Would not recommend to my worst enemy. The shower had a used bar of soap in the soap dish. The bathroom sink had hair all over in it. Filthy dirty place. When we went to the front desk the clerk was missing. The only person we found took notes but apparently did nothing as when we returned to our room, the soap and hair were still there.

Besides the filth they haven't spend a dime updating the rooms. Don't waste your money!!

Facilities aside, the service is pretty terrible. Got in last night and have been calling for 24 hours asking for help with my heat. Even stopped by the front desk. It took them this long to inform me that they shut off the heat for the year (it was 45 degrees last night). When I asked what I should do, they said I should use more blankets. I've got work to do; what good are blankets when I've got to sit at a desk and be at my computer?

Lets start with the boarded windows in front of the hotel as I pulled up. Then the man checking me in was not informative and extremely rude. I almost just walked out but didn't want to incur a cancellation fee. My room is 1950s 1960s 1970s decorated that's falling apart. The paint is so horribly scratched on the baseboards and doors. The metal accordion closet door is rusted. This is hideous for what I paid, HIDEOUS. The hallways stink of must and the wallpaper is peeling off around the baseboards. The place is just musty, old and needs a redo. Do NOT stay here unless you are absolutely desperate and wont be spending much time in the room.

Very old. Rooms and bathrooms haven't been updated in a long time. Half of the outlets didn't work. The linens were a yellowish color and smelled like they hadn't been washed in forever. Don't stay here.

The Athletic Club is nice but very sexist they have a whole floor for boys and a whole floor for girls the pools are separate and it's very racist if your African-American because all the older white people just stare at you also the wall paper is pealing and if you have any questions about the pool its not really a pool it's just swimming lanes for swimmers.

The Athletic Club offers an evening of unforgettable memories and an event to remember for your New Years Eve celebration. 11/10 would absolutely recommend a trip to start off your New Years with the best music, dancing and company around!

Staff were the best.part.of this experience. They could not overcome the dangerously poor mechicanial conditions of the rooms or the outdated TVs that can not support digital cable. Stains on the chairs walls & carpets can be over looked but sparking ground electrical outlets in the bathrooms can not.

The shower pressure was terrific. The tub was filled in minutes, due to a very clogged drain. The shower had to be ended due to a fear of over flowing the tub. I had to call the front desk staff for assistance to turn the water off, & was told that the faucet was tricky, but that he knew how to handle it. Meaning that they were aware. BUT that this was never fixed but okay to give to me.

So, the front desk staff had to come up to turn the shower off after my shower. He showed me his specific trick. Meaning, for $150 / night he'd be turning off the water?

With the water concerns and the faulty ground outlet in the bathroom it was clearly a dangerous combination. I thought it best to move the blow-dry process to the bedroom for safety.

There, is where I noticed the stains on the chair that looked like blood.

As a Wisconsin Athletic Club Member, I have limited access to certain amenities. The main feature I take advantage of as a WAC member is the men's pool which is heated and 25 yards in length. I'm also provided with a locker to keep my belongings in. The atmosphere at the MAC is very welcoming with warm, friendly faces to greet you and lively members to cut up with in the locker room. I'm considering joining the MAC so I can access more amenities at the club and to attend social functions they frequently host.

Literally everything about this place is terrible. Their pillows are too small for the pillow cases, the closet has wood paneling, the soap smelled so bad I gagged, the temperature won't go below 68, the shower would run from hot to cold, AND the pictures on the wall are of kids straight out of a horror film. Yuck!

Many fake positive ratings for this...place. The real ones are the one star ratings. Wayyy overpriced for the quality of rooms. A lot of claims about being environmentally conscious when the reality is obvious, they are just being cheap.

I have been staying at the hotel for many years and keep coming back!. The hotel is in a great location proximal to many amazing restaurants. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The newly remodeled parking facilities make getting in and out more efficient. The fitness center and it's amenities are extensive and very guest friendly.

Cool building in a great location in Milwaukee. The website and the lobby are a bit deceiving, however. I was booked for 3 nights, and left after only 1 night because the floor I was on (11th floor) smelled so strongly of mold and the room wasn't any better. The wallpaper was peeling off of the wall and the carpeting looks like it was original to the building. I can deal with older furnishings and decor, but the moldy smell was overbearing. I woke up in the middle of the night and started gagging because I'm used to taking a deep breath of clean air and not mold. Read some other reviews and saw that they plan on remodeling in the next year. Hopefully that happens because it would be a shame for such a beautiful building to go to waste.

This place is pretty old, but still really cool! The room was massive! Bigger than my apartment in Queens, NY. While, everything looked old and needing to be updated, it was still very clean. Great location! It's .5 miles to my favorite watering hole, so I can walk there and then Uber back to the hotel. Unfortunately, I was too hungover to checkout the exercise room or pool. Maybe next time I'll hit the sauna and release some of the toxins!

The price point for a room is WAY too high for what you get. The room was shabby - stained carpet, hard couch, a few small holes in two walls. The bathroom reminded me of one you might find in a public school. Disappointing stay. The facilities for other purposes (i.e. ballroom for wedding) was pretty nice, though.

The thermostat says you can adjust your room temp, but apparently that is only during certain times of the year. Guy at the desk told me to open a window.. There were a bunch of spiders and a whole in the screen. Then.. The ceiling tiles started moving up and down about 6in. I got a new room. The shits were dirty and one of the TINY pillows was torn. This place was about $130 after taxes, and I have literally stayed in motel 6 where it was much nicer.

