This place is really nice for last minute items, and I love having a place to get coffee so close to the buildings I have classes in. Although having a Barnes and Noble is nice, some of the problems I have are:
1. You can not use Starbucks gift cards here or use your flex dollars.
2. Their school supplies although might be nice last minute, are over priced.
3. Their MSU apparel is also VERY overpriced.
4. They do not stay open late enough.

This place was beautiful. There was such a huge selection of Mississippi State merchandise. There was something for everyone in the family. The freshman books were a bit pricey and no rentals available. But other than that it s a great place.

Its rather disappointing when you call during normal business hours and there is NO ONE to answer the phone. What business doesn't answer their phone. On top of being too lazy to answer the phone, you can't even leave a message. Ridiculous !!!

No one picks up the phone and If they do they redirect it to managers voice mail which is full. Made an online order to pick up at store, waited for a week and no response whatsoever. Idk if I'll ever get anything from this place.

Just an absolute mess. Ordered clothing online. After waiting 2 weeks with no status, spent a couple days just trying to connect with someone / anyone. Finally, got through to a manager who was not really interested and condescending. He finally told me that 2 of the items were backordered. Not a good way to treat customers. Lost business.

Really needs to get their stuff in order. Ran out of lab manuals and labs just started this Monday. Only have XXL lab coats in stock and labs just started Monday. People have requirements for classes. Very unprofessional to not order enough or make sure there is enough prior to school starting.

Rips off students. I went for basic college ruled filler paper. $7 for a 170 count. I purchased a 150 count at Walmart for $.82! This is a ridiculous markup. Binders are 2-3x the price of retail. Prices aren't labeled on shelf or product, hoping you'll buy it unsuspecting of the cost. In my opinion, they are taking advantage of young people using their parents or the governments money.

Poor selection of books. I am a book worm and was in the mood to get lost in the excitement of a book store. unfortunately due to covid-19, I believe, there was only a slim selection. I use to love this place. Now it has changed. It had a lot of college resource books and thing that only applied to student. Which being a book store on a university campus is practical. just to be clear, the chain of stores is amazing, online shopping would be ideal for readers. Physical store at this specific location is only suitable for the college student during this time of change.

I was told that my membership card would not give discounts in their store. In addition, the cashier told me that my coupon wasn't good for the MSU collectables. I read the back of the coupon and it stated it was good for any item but nook. Shame on you B&N. I had considered myself a loyal customer. I even paid for your apparently worthless discount card. Your concern only to make the fast buck has changed my mind. I will be purchasing from Amazon any of my books from now on.

I always love shopping here. The Starbucks is a nice touch and the snacks are always good. When the weather is nice I like to sit on the patio and drink my coffee. Worth a visit if you are on campus.

Just another Barnes and and Noble, the only one in Mississippi State University. Pretty big one, with a lot of collections for your MSU swag. However, most of them are overpriced! The only time I bought something was the graduation robe. There is a cafe inside for a quick breakfast/ lunch. There are ample
Spaces to sit ( inside / outside patio). Very nice and quite environment to study. I have seen many of my friends to buy coffee and study for hours. The parking at the backside ( towards the stadium side) of BN, is for 45 minutes only. So check before you park and spend time for hours! ( My friend got ticket there for parking more than the time limit.)

This isn't a bookstore, this is a Mississippi State University souvenir shop with a Starbucks. Also, there's a couple of paperbacks upstairs.

The place had a rather small book selection in the past, and I made my peace with that. Imagine my surprise going into the location recently seeing no books at all on the ground floor.

I greatly enjoy bookstores, and Barnes and Noble bookstores in particular. This one, though, is a bit of a shame. They should just change the sign to say something like "State Apparel and more" and be done with it.

They could at least make up for what they lack in inventory with effervescent service. In my experience, almost no one smiles, says hello, welcomes you to Barnes and Noble, or offers assistance while you're shopping. I don't expect or desire to be waited on, but it wouldn't hurt anyone to smile and greet people when they walk in or inquire as to whether a customer needs help finding anything in particularas they peruse the store. These are basic niceties that make me feel welcome at an establishment. I'll avoid this store as much as possible, but they're unfortunately the only place I know in Starkville that sells comic books.
