A great museum to explore the history of a local industry.
good for kids excursion or Sunday outings and visit nearby places. Super windy.
Exhibits are in Japanese. I was lucky enough to meet a guide who translated a few things into English. I took the short tour for 100 . I loved the table where you smelled the vinegar samples and attempted to guess which one it was - that was fun. The walk to this museum and the walk around the surrounding canal was wonderful.
It was a nice museum and small river near by. Just one problem that the staffs can t speak English at all but it s ok.
Great presentation, very interesting way of presenting the stories and history of mizkan
Great way to spend a few hours! The presentation has high tech effects similar to a Disney World exhibit, and you will learn a lot. Free samples were given at the end. Make reservations in advance.
Register first by phone or from the website before coming here. They only offer guided tour. The location itself was a treat! You got to see the Handa canal and various buildings around. The tour itself was about 90 minutes long. There are other interesting places nearby so budget around 4 hours. It is in the country side if you go by train, so budget time for the transportation as well.