Best I can say is that it was walking distance to many things downtown, but after finding spiders I felt uncomfortable all night. The open window meant city street noises. I slept until about 3am, and woke up every 30 minutes to an hour until 6, when I gave up.

I marked it up to a three just because the people were so nice and helpful the next morning. It's a 50/50 chance

Don't try applying here if you're Hispanic with no experience in cleaning only customer service and Data Entry yet resume gets submitted for a janitorial position only for the sole fact that my last name is JUAREZ. Disrespectful to me as a person with my experience and very racist. Makes me wonder if they treat Hispanic cliental any different.

Stayed at the MAC for a wedding & reception that was in/at the MAC. Great facility, the rooms were huge (had 2 that joined), staff was very friendly, easy to check in & out, valet parking. Took advantage of the fitness center, met members who were very friendly, have older weight equipment on the upper level but plenty to get a great workout. Swam in their lap pool, again great. Wedding, reception & next day brunch food & drinks were top notch, would highly recommend for similar event or just a nights stay! Jeff Bell

The rooftop bar plays host to the Milwaukee skyline. A large, terraced seating area allows for unobstructed, elevated views of Lake Michigan, the river, and the city. Brad in Special Events hosts memorable events in this area--highly recommended!

When we checked in, the manager gave us the wrong room. We had to wait for an hour until he got back because nobody else knew how to do anything. We were also told everything in the hotel was closed because of the holiday. No food or drinks.
Rooms were dated and especially the bathroom. The AC was cold. Shuttles to Summrrfest would not take us to tbe venue. Hallways smelled musty.

Great experience. The front desk was very polite. The facilities are on point. My wife did not check out the women's facility but for the gentlemen- the cardio room was spacious, the weight room was great, and the full court basketball space was awesome. Rooms were dated but definitely step up from your boring chains like holiday inn.

The value of this hotel translates to $35 a night.

-Bathrooms are ancient and showering is a chore using the decrepit plumbing systems.
-Rooms themselves are very old and obviously haven't been renovated in a few decades. Complete with random stains & smells.
-Front desk employees don't actually do their jobs and lack competence. Will overcharge you, ignore your requests and potentially just screw up your rate/charges altogether as they did with me.
-Bar/Food Services aren't open at a convenient time for anyone

I will never stay here again.

Clean. Lovely lobby. Close to the River Walk and Historic Third Ward, which both just a short walk. Room was older, but had fridge and microwave and was very clean. Bed was super comfy. Would stay here again.

Old, traditional. Loved the amenities of a gym in a hotel. The basketball court was a serious plus. Let's one fully enjoy a stay when having idle time leading to an event. The in-house barbershop, SO incredible. Parking at a more than reasonable rate WITH in and out privileges. Room service is fair in price and tasty. My official "go to" when in Milwaukee.

I would not recommend this place. They seem to only cater to rich businessmen. My boyfriend and I were visiting Milwaukee for a concert and the man at the front desk was extremely rude and judgmental-looking us over like we didn't belong there and admitted he purposefully charged my card to have on file for less than he would have for "ordinary" guests. It made me very uncomfortable. The room was OK. Except for the fact that it was freezing cold and had a pretty crappy shower. There is also a "dress code" for the hotel. And don't expect to swim with your significant other or family members-the pool and facilities are separated by gender. Sorry, I didn't know we were still the 1950's.

Da Roof! My review is not of the MAC itself, but rather their summer, Tuesday night concert series. From 6 to 10pm, Kris Crow and his amazing band performs on the roof of the MAC. It's an open-air show and on nice nights, it truly is a little slice of paradise! Also, the nicest thing, honestly, is the fact that the show is from 6 to 10pm! I would go out more often to see bands if they didn't start so darn late. This is, hands down, one of my favorite things to do during a Milwaukee summer!

One of the best wedding celebrations I've experienced took place within the ballroom and the spacious rooftop bar at the MAC. Excellent city scape with birds-eye views of downtown Milwaukee. A sensational venue for making lifelong memories indeed.

I travel for a living and this was the oldest moldy stinky room ever. I walked out after 3 minutes in my room and went scross the street to the Marriott. Never again will I go there. It's a dump. The help sucks.

Continue to be amazed at how fun this place can be. Rooftop bar is the best venue in the City. Staff bends over backwards to make your stay memorable and fun. And you meet the nicest people in the gym, the weight room, the steam room and pool. Great place to work out, network, or just have fun.

Very very very dated we imagine a roadside motel at $40 a month would be more updated, comfortable, and cleaner. For just a little more it's worth staying at the Hilton around the corner. Ridiculous waste of money to stay here when for 10-30 more you can actually get your money's worth elsewhere and have more comfort.

Though a private athletic and social club, we were lucky enough to visit here recently for a beautiful wedding. Cocktails were in a gorgeous 3rd floor gathering room and dinner in an amazingly elegant 4th floor dining room, complete with massive dance floor for our after dinner partying. All in all, an awesome place!

The main issue was the lack of power in useful places; the outlets were floor level or behind furniture; they need power at desk and night stands! The cleaning staff didn't empty the ice bucket and leave a fresh bag insert, and there is one little bar of soap and a squeeze packet of conditioning shampoo. There was no ice on my floor or the floor above, so went to the next higher level for ice. The pool closed at 6:00 pm which defeated the purpose of having a pool for people using the MAC as a hotel (they suggested swimming early in the morning, but that is rough when you have daytime work plans). I used it for the location convenience; however, it really seems to be there for guest and members of MAC who understand all the nuances. The dining room wasn't available for dinner until a MAC event was done, so we went elsewhere.
