huge crowd
The museum offers a fairly complete history of money in general with objects all more original and historical than the others (meter platinum meter, Roman coins, ingots ...)
It also presents the expertise of the Monnaie de Paris and the history of manufacturing processes through fun and educational workshops.
All with the essential contribution of digital.
Do not forget to go through the shop where you will find your happiness.
We had the chance to attend a very beautiful exhibition on the house of Boucheron, his achievements and his know-how. The place is ideally located, not far from the Saint Michel district.
A very interesting museum, great time with even some demonstrations!
It's places full of history, very large and spacious. You can also find in the building the restaurant Struck Bloom and the restaurant of the famous Guy Savoy. Sometimes there are also exhibitions.
Very interesting museum on the production of coins, but information on the history of the building is lacking. Modern art gives a little to the building
I like his medals. But that's not why she does most of her publicity.
His 10 silver coins published each year are a kind of scam.
They are presented as an investment when they are not listed. They do not buy them back. They are resold by the weight of the money they contain (still need to find a buyer ..) that is to say almost below their face value.
Buying it is a sure way to lose money.
Nice museum, well done, quite complete. It was a pleasure.
A fun and original museum. Not too crowded and a nice schedule at the time of my visit
If you are interesting in numismatic, you must visit this museum!
Visited for the Expo of maurizio Cattelan. Magnificent.
Very interesting. Passionate and passionate speaker
At the museum I like the quality of the exhibition. A very nice presentation of coins and monuments. You have to be there to catch your eyes.
Beautiful place and pleasant expo. The permanent museum is reserved for numismatists ...
Very beautiful informative museum and beautiful exhibition on the wallets
Excellent Museum. The staff really made it, they were amazing and knowledgeable and ready to help.
fascinating place, a lovely engraver explained in detail made the visit complete. ended up buying a coin.
From Paul McCarthy to Kiki Smith via Suboh Gupta and Maurizio Cattelan, never disappointed at the Monnaie de Paris exhibitions.
Temporary exhibitions very interesting but much too expensive !! 14 for 30min, do not overdo it!
SCANDALEUX !!!
I wanted to go to the Thomas Shutte exhibition. I am a job seeker. In asking for a ticket for this exhibition, I was told that "only the compensated unemployed were entitled to it"
But the fee schedule only talks about job seekers without making any mention of whether they are compensated or not. And besides, I do not see the relationship between going to see an exhibition and being compensated or not.
Moreover, it is a total nonsense, because it is the most fragile who are penalized, in this case those who, having still means of means that the unemployed compensated, would be refused access under this very strange motive.
I sent a request for explanation to the Hotel de la Monnaie (which is definitely his name ...) without a response from them for the moment.
A superb place a wonderful evening.
Bravo
A reference that allows you to buy with confidence.
Very interesting. Museum both sober and modern containing real treasures
Treasure hunt organized by the museum extraordinary and very well done.
The museum is really very well done, a lot of explanation.
Very nice museum
Hello to you,
I loved corporate culture and rich history.
I visited in a few hours it was not enough because there is so much to see. It is a French knowledge that is not put enough forward.
I highly recommend.
Cdlt.
Beautiful building, rich shop and interesting museum
Rare crafts and contemporary art
Between tradition and future
Very interesting museum. I advise you to get informed to know when they are doing coin making workshops. Spectacular the temporary of Grayson Perry.
