I have never been more bored trying to learn a language than when trying this program. I hate it with a burning passion, and will continue to until the day I die. this app doesn't even deserve 1 star, it deserves none.
Had Middlebury online for my classes, it's boring and I didn't bother doing it at all. The activities are too easy, the words are color coded so that it's easy to guess which words go where for the matching mini-"games". For example, for that one matching activity, the blue colored words will always go to the top left corner, making it easier to just place the words there than learn it. Overall, a 1 star is far too kind to give, wish it could be a 0 star, a 0.5 is ok for their efforts.
This is horrible! Im trying to learn German and this is the worst place I could have gone. I have to learn and memorize 35 vocab words in 2 days! And I was taking a test and they were asking me questions in German but I couldn't understand the question because they never taught me what the question says in English. Don't use, it's not worth it.

I have been using Middlebury since Fall of 2020, for my Mandarin Classes. Every lesson is the exact same formatting (except 4 lessons, the midterms and finals of each semester, which are all the same as the other anyways) to the point where it gets boring and repetitive. 34 lessons in, not once have I memorized any of the vocabulary, unless I already learned it before Middlebury. The method of "teaching", which involves showing the vocabulary a few times and expecting us to memorize it is ineffective, and not "Interactive" as the title of this service/product says. And for the activities, they're just guessing games. There is no motivation to actually put effort into it, to the point where I put the answers in randomly and hope RNG is on my side.
In Conclusion:
You don't learn from this program. Don't waste your money on it.
Don't take this course this is the biggest waste of time while learning languages
This is perhaps the worst thing to ever be created. I am greatly offended that the lowest possible score is one star - this is far too kind. Middlebury almost made me jump out of my window due to the sheer amount of stress and pointless work (keep in mind i work on the 13th floor). I would recommend this to anyone who has no will to live and needs some inspiration for which to die for.
I'd rather do duolingo than Middlebury, middlebury is murdering my sanity.
