My boyfriend cut his toe very badly in a camping accident this weekend while we were out in a remote location near Maupin. We were able to contact the hospital and let them know we were on our way in and once we arrived he was taken in right away. Both the nurse Joshua and the ED physician Dr. Moore were wonderful. We were in an out within a few hours which was surprising given the rather serious nature of his injury with all the info and diagnostics needed to follow up at home in PDX. I highly recommend this hospital! Awesome service.
(Dr. Moore even called a few days later to follow up and ask how he was doing)

I have had the best care and I was never made to feel like I was cattle being shoved through the chute like the other hospitals in the area where you're just a number or referred to Portland. I am not interested in being treated in Portland. I was sent to the Emergency room for an unexpected heart issue I was seen immediately and treated immediately. I am now in the process of trying to change my insurance so I can continue with MCMC cardiology.

I was very happy with the care that I received from my doctors at MCMC, however, the billing department gave me the run around in regards to my insurance. After being transferred between several people, the billing agent at the hospital admitted that the pathology services outright lied to me about who submits the coding. Because of that, I was stuck with a bill applied to my deductible instead of being covered as preventative care by my insurance as it should have been. I am changing my primary care providers and will drive 20 miles out of my way to Hood River instead because of this.

I delivered my 2nd son here. The birth went exactly as I had dreamed. They were so supportive of me doing it all natural and they offer water birth which I did and it really helped with the pain. The nurses were just perfect! So sweet and knowledgeable. Checking up on me and giving me space. The perfect amount of everything.

My prenatal care was fantastic too! It s a group of women doctors who all work together. So I was able to meet all of them. They were very supportive of me choosing natural birth and actually they already do so many things that other hospitals don t like delayed cord clamping, skin to skin, etc. In the beginning I was so nervous because I gave birth at home with my first and had a beautiful experience... I wanted to have the same in the hospital- for insurance purposes.
Mandy was my midwife/ doctor and she was fantastic!! I highly recommend her and the other doctors!

I had double pneumonia and was assumed I probably would not survive after being admitted to other hospitals. Their respiratory therapy and ICU were outstanding and ensured my recovery.

Kind staff and great bedside manner.

I waited in the waiting room for 30 min and when I went in it took the doctor 3 hours Just to come in and see me . The nurse was very rude . I told her I needed to go pee and she told me to wait if I could and to not wait to long. So I went and after I came back she was mad. I would tell her that I was in pain and she didn t seem to care. All the doctors and nurses were just sitting down talking instead of paying attention to the patients. I think you need to be dying in order to get their attention. Worst experience ever !

My brother needed intensive rehab and spent 2 weeks at the Mpower program on the 3rd floor. The hospital receptionists were always warm and friendly. Can't say enough positive things about the Team serving the rehab floor-- without exception from the physicians to the CNAs... top notch professionals who were both caring, knowledgeable . 3 hours of rehab.a day yielded amazing results. He came in on a stretcher, despondent and in need of acute medical care in addition to the rehab. In such a short time he made so much progress toward functional independent living..and left with a more positive outlook on his future. Highly recommend for rehab

Had to go to the ER. Waited for over 3 hours and still did not see a doctor. This is pathetic you can call yourself a hospital but make people wait like that. There was only a total of 3 people waiting and we all waited this long. Bad, bad, bad

I recently had major surgery at MCMC. The surgery went far better than I was expecting. The doctors explained things well and I could not have asked for better staff to help me through recovery. The nurses were kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. They explained things very well and made sure I had what I needed and was comfortable. Thanks for the great care!!

This review is for the Emergency Room of this facility.

I am extremely appreciative and thankful for the quality of service I received. It was thorough and respectful, which more than justifies the wait time. The staff could have jumped to a conclusion from the start, but instead took the time to consider the circumstances and consult their references.
Through check-in, consultation and treatment, the staff members were patient, sensitive and helpful. I would certainly return here if I required care in the future.

Emergency rooms sometimes, unfortunately, have to prioritize patients based on need; be respectful and give the ER staff your patience in return. I commend and thank the doctors, nurses and staff for their effort.

First rate care from pre-surgery interviews to wheelchair exit. Dr. Paul Moon and the team were professional and very competent. Shiela was very personable while asking the pre-surgery questions. They even provided a complementary neck massage which eased anxiety and tensions while waiting for the surgery room to be prepared. These folks work very hard and do a great job. The only thing I would change is the procedure for changing into the hospital gown. Shiela directed me to change in the restroom, which consists of a toilet, sink and about 8 inches of space between the toilet and the side and back wall. There is only about a foot between the front wall and the edge of the sink, making it virtually impossible to change out of street clothes and into hospital gown without risking contamination on a restroom surface (the doors did contain hangers, but they were insufficient to hold all the clothing). This is the weak link in the clean chain and is the only thing I would change. Therefore I give MCMC (now part of OHSU) a top recommendation. I was pleasantly surprised.

Not very fond of this place. ER staff is friendly but doesn't listen to patients. I ended up having to have three visits over a month period before they believed my 'heartburn' was more serious and I was rushed into emergency surgery. Nearly died. :( Three stars because the surgery went well, but I would rather drive to Hood River if I could for ER services from now on.

I was just there couple days ago to drain out a cyst that I had. Hours later after I was being seen I immediately started getting cramps very bad ones horrible I couldn t take the pain anymore and the cramping got worse. The nurses couldn t do anything at all I had the worst experience ever in that hospital and to make it worse I heard the nurses laugh I wasn t sure if they were laughing at me or what but it seem like it. All I know is God sees everything. I don t wish bad on anyone on what I went through. Also when I had the needle pull out on my right arm because due to me trying to reach to my calf s to masssage my leg. I screamed for help the nurses took awhile to come ASAP and one of them was omg come closer I don t want to get blood on me uhhh hello this is your job get some freaking gloves on quick and help me. Nope they were the worst Nurses ever. STOP telling ppl to become an RN because of the pay. If that person doesn t have the heart for it, it s NOT for them. Then y all wonder why your family members get mistreated in these facilities. That s because half of the nursing staff is only there for a paycheck. As a matter of fact, this applies to any position in the healthcare industry. If your heart isn t in it, find a different career path.

Terrible terrible terrible! Lack of experience and integrity immediately come to mind when visiting this dump. They all needed colorful clown outfits to go with their act because this place is down right pathetic. Go to Hood River if you ever have an emergency unless you want to gamble with you're life. Also be prepared to get the run around in all directions from the valley girls in the billing department. What a joke!
