They could at least make up for what they lack in inventory with effervescent service. In my experience, almost no one smiles, says hello, welcomes you to Barnes and Noble, or offers assistance while you're shopping. I don't expect or desire to be waited on, but it wouldn't hurt anyone to smile and greet people when they walk in or inquire as to whether a customer needs help finding anything in particularas they peruse the store. These are basic niceties that make me feel welcome at an establishment. I'll avoid this store as much as possible, but they're unfortunately the only place I know in Starkville that sells comic books.
