In the late 80's, like 86-90 I went here when I was in cubs. I remember doing archery and abseiling and also going over a rocking rope bridge which a guide said the river had red bellies in. Remember it was fun. Slept in dormatries in beds. Can't believe it's still going after all those years but the memories were hidden in my mind untill now

My son refers MotB as his "happy place". He has been going here from the moment he was old enough to attend the summer camps and I truly believe that the experience has really shaped him. He comes back brimming with stories and glowing with health from all the fresh food he has eaten. Yes you could send your child to another camp but in my opinion no-where compares to the caring, confidence-building and inspiring experience that is offered by Mill on the Brue. My son has made friends for life and memories and experiences that will equip him for the challenges of life.

My school has been visiting Mill on The Brue for over 20 years. Our Year 6 children spend a fabulous week of challenging, fun activities led by staff whose enthusiasm, care and safety-sense is hard to beat. Each year there are improvements to the site so that accommodation, catering, equipment and resources always seem to get better. This is no ordinary activity centre - this is a special place which creates great memories to last a lifetime.

All I ever get is tears from my daughter after a week at MoB. She misses it so much when she gets home she literally cries for a week. After that she talks non stop for the next week about the activities and the friends and the fun. Week three and she's now scheming how she might be able to do a 2 week stay next year. This was her third year and she seems to have enjoyed it more than ever. Don't know what your secret is Matt and family, but it works! She is counting how many more years she'll be able to attend. And then, sorry, but she wants to come back as an instructor....!

Our eleven and eight year old boys came to Mill on the Brue this summer from Wellington, New Zealand. They live a pretty outdoors life and thought they knew it all. How wrong they were. In their own words, they had the best two days of their lives at Mill on the Brue, had heaps of adventures, made lots of English friends and loved the homemade organic meals. We can't thank Tricia and Matt Rawlingson Plant, and all the staff, enough for the experience and opportunities the boys had and we can't recommend highly enough that your kids go too.

My favourite activity was archery, my second favourite was the zipwire. I really like the food (the spaghetti is really nice). Take a Teddy bear to cuddle when you're homesick. My bed was really comfy but the rooms were a teeny bit smaller than what I was expecting. Still, it's a great place for a school residential. Also, Zero Heroes is a good idea.

What a fantastic place, this outdoor activity centre is just amazing. The children get so many opportunities from here with great staff and an ethos that is second to none. I was here, camping with 51 primary school children, the facilities are brilliant.

A fantastic location, great staff, this place is like a second family to the children who come again and again and again. It's family run, you can trust them entirely and relax or work :-( for one or two weeks knwing the children are in good hands, eating wonderful organic food, grown on the premises for most of it. The activities are mind blowing, wip wire, far camp and so much more. My two older children just finished their week there for the third year. Younger is going next year. My advise, book early on for the early bird fee and because they only have small groups of kids and you don't want to be left out!

This is an absolutely fantastic venue for summer camps. The children have lots of space on this beautiful farm and they offer an incredible amount of fun activities. On top of all this they manage to create an extremely friendly, positive atmosphere.

My daughter and my son spent a week of summer camp this summer. First summer camp, first experience in english (my kids have a basic understanding of english). Matt and the staff have been fantastic and very professional. The camp is amazing and activities originals. The kids had their best from their week.

Fantastic opportunity for the boys who've really enjoyed their time here over the last four years. Beautiful spot, deliberately keep smaller numbers of children, with kids coming from all over the UK and Europe and beyond. So pleased my boys have the chance to go here.

Would never go there again.

Would never go there again.
Went with a youth rugby club for the afternoon.
Group of about 60 kids.
It took over 3 hours to do 2 activities because of no staff being there.
Which lasted about 10 minutes total.
And the staff that was there.
One in particular had no patience with the kids and spoke to them all in a very bad manner.
He obviously isn't a people person.

The school that I work for has been bringing Year 3 children to Mill on the Brue for many years and there is a very good reason for our continued loyalty; the standard of organisation, professionalism and attention to detail is excellent. The children invariably have the time of their lives and talk about their experiences for year afterwards. I would not hesitate to recommend Mill on the Brue to another school or organisation.

Wow! What an incredible place MotB is! We have been bringing a school party of sixty 9-10 year olds here for over ten years and I can honestly say it never fails to deliver a totally amazing outdoor experience to them.
We are consistently impressed by the visionary way the centre moves forward each year whilst remaining true to its "family" feel and core values.
While we are there, the children are challenged to exceed what they feel they can in an appropriate manner, the food is excellent, the site and accommodation exceptionally clean and well maintained.. we even seem to get great weather each time, too!
As a school, we always benefit from the high calibre instruction this centre provides. Each year, even when new staff have been recruited, this continues to be the case and the children in our school come away having been exposed to superb role models where every child feels that they matter and have been fully included in the week's experience.
It is worth noting that quieter members of our school always flourish at MotB, due not only to the skill of the instructional team but also to the way that the programme is carefully designed to be a balance between outdoor/adventurous activities and perhaps those with a more environmental or problem solving leaning.
Really cannot praise this outdoor centre enough. Joy

I have been sending my daughter Rafa to MOB for 5 years now and every year she loves it more! She already asked if next year she can stay for 2 weeks as it's going to be her last year due to her age.
She has made so many friends not only from England but from America, Spain, Russia and Italy!
MOB is extremely well managed and they pay attention to details. All the staff is very friendly. The kids learn a lot and enjoy life as kids with no gadgets around! My daughter also mentioned how nice the food is. It's a shame next year it's going to be her last year because every time I sent her to MOB it's guaranteed that she will a have a week of fun!

A very beautiful landscape location run by people with a healthy life etiquette. We were there to discuss the use of the venue for a wedding next year and it ticked our boxes wonderfully. Many other activities are run from this place and I'm sure their approach will be just as successful in those domains as they are in weddings.

We had a 2 night stay here with our school and the place is amazing! Very friendly staff, a huge range of activities and lots of delicious food too. We couldn't find anything to improve and we'll be back next year like a shot.

Well where to begin, i feel as if i have grown up ...

Well where to begin, i feel as if i have grown up here, i first came to Mill on the Brue when i was 13 and had the most incredible time, everyone was so friendly and easy to talk to and there were so many different and exciting activities to do, the Zip Wire, HIgh Ropes, Tunneling, Making pizzas,Canoeing, Camping at Near Camp... the list goes on.
The week went so quickly i couldn't wait to come back. When i was asked to come back and be a Group Leader while at University, i could not have been happier, i spent two amazing summers at Mill On The Brue. I consider everyone there ,extended family. Every child who was there could not have been happier and all of them wanted desperately to stay for two weeks. The food is exceptional and the quality of care for the children is truly something to behold, every staff member goes above and beyond to make sure every child's needs are met.
Mill On The Brue is simply one of a kind and I love being able to come and visit when i can, everyone is always so welcoming when i come back to visit.
