Mirror Lake Inn Review

My husband and I planned an early anniversary weekend get away to hike the peaks in the adirondacks and stayed two nights at Mirror Lake Inn. We were very impressed by the fine details! When we first arrived we found our room upgraded to a better view on the fourth floor and champagne and chocolates to greet us in the room! Our dinner reservations were accommodated with a personalized greeting congratulating us on our anniversary. Our waiter Caleb was wonderful! The hot tub was nice and clean. We loved our view of the lake and enjoyed the ambience of the entire place.

I would say our stay was good. The rooms aren t really sound proof (probably because it s an older historic facility). We heard the people next door walking up and down their stairs. I m assuming they could hear us as well. We also heard a lot of people walking by our door. The floor we were on was very busy and we constantly came across people in the hall way. At one point on one of the days there was construction on the floor. I almost got ran over, not once, but twice by two of the construction workers. I m not one to complain so I didn t say anything.
I m not sure it was worth the price for us but the tub was very nice and big and it was convenient to be able to walk right to the stores. We had a couples massage and that was amazing.

Even during the pandemic, it is wonderful to stop by here and experience the delicious food by Lake Placid. We ordered the Warm Brussel Sprout salad, the Apricot Chicken Salad Sandwich and a hot chocolate with whipped cream. They were all very well prepared. The hot chocolate was in the sweet side for me, but it was perfect for everyone else in my company. The service was great, and definitely a place to go if you are in this area.

We stayed here in September and had an excellent time. Location wise in Lake Placid it doesn't get much better than the Mirror Lake Inn, your about a 2 minute walk into town that has tons of shops and restaurants. We considered the Whiteface Lodge as well which is about 2 miles from town and very nice too, but the location of the Mirror Lake Inn was to hard to pass up. Also the food was outstanding at both restaurants on the property especially at the View. I'd highly recommend it here for your trip to Lake Placid.

If you want some place to just got and relax, this is certainly the place to go. You don't feel bad when you spend a couple of hours just sitting in a comfortable chair in your room looking out over there lake.

The pool and hot tub area is another great place to relax. They really know how to keep it clean there is not an overwhelming smell of chlorine like you get at many hotel pools.

The decorations in the hallways were great.

Obviously making restaurant reservations here is a bit challenging at this time (late October of 2020) with hotel guests only. Early in the week they were booked for Saturday night and we got the same response when we checked on Saturday morning. However just before noon on Saturday we got a call with an opening. We were a bit surprised that it wasn't just one time slot, but rather four or five.

We were going to take one slot and call back if we couldn't make it (we were waiting to hear back from another restaurant). However we were told that if we made the reservation and cancelled, our room would get something like a $50 cancellation fee.

Overall, we had a fantastic time at a really great place.

A beautiful lodge feel with large windows offering views of the Adirondack mountains and mirror lake. The food is definitely 5 star. Amazed by a salad that had flavors I've never experienced together, grapes, feta cheese, honeycomb and more. The filet mignon was very tender and tasty. I had the apple cobbler for desert with ginger ice-cream. Surprised by the subtle ginger flavor in the ice cream and its compliment to the apples and other berries. Delicious!

Besides the glorious accommodations and truly delicious food in The View Restaurant, the staff went above and beyond to make our short stay memorable. The not only exceeded my expectations, they redefined them! I could not give them a stronger referral!
Lake Placid is a true diamond, and the Mirror Lake Inn is the sparkle in the diamond!

The food was amazing, had the steak was perfect. The staff took the time to personalize the menu with a birthday message for me. The dessert was equally delicious

Elegant and historic Inn with large windows, fireplaces with real crackling fires, rooms and areas with unique items..such as a harp, throne, an old library. A quiet peaceful place.

Amazing service, care, and cleanliness. While on the pricey side, the money is well spent here. The hotel spoils you with beautiful views, amazing sounds, and all the comforts needed for a weekend getaway.
