Nothing to like about this company, Nothing but bad experiences since purchasing the truck. Terrible service team, they have had my truck for over 2 weeks for an abs light. Techs must be lacking knowledge, they say it's not business as usual it's business as personal, they are far fetched from their moto, don't ever take vehicle here for service, you can go to,any Chevy dealearship with your warrantee. David the service manager is a joke, absolutely worst experience ever with these guys, my problems are so ridiculous I went straight to Chevrolet and filled a complaint with them. I will most likely pick my truck up after 2 weeks with the service not even done because they are so bad I don't even want my vehicle there anymore. They claim to have re wired my radio and automatic start, and at the rate they are going they probably made it worse. Just terrible experiences every time I have to deal with them. Once you sign for that vehicle you are meaning less to them.
These people were fantastic, I traveled from Ohio to purchase a Suburban from them, the people were very helpful before and after the sale, they even made several follow-up contact with me to make sure everything was okay with the vehicle

My only issue - I booked online for a time that is considered lunch time. It was available online but no one is there to work on your car. They say they're working to align the online system with their work hours & worked swiftly to complete the work once the service personnel were back.
I found the salesperson, Tom Dyer to be excellent. Any questions that I had were answered in a timely and complete manner. During delivery, the car was ready as promised. Tom was thorough during the delivery showing my wife and I all the features of the car, and answering all of our questions.

My experiences with Jim Barnard has been nothing but terrible and inconvenient. Awful service EVERY single time I brought the car back for a problem. They could never seem to fix anything right the first time.- always had to return a day or 2 later. The car had a habit of dying and stalling out- but once it died while I was driving it on 390 late one night, I was done with it. Unbelievably, they seemed very unconcerned with this and were unable to find the problem. They sold me a terrible car and basically refused to help me at the end of the day. Will never return there for purchases or service.
UPDATE: Nothing was ever done for me to fix the terrible issues I had here. The managers/owners replied to my bad comments saying come in and we'll help you. I went in and they were NOTHING but rude. Please DO NOT SHOP HERE. These people are rude, scam artists that are only interested in the money at the end of the day, not the customer.
I've also just noticed they use their sales team and employees to rate 5 stars to keep their ratings from going down.
Originally I had a great experience with Jim Barnard Chevy. Financed a 2010 Chevy Equinox February of 2017. Ive been very good with keeping up maintenance but very recently, It broke down and I found out it needs a new transmission. I called to ask their advice and see if they would be able help in some way. Im more than likely going to have to finance a new vehicle while I still owe for this one. In short, I wasnt given much hope and no offer to try and help me finance again through them in this situation. Felt even more overwelmed when I hung up the phone :(

We had a wonderful experience at Barnard Chevrolet. My husband and I purchased a Chevy Silverado and a Chevy Equinox a couple of weeks ago from Barnard. The two of us have had several experiences with various dealerships and always left the deal feeling like we were ripped off. This was not the case at Barnard. We feel that we got the best possible deal and that they truly wanted to earn our business. Patrick, our salesman, explained everything so well. I was impressed by the fact that we got a tour of the entire facility and about an hour of explanation on each vehicle that we purchased. He even set up our on-star for us! We will certainly be doing business with Barnard from now on!

No one even said hello. No one said, we are a little busy, be with you soon or take my name and number. Terrible experience. Everyone walks around and pretends they don't see you.
I think I already posted this but will again. I have always had a positive experience at Jim Barnard from lease of the vehicle a yr. ago to present. They have always reminded me when service is due and are always right on time. When they say the vehicle will be done in an hour, it is done!! The sales and service staff are knowledgeable and most of all very courteous. When my lease is up, I will definitely re-up with Jim Barnard as will my husband who had a negative experience at another dealership. We live in Spencerport but would travel wherever to deal with Barnard Chevrolet. I am a GM person and have been for over 40 years--love my GM cars.
Our salesman was Tom Dyer. He is just SUPER !!! He is easy to talk to, answered our many questions and certainly knows his product. Then he walked us through all the features on the new Cruz.

I went to Jim Barnard to try to buy a used car. I spoke with Kevin Hinkley.the salesperson. AFTER negotiating on a price, their offer was $700 to high for me on this car. I said no deal. Then the sales manager comes into the salespersons office ( an old guy ) and thanks me for coming into the dealership and spending my time there and shake's my hand. Then it goes terribly wrong from here. The sales manager then tries strong arm tactics by telling why i don't see the value in this car and cannot believe i would walk away from this deal.He was RUDE and did his RANT in front of my 13 year old daughter and the salesperson !! My daughter could not believe the way the sales manager acted. SO I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO JIM BARNARD.
This is my hometown, go-to dealership - our family has bought cars here for about 40 years and we recommend people to this Dealership all the time - very happy with the selection, the service, and especially our salesman, Tommy Dyer. Would never buy anywhere else!
Had a regular oil change performed. I advised the guys when I checked in that a guard plate below the vehicle had a free spinning screw. They said, no problem, we will check it out. About 30 min later while I was in the waiting area, my adviser came out and said that there is a free spinning bolt, but that they didn't need to replace it or anything because the guard plate can turn enough for them to complete the oil change. I was so happy, and to be honest, it renewed my trust in taking a vehicle to dealership for any type of repair. Thank you Jim Barnard service team.
Considering this is a fleet vehicle, you have always treated it as if I owned it. That I truly appreciate it. When next I purchase a new vehicle, I will be calling on Jim Barnard Chevrolet as an option to consider.

Walked out after salesman Tim Barnard was rude and insulting to my daughter and I. He was dressed unprofessionally and approached us as if we were a bother to him. He also insinuated to us that we were stupid. After all of this, he didn't even show us the car we came in to test drive! I will NOT recommend this dealership to any of my family or friends. If you browse through the reviews most of the 5 stars are from their employees. Awful experience.
This was my second purchase from this dealership. Each time I dealt with Tim. Both buying experiences were pleasant and complete without any hitches. I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle.
This dealer is overall great! I had an idea of what I was looking for before I entered the door, which made things easier for everybody, though I strongly believe they would have still satisfied me, even having to start from the beginning. Instantly, Jen greeted me and sat me down to discuss my personal needs, wants and budget for a new vehicle. She was very patient and informative about the car buying process (being that this was my first purchase of a car from a dealer). We went for a test drive in a few vehicles and finally, went back to talk numbers. Jen got me out the door with a car that satisfied everything on my list, and was precisely on my budget. I went off the road during a snow storm and put my truck into a tree. They got it fixed up in a few days and took care of things with my insurance company.

Service Department is a home run! Great people - from service writers Don, Dave & Caroline to the mechanics! They meet / greet you w/ how can I help you at the start and always asks if anything else is needed when you leave.

Got great service this time. Service Manager went for test drive with me and was able to detect and explain my vibration to me. It put me at ease. The only knock is that I was there for 2 hrs for an oil change and tire rotation so it would be nice to see them improve the timing of those, however, great waiting area with lots of amenities to hold you over. Overall great service.
