Definitely definitely not the same place that I used to go when I was in court. The bar is nothing like it was no food the place is disgrace and I would not even recommend going in to get a cocktail. it was two people at the bar and I had to wait while this young girl was talking to some other people at the other end obviously friends I should have just walked out! The place is trash! Better off going to Sanmmies for corned beef!

In town visiting and being an early riser, decided to find a coffee shop. Stopped in at a local shop across the street paid for parking because hey there lights are on inside so they should be open right? Unfortunately the local coffee shop was closed. Saw the owner to Mitchell's straightening up around the building and thought they were open. All I wanted was a cup of coffee and a place to relieve myself. Mitchell's was not open at the time but the owner not only allowed me in and made me a cup of coffee. Allowed me to use his restroom and even had a time to sit down and have a conversation with me. Definitely coming back for drinks tonight. If this is how he treats if this is how he treats the common man on the street, I can only imagine how well he treats his customers.

The owner, Jim, is a great guy and always makes you feel welcome. Great Staff too.

They have private place upstairs you can rent for only the people you invite with buffet dinner and open or cash bar.

Good food but still smells of cigarettes from when you could smoke in the old part of the restaurant.

Mitchell's used to be one of my favorite places downtown...since they stopped with the restaurant part of things, this place is terrible.

Haven't had the food (yet) but the beer selection is refreshing and varied, the drink specials catch my attention, and the staff is 10/10.

Shrimp and rice soup was outstanding and the reuben panini was very good as was the service.

Cool place to hangout and have a few beers. The only thing that would deter me from going back would be the bartender that we had... she was pretty rude all night and then around closing time she started to tell everyone that they need to get the f**k out, which is not a common thing where I m from, maybe it is in Pittsburgh. She was also very antsy, she seemed like she was on drugs. Other than that I had a great time there.

I recently had my wedding shower at Mitchell s Restaurant in their upstairs banquet room. I would 100% recommend others to use Mitchell s for their next event. We worked with Gina who was extremely nice and professional! They were flexible on the layout of the room, food selection, and bar selection. Also, the cost was very reasonable.

On the day of the event the food was delicious, the drinks were great, and Gina was there to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Planning a wedding can be challenging, but having our wedding shower at Mitchell s was a true joy!

Mitchell's has really good food, especially the burgers, and makes a great lunch location for downtown. They have daily specials that you can check online, and lots of comfortable seating and fast service.

Have the meatloaf. Have the meatloaf. Have the meatloaf. Mitchell's is a small yet comfortable place where many locals go for lunch. All of the home-cooked food is reasonably priced. Sit downstairs for a bit of the bar scene, or go upstairs for a quiet view of the surrounding area. Oh, and have the meatloaf. It's a treat that's hard to beat.

My top scene for tasty american food. super savory. next time i'll be back with my friends. kinda of like a cafe in phoenix that i enjoyed.

Beer selection was decent, price was good. Waitress wasn't overly pleasant and of course the whole smoking thing.

Very unique Irish themed restaurant and bar. Good location downtown. Also nice upstairs for parties.

The Mitch Burger was great and the staff is friendly

Good food was shocked that the management instructed my waitress that she was not allowed to put lemon s in refills of ice tea. Never came across that policy in any other resturant. I guess at $1.98 for 6 Oz of tea in a glass full of ice there is not enough of a profit margin. Suggest you get the water, apparently it comes with lemon.

Mitchell's is a great place to me. Never really "too" busy. More of a lunch/after work crowd, which means it's more of an extremely local crowd. But even if you're new, still a good experience since food is good and reasonably priced (and so are drinks, especially for a downtown venue). Close to courthouse (s), so it's a better alternative for jury duty, compared to chains like subway, etc. Owner is cool as hell, too. Give it a shot if you're anything less than a snob, and you'll be more than satisfied.

Love this place. My 2nd time coming here and the staff is always so friendly. Great vibe, nice atmosphere, good food & drinks. Happy Hour is on point - no shortage of quality eats. The bartenders make sure you feel at home. Definitely a new go-to spot.

This resturant has petty policies. I would go there for tuna melts. They had the glass ketchup bottles so instead of spending an hour trying to get ketchup I would ask for ketchup packets. One day I did this I was told to never come back. In an African American women so who knows what the real reasoning that I was no longer welcomed there

Was here for a wedding reception last year. The food , drinks, and atmosphere were great, and having the windows open between the outdoor seating and the bar area let us enjoy the beautiful weather, which is not something you always get to do at a wedding.

Definitely one of the more fun events I've attended. This was a much better venue than a hotel ballroom or plain old banquet hall.

Here is another place that wants to continually reduce portion sizes and quality all the while continuing to expect customers to wait and pay ever rising cost. In six months of going here I've seen my order go from being full after eating to having to go somewhere else now to get something else to eat. Not to mention that the food for take out is cold, guess they figure we can just microwave it once we get back to our office. Guess I just need to start packing a lunch.

Was surprised there was no food available. We had an amazing waitress by the name of Kim.

Very friendly staff and patrons. They are also open very late which was a plus since every other bar closed at 12.

Meatloaf was amazing!! Service was wonderful, our waitress was very nice and engaging.

Both bar and restaurant, but you have to order your food at the bar, and then they bring it to your table.

Didn't get service right away. Couldn't get bar tender to bring drinks to keep coming. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

It is a good establishment no riff raff. If they do get riff raff it doesn't stay.

Bartender was rude didn't pay me hardly any attention half answered my questions waited on all the men first just left me standing there looking stupid I won't be going back here I didn't get anything I was in there for 20 minutes & I left

Outstanding spot for american food. this place will surprise you. there was quick and friendly service. reminds me of a place in new york i loved to visit.

Was there on a trip....walked in for a drink or two. Before you know it we were sharing stories and laughs with the locals and very friendly bartender Joe. Highly recommend!!!! If you're in Pittsburgh...you must grab a drink here.
