Great to have a small town hardware store back in Goleta. The interior was clean and spaceous, the shelves were well stocked, and there was an abundance of staff all ready willing and eager to help me find whatever I was looking for.
Miner's ACE Hardware is an exciting new store that the area has been needing for awhile. It's in OSH's old location, but with lot's of interesting new products. They now have a fully stocked lumber dept. with all the services. They also carry camping and R.V. goods, which orchard never did. The nursery is amazing, with a great selection of native plants and shade varieties. They also carry butterfly bushes and drought tolerant plants that are sometimes hard to find. Being local and family owned, it's a refreshing change from the usual "Big Box" Stores. OSH was great, but these guys have taken it to the next level! They saved me over a hundred and fifty dollars on my car key copy!
Prices are higher than the SB location (over $1 more on products that are $10 or less). Surprised of the big difference. Wish Home Improvement (SB location) has more capacity during the covid mandates. Miners is bigger and better parking.
Many employees not wearing masks and not observing 6 rule with customers. I had to step away from several. Please improve your safety protocol. Otherwise great store.
Great to have an alternative to Home Depot. Decent selection and reasonable prices
Not sure why OSH closed down but this place isnt much different. Employees are very willing to help and for the most part they know their stuff but the prices on most items is ridiculous. I only stop when its super convenient or if im in a hurry and this place is closer than others
Had a great experience purchasing paint today! Associate was helpful, quick, and friendly.
We popped in to the new store on Friday to check it out. So great to have a locally owned hardware store in Goleta. They had plenty of friendly help. We will definitely be supporting this store, and hope our neighbors will too.
Of course we didn't walk out empty handed in case you are wondering.
This store is very expensive. The selection is very limited. The products they do carry are very low quality. The service is not good either. I went to return a broken wrench. The guy was mean and had attitude issues. I wouldn t recommend shopping here.
They are working hard to ensure you have a great experience.
Nice and helpful staff...lots of variety, reminds me of an old fashioned general store. A bit pricey but convenient.
Love the quality and service here compared to bigger and smaller hardware stores in our area.
This store is very expensive, often selling items for twice as much as other stores. Their selection is also quite limited. However, their service is the worst. The employees are friendly when you buy things but returns are completely different. I went to return a defective power tool. I was denied a return because I didn't have the battery which was not included in the first place. Additionally, I've also seen many used items sold as new at Ace. Furthermore, Ace employees often act very knowledgeable as they give incorrect advice on what to purchase. While the employees seem friendly and enthusiastic, I would strongly recommend shopping elsewhere.
Clean, friendly staff. Usually out of marketed specials though.
Didn't have to walk around searching for someone to help me because there are employees around every corner who are eager to help!
Its a beautiful store. I just couldn't wait in a line of 40 people to check out,
Good to have a replacement for the old ACE hardware store.
Great staff goes out of its way to help customers. I always find what I need here and get great advice from employees. Glad they are keeping an eye on store capacity, keeping customers safe.
Edited post. My original post from April was a complaint about workers not wearing masks. They all do now.
Nice store, nice employees, nice selection. Perfect hardware store!!
I love this place. So clean..staff is so friendly ..the garden center is like a little magical oasis..I will drive the extra few miles to choose this store
This store used to be Osh Hardware, it's now an Ace store called Miners.
This is a mini Home Depot when you don't want to wait in line and navigate a big footprint of store space.
We went for smaller items like stool foot knobs, furniture sliders, bird seed, mounting tape, small flowers in pots.
They have a decent selection of these items. Lots of paint and accessories and a good hardware section.
The garden area is kind of cool with some nice outdoor patio area ideas. The plants, flower, etc. section is decent if you're not going full on.
The customer service was good and the store clean. This is a good alternative to Home Depot if you don't need a large selection of items.
Miners has great service by knowledgeable and friendly staff.
I went there looking for a buffer Automotive. They have a lot of Milwaukee And Makita.. but no Automotive buffers rare didn't make any sense to me
A good store for a variety of hardware needs but prices seem a little high. Help is generally pretty good.
Very nice knows where things are. I do hate the check out stands and not line and some people can't see over other people that the checker is waving there hand for the next person. When you want to return some thing you have to wait in line with the out people.
So far, it's OSH without the awesome fastener section and no glass cutting. Got the last 5bgakkon gas can so maybe some inventory problems as well
Not impressed at all, have yet to stock what I need, which were basic things. Staff was unhelpful and didn't even know what they stocked.
I Like this store, lots of friendly help. Glad to have a hardware store back.
Friendly staff, well stocked shelves and reasonable prices.
Great supplies but so few workers makes it challenging to find what you need. Why are there 5 people staffing the whole store?! When I voice this concern to the workers they're in agreement- clearly not a new issue and not a resolved one either.
Service was great ! Prices are a bit high in comparison to other hardware stores in the area . But they have a great selection of items.
I think 5 employees asked me if I needed help during my visit as I toured the aisles checking it out... very helpful & friendly service.
I ordered some things for pickup which I couldn't get elsewhere locally this week. They came in when they were supposed to. Thanks!
