We bought a "Custom Home" built and sold by Tommy Miles and his group, over a year ago. We've had nothing but issues since day one. The plumbing, hvac, millwork, sewage etc have all been a nightmare and very costly to get sorted and corrected. There is also the inconvenience of Tommy's continual construction in the area. We knew there would be more development in the area and was fine with that but we were blindsided by what we've experienced. Heavy equipment and machinery is being operated at ALL times of the day and night, seven days a week, just feet from us and the other homes. There are several children that play in the neighborhood including our grandchildren and we are constantly worried for their safety do to the close proximity to our homes in which heavy equipment is being carelessly operated. Tommy also allows the constant transport of heavy equipment via public roadways rather than properly hauling the equipment from one location to another. That is a major safety concern and is diminishing the quality of our local roadways. We are also having to constantly clean up and haul off building materials that somehow keep finding their way on to our property. It's unfortunate that Tommy hires cheap laborers rather than skilled tradesmen and skilled equipment operators with some professionalism. Sadly, my husband and I have been approached by several other nearby homeowners with the same quality of construction issues and stressing the same noise and safety concerns. We had high hopes for Tommy and his integrity as a home builder and realtor but have been let down and disappointed to say the least. I hope this review helps someone else as I feel we could have saved a lot of time and money had we done better research. Good Luck!

My wife and I are retired and recently relocated to Springtown. We were comfortably living on the outskirts of Azle until a large oil and gas company built a compressor station near our residence. The facility noise and lease road traffic noise became unbearable so after a few years of trying to cope with it we decided to cut our losses and move on. We bought a new home from Miles Realty and now live on Jo Jones road. The home buying experience and process was great until everything was finalized and we got moved in. I've lost count of how many repairs we've already had to make to our brand new home. We've spent hot days without ac and cold days without heat. We've also went more than 6 hours at a time without water while repairs were being made to the plumbing. Electrical, sewer etc has all been a disaster. Aside from all of that, it feels just like our previous residence of 22 years did the last 3 years we were there. Tommy Miles and his nearby development has been a total nightmare. We have actually been experiencing more noise and other issues living here than we ever had living nearer to a larger city and next to a 4 acre oil & gas facility and it's lease road. Tommy Miles and his buffoon's have absolutely no respect or courtesy for others. We are constantly, day and night, hearing loud rumbling, roaring and beeping construction equipment and loud rumbling vehicles. It goes on seven days a week, day and night. The noise is never isolated to one area either. Tommy's employees drive large construction equipment all around the area on public roads and even on private property. The area is complete chaos and has been for a long time based on what we are experiencing and what other folks all around the area have told us. A majority of the noise and chaos comes from 371 Young Road (Young Rd & James Goldie Dr). It is a dumping ground where some of Tommy's employees live in a couple of old houses. It is also a staging area for all of Tommy's large construction equipment. If Tommy's employees aren't driving in and out of there all day and night on construction equipment then they're constantly in and out in their own personal unnecessarily loud vehicles. Tommy in his large black truck and all of his employees are always parking construction equipment and personal vehicles along the roads blocking most access thru the area, day and night. My wife and I have been leaving out and coming home on Old Springtown Rd and Young Rd to avoid the busy and dangerous intersection of FM 51 and Sandlin. Well, last weekend when my wife was bringing the grandchildren over for a visit, a woman on a large tractor backed right out in front of her at 371 Young Road. Luckily my wife was paying attention because the woman on the tractor was not. We now have to take the longer loop around Sandlin to get home as to avoid the dangerous intersection of FM 51 & Sandlin and to avoid Tommy's dump at 371 Young Road. The list goes on and on! My wife and I are unfortunately now considering relocating, again. The noise and chaos in the area is too dangerous and has now also become a health issue because of the loss of sleep and rest. This is what our local communities and people have become. So sad but absolutely true. My advice would be to avoid living within or even passing through a 5 mile radius of 371 Young Road. Very dangerous and inconsiderate people have made this area very unpleasant.

My husband's parents came down from North Dakota for the Thanksgiving holiday and it was not a pleasurable experience because of Tommy Miles!!! They were to be here from Wednesday the 27th through Wednesday the 4th. They were forced to leave early, Monday the 2nd, due to the lack of sleep from all of the continuous obnoxious noise in the area. We all couldn't believe that Tommy Miles actually had contractors working on Thanksgiving. My father-in-law had to raise his voice just to say grace over our Thanksgiving meal because of all of the generators and large equipment being used nearby. The noise never stopped throughout the holiday weekend. It had actually gotten much worse around 4 a.m., Monday the 2nd. To make matters worse, Tommy's heavy equipment holding yard and dump actually adjoins to several of the new lots and homes where he is developing. One of Tommy's laborers lives at the equipment yard & dump in an old dilapidated rent house and is a very loud and inconsiderate individual. We are constantly hearing kids screaming, several dogs barking and his old dreadful gray chevrolet truck revving and racing all around the neighborhood and surrounding areas at all times of the day and NIGHT. The guy acts and drives like a teenager. My father-in-law says that the truck has an illegal exhaust that has likely been sawed off somewhere under the truck. It's just as loud or louder than all of the heavy construction equipment. We were told by another neighbor that they are considering having a Sheriff's Deputy come out and get a decibel reading on the truck because there are sound ordinances and noise laws for vehicle exhausts when operating within certain distances of residences. Very poor and distasteful choice of transportation on his part. This only further confirming what Mrs. Steele had said in her review. Obviously Tommy only hires cheap, inexperienced and careless laborers instead of skilled tradesman and professionals. We have been told by a few of our nearby neighbors that the noise has started being a health concern for them and their children due to the lack of sleep it has caused them. Either Tommy and his laborers don't have the common sense to understand the magnitude of the noise disturbances or they just don't care. I truly feel that they just DO NOT CARE due to the fact that multiple neighbors said they have called in stressing their displeasure and they were basically ignored and nothing has changed. No way can these poor construction practices be legal, within the city limits or not. It would be interesting to see what Parker County or the State of Texas would have to say about all of this.
The construction of our home was sub-par as well. Our biggest concern at the moment is our foundation. After a few good rains our exterior doors will hardly close. After looking a little closer at the foundation we have noticed concrete spalling. We have a foundation company coming soon to check the foundation thoroughly. We have a feeling this is about to get VERY costly. We had a few concerns prior to the purchase of the home and Tommy was quick to address the issues but now that the purchase is complete and the money is in his pocket he is no longer around or concerned. We tried reaching out to him and even his realty group several times and there was either no response or they were short and arrogant with us, especially Jacob Miles. We have never dealt with such a careless, greedy and arrogant group of people. Please do your research and make sure that you find a builder and broker or realty group that actually cares about you and your family and not just the money! Try to avoid the "Take the Money and Run" kind of people!!!
