About Miat
Miat: Promoting Productive Public Discussion on Major Issues
The Major Issues and Theology Foundation (MIAT) is a non-profit organization that was established in 2001 with the aim of promoting productive public discussion within the Australian community on major issues of moral, ethical, theological and social significance. MIAT has been at the forefront of promoting dialogue and debate on some of the most pressing issues facing Australia today.
At MIAT, we believe that open and honest discussion is essential for a healthy democracy. We are committed to creating an environment where people from all walks of life can come together to share their views and opinions on important issues. Our goal is to foster understanding, respect, and tolerance among Australians by encouraging them to engage in meaningful conversations about topics that matter.
One of our primary objectives at MIAT is to promote ethical leadership in Australia. We believe that leaders who act with integrity are essential for building a strong society based on trust and mutual respect. To this end, we organize workshops, seminars, conferences, and other events aimed at developing ethical leadership skills among individuals from all sectors of society.
Another area where MIAT has made significant contributions is in promoting interfaith dialogue. We recognize that religious diversity is an integral part of Australian society and that it presents both opportunities as well as challenges. Through our various initiatives such as interfaith forums, dialogues between different faith communities, we seek to promote greater understanding between people from different religious backgrounds.
MIAT also plays an active role in addressing social justice issues such as poverty alleviation, human rights protection for refugees & asylum seekers etc., through advocacy campaigns & awareness-raising activities.
Our work at MIAT would not be possible without the support of our dedicated team members who bring their expertise & passion towards achieving our mission & vision; volunteers who contribute their time & energy towards making our events successful; donors whose generosity enables us to continue doing what we do best - promoting productive public discussion on major issues.
In conclusion, MIAT is a unique organization that has made significant contributions to promoting productive public discussion on major issues in Australia. Our commitment to ethical leadership, interfaith dialogue, and social justice has helped us build a strong reputation as a trusted voice in the community. We invite you to join us in our mission of creating a more just and equitable society for all Australians.