A nice neighborhood hardware store. A well stocked alternative to big box stores.
Thank goodness Goleta finally gets a hardware store back! This Ace hardware store is going to be fantastic for Goleta! It has a very similar layout to the past orchard hardware store but prices are competitive. Very friendly associates and a wide selection from paint to hardware to nursery! Check it out!
Great store lots of inventory I usually find what I need there.
I like this place. Staff is very nice. Great parking. Their pricing is higher then it needs to be, but other then that, it is worth going.
The manager of the nursery is the friendliest most knowledgeable expert in Santa Barbara! Hard to find this here!
So I called in. I've had months of trouble with my reverse osmosis filter in my kitchen. Would take 20 minutes for me to fill up the coffee pot. I gave Tim the numbers I had for the filters. He said he was sorry but he didnt have those parts. What he did tell was awesomHe told me bou a little valve all I needed was a bike pump. Boom 30 minutese making g coffee turned into 30 seconconds. I. Just spent 30 minutes trying to. Spell correc . Tim in plumbing was awesome. Trying to give a good review on a smart phone was not. All all praise to tim in goleta miners goleteta. Can't see what I type but tim is awesome
Difficult to get assistance and they didn't have what I needed.
It's great to have Miners nearby. There's always help available in every department. The garden section has interesting plants, sculptures and pottery.
Everything here is very expensive, sometimes twice the price of Home Depot. Often items are out of stock. I don't recommend shopping here.
Helpful staff, they were all eager to help finding a product I needed and they didn't find it because they were just a week old and still unpacking but at least 6 team members were involved in the looking for my inquiry. They apologized and since I was satisfied with their customer service and didnt want to leave yet I headed towards their nursery I went back there and found a variety of beautiful plants and I had no personal choice but to buy this beautiful variegated maple tree in a 3 gallon for like $20+ and went home super stoked with the intent of go I g back to buy more plants asap. Give them a chance y'all! Good night!
I am surprised by the huge selection of hardware that this place has. If you need it, they probably have it.
Popped in and out. Got what I needed, great price great service.
Staff is nice but the Gardening department is completely disorganized. It took them over 3 months to tell me the base for a pot I purchased was no longer in stock. Every time I called I spoke to a different person and had to explain my situation over again. Please get your act together.
Had a wonderful experience with Sales Associate 'TRENT' at your Goleta, California store. He helped me decide on the right type of Caulk material for my home project. TRENT was conscientious, informative, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. TRENT is definitely an asset to your company.
I still miss O.S.H but same selection, friendly service
The most well taking care of garden section! Beautiful plants!
This used to be the Osh hardware store in Goleta. Now Ace Hardware has taken it over. Very well stocked and organized store with helpful, friendly employees. Large parking lot, for adequate parking. Located in same shopping center with Michael's and Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Recommend this hardware and garden store for any DIY project or gardening requirements.
Steve was answering questions for the entire store! Even staff were going to him for help. The guy was getting hit from all angles. Still handled with poise, true professionalism. Patience. This guy was doing everything! Didnt get the exact items I needed, I mean the guy was slammed. But we got close and I appreciate allthe effort he put into the search. I will come back to this location in the future because they go above and beyond! I would just recommend having Steve, sitdown, w ample time, so he can teach the other employees. Then everyone would be crazy efficient and knowledgeable. Steve wouldnt have to run around so much! Thanks Ace!
I really prefer coming here over the big orange store in Goleta. Staff is always really friendly, easy to find, and helpful.
Better than Home Depot because the employees actually know more than you.
Top notch, friendly, helpful & knowkedgable service. So much better than the big box chain stores. So happy to have Miner's in town!
Real easy to find random items with no assistance. Plus for me imo.
What I need for work or home is here. Staff walking around floor can assist.
The quality of a business is mostly based on its service. For a retail store, it is how they handle inevitable returns. The employees at this store always appear friendly and helpful when trying to sell. How about returns?
Recently I bought a power tool and discovered that it was defective. I brought it back for a refund. There was damage to the packaging. The clerk called a manager. I showed him the defects. Upon seeing the torn cardboard box, the manager became grumpy and said "I can't sell this any more."
Suddenly I saw the reason why there were so many defective merchandise on their shelves. I almost wanted to ask the owner: "Do you always try to sell defective products returned by customers?"
Stay away from this store, no matter how friendly the salespeople appear.
I really like this hardware store. The staff is very helpful and very friendly, they have a great selection, and although I have only been there twice thus far, I will definitely keep shopping there.
Thank you Miner's! After waiting what seems like forever, the former Orchard Hardware is now open as Miner's Ace Hardware. I almost ran into the store when I found out they were opening. Finally! No more ridiculously incompetent clerks from Home Depot. No more, "This isn't my department," and no more searching for anyone who might slightly and vaguely know where something is. Not only did Miner's open with a beautiful and familiar layout, but they hired the former manager who is simply amazing! Additionally, at least 5 employees approach us with a smile and offer to help us. Thank you from a very grateful shopper!
