Two major things wrong with this school.

Two major things wrong with this school.

1.) The Director of Admissions is one of the most unprofessional, unpleasant people I ve ever dealt with. She should be ashamed of the terrible person she is. Really just a disgrace. But then again she ll probally just ignore your email like she does to everyone.

2.) This school WORSHIPS atheletes and treats every other student like 2nd class citizens. I wouldn t recommend this school to someone even if they found enough money to give you a full ride. Mind in you, the school is 2 million in the hole. Really not worth your time or money.

Misericordia University has been my home away from home. I never second guess my choice of coming to school here. The occupational therapy program is one like no other. I take pride in my hard work and the teachers in my program and other faculty on staff are friendly, generous, and want to see every student succeed! Misericordia takes pride in its service and hospitality and these qualities can be found in each student here. I love this place and I cannot believe I will one day have to say goodbye to the memories and family I have created here.

As a student from out of state (born and raised in Arizona), attending Misericordia University has been a very unique experience for me. The location has been comfortable, coming from a small town, so the location has not been overwhelmingly populated while still being close enough to other cities and shopping locations. MU also assisted in my decision to switch majors, and have been a Mass Communications student with a Philosophy minor since my sophomore year. Students with interests in the arts and and humanities, like myself, often feel as if they are not taken as seriously as other majors, such as health sciences. However, I feel that MU s liberal arts approach embraces all student interests, including encouraging creativity while also helping students get to know the real world and how to approach the world from a realistic and economic perspective.

Getting involved at MU has also been fairly easy and a welcome experience for me. The Mass Communications department is tight-knit but is welcoming of all students, and has job, classes, or club opportunities for students in and outside of the major. The arts are also embraced by the campus radio station (Cougar Radio), the Highlander newspaper, etc. I ve participated in multiple groups and events on campus, and have found student employment on campus, along with researching, preparing for, and currently executing internships during my college career.

I m a firm believer that college is what you make it, and MU has helped me embrace all these passions that I ve always had and has helped me move forward with the things that matter most to me.

Misericordia University has provided me with incomparable, personal attention throughout my undergraduate career. The faculty and staff have gone out of their way to help me prepare for the workforce after graduation. I am so thankful to Misericordia, I highly recommend!!

Excellent school for nursing, PA, and physical / occupational therapy degrees! If you want a job in healthcare, go to Misericordia - their graduates average 97% pass rates on the NCLEX, much higher than the state average. Beautiful campus as well!

My daughter attended Misericordia from 2011-2015. This is a wonderful Campus, the teacher to student ratio is excellent and the scholarship programs are excellent. An item to note: single mothers may attend the nursing program and are formed with other mothers and their children with on site daycare, kudos to you Misericordia for being so progressive!!!

This school does NOT have its act together! I went for 3 years at King's College (PA) and decided to come to Misericordia because, ON PAPER, their Information Technology w/ a specialization in Security looks better than King's Computer Information Systems major. I was DEAD WRONG! I should've turned around and stayed at King's as soon as it took more than 2 weeks to complete my transfer to Misericordia. I came to transfer on July 25th but the process took until the start of the semester. I had to drive back and forth to the campus to find out what I needed to completely transfer over with only ONE transfer counselor working there who doesn't know what she's doing. The majority of the administrative staff are very rude and do not care about helping you with anything! One of the most helpful staff members I met, who actually cared, was the director of admissions.

Because of the stringent core requirements, I would've had to stay an additional semester because not all of my CORE (all completed) from King's transferred over, even after I pushed the issue! Such BS! After I thought I was successfully transferred, I was hassled further with additional requirements that NO one told me about and would've had consequences if I didn't complete them. Happily, I'm transferring back to King's the following semester!

