I'm biased, because I have worked in this building in various capacities for 36 years, but I think it is the most beautiful state capitol in America. Loaded with wonderful artwork and history, there are places here that will drop your jaw. Free tours are available.
Beautiful piece of history from the buildings to the statues to the waterfalls and bridges. A great area for a family outing or just walking the dog

I wish we had more time to see everything! The Capitol is beautiful and the art that surrounds both inside and on the grounds is just as grand.

Magnificent, beautiful, the most awesome Capitol I have ever seen. Set against the backdrop of the Missouri River. The whole rotunda around it lined with memorials. Inside magnificent museum. History at it's finest, including a scale model of the Mighty Mo USS Missouri!!!! Must see. What are you waiting for? Get there! Newly refinished... Outside immaculate. #Showmehonor!
I accompanied a friend to Jefferson City Moter Vehicle Registration to get a car he recently purchaced taken care of. From salvage to rebuilt. A young lady named Amber waited on him. I was sitting my 6 ft distance away from them both, but was able to hear what was being said.
Amber was so polite and helpful with answering his questions, I thought gee, this has been a plesent trip and only took ten minutes and Amber was a plesent person to work with.

We visited the capital building on April 19 on a snowy spring day. Happy to find the tour program was stll open! The reception lady was very accommodating and let us attend an earlier tour instead of our original book one, since we arrived earlier. Our tour guide Henry was very professional, explaining in details at every stop place within time allowed. The tour lasted about 50 minutes. The only disappointment was not being able to see Thomas Hartp Benton's paintings in the House Lounge, because the room was closed by the House Speaker to the public. The tour program is highly recommended!