Now onto the major and courses. The IT and ITS major has an ACCOUNTANT as the head and the Computer Science major has a PHYSICIST as the head - NOT A AN EXPERT IN THE TECH. FIELD! **FYI - You do NOT need to take Calculus I & 2 and Physics 1& 2 (these are required in the Computer Science major) to be great in the technology field. Unless you want to study graphics and/or artificial intelligence, I recommend taking the Information Technology major, if you are still considering that after reading this review, because the two majors share the majority of the same courses.**

The professor who is teaching the majority of the heavy duty computer courses is new, foreign w/ a strong accent, and teaches them like they are traditional lecture courses. BORING! NOT enough hands on work, nothing creative, and NOT enough assignments. You can't teach intro. to programming as if it's a biology or a humanities course. My intro. to security course is too basic for the money you pay. I don't know how you can make a semester out of this course.

My intro. to information systems is probably the best out of the two I already mentioned but the instructor is also the network technician of the school. Many times she had to cancel class to fix networking issues at the school.

The best teacher I had was in the CORE. Now that's saying something.

If you compare the cost between Misericordia and King's, it will show you that Misericordia is charging you more for an education that is NOT worth as much!

**DO NOT GO TO MISERICORDIA UNLESS YOU ARE GOING INTO THE HEALTH SCIENCES!**

Two additional things - There is hardly any parking and, this year (2017), there is construction that's been going on since the end of July. It's blocking access to parking that's already limited. The science lot, where the construction is still going on, for the science building extension, is shared between students and faculty which makes the entire situation worse. In addition, Misericordia hosts many events that give priority to guests (non-student). If parking in the science lot, the fastest way to get to it is through the arch. Townhouse Rd. (Second right turn-in after the arch) is only a one way out. They removed the two-way to make room for more parallel parking.

The library on the third floor has a conference room at the back and study areas scattered throughout. People who attend these conferences have NO respect for students studying up there

Misericordia tries to promote its image of being a great school that helps students succeed in the workforce but, in reality, it's a facade and a farce. It's NOT really a university but a greedy business that would love to suck as much money from you as possible as you waste your time in their non-lucrative majors.

Misericordia University is a very welcoming place. As a freshman this year I have been able to get involved with many activities on and off campus. I was a little nervous at first about meeting new people, but I was matched with an awesome roommate and have made so many friends by getting involved.

Misericordia University is not only strikingly beautiful but offers an exceptional education for every student. The faculty and staff at Misericordia are very encouraging and motivate every student to meet their dreams academically and socially. I have attended Misericordia for 4 years and am working toward my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapy program is a 6.5 year guaranteed program, the first 3.5 years earning a bachelor s degree and the next 3 years at the graduate level for physical therapy. This program has been accredited for a number of years and has a very high passing rate on the board exam.

Throughout my 4 years at Misericordia, I have nothing but positive remarks. Misericordia has taught me how to be both successful and independent. I lived on campus for all 4 years at Misericordia, 2 years working as a Resident Assistant and two years with fellow students. Although it was fun to live with some of my friends, living by myself as an RA was definitely a huge perk. From being an RA, I was able to witness students who got involved in the Misericordia community and students who chose to mind to themselves. With that experience I can only give advice that getting involved and putting yourself out there is vital, not only at Misericordia but throughout life. You can t just let life walk by you, you need to put on your shoes and run towards your dreams (and if something is for free, you really have nothing to lose). Misericordia offers a huge variety of ways to get involved from campus ministry, athletics, theater, and various clubs, there is most definitely something that peaks everyone s interest.

I have met so many amazing people and have made friendships that will last a lifetime from Misericordia. Through getting involved as an RA, and being involved in clubs such as business professional association, health care management association, and H.O.P.E (Healthy Options Peer Educators), I have been able to learn new information, make friends, and have fun. There is a wonderful program at Misericordia called the Guaranteed Placement Program (GPP) where every year of their education students learn viable and helpful tips such as how to properly handle a job interview or how to build your resume. At the end of the student s time at Misericordia, the GPP program guarantees that you will graduate with a payed internship or job 6 months after graduation. Therefore, there is no fear that you will earn a degree and not have a job after loaning so much money.

I am proud to be a student at Misericordia University. I am proud to call Misericordia my home.
