Don't expect any miracles from this police department. Their detectives and officers make you feel trivial and drag their feet when they "investigate" a crime. Their officers regularly refuse to assist you if you're not in that officers district as has happened to a few friends. As a victim of now three crimes, I can tell you that contacting the police can feel utterly pointless. They make you feel like the criminal or worse that you're a waste of their time.

The LGBT community will remain marginalized and disproportionately targeted and left unprotected. Their investigation and prosecution of these crimes is so not prioritized and they consistently claim that "they're not sure" if the deaths of black trans woman is a hate crime. Yet they are real quick to point out hate crimes towards cops.
Borderline sociopaths only around to shoot things. These "law enforcement officers" want exactly that they like the feeling of necks underneath boots.They want to enforce their power on you. It's a shame we don;t have peace officers anymore just violent psychopaths who shoot service dogs off duty without identifying them self. Than the rest of the precinct while using unjust laws to literally steal your possessions and use it to buy tequila cover up the crime. But jack booted thugs like this are only here to shoot you and your dog, only a few years and they will be as bad as the police in Mexico.
Currently standing on Sherman Ave NW, car broken into, called 911 at 12am it is 1:15 still no sign of police. Dispatch called at 1am told me to hold, just to hang up on me. A COMPLETE JOKE AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE S WELL-BEING
THANK YOU - I could not have asked for better help than these police officers. I live in Oklahoma & our daughter (alone) was on vacation in DC. All of a sudden we lost total contact with her. All my efforts resulted in ZERO. It had been 24 hours & I still could not reach her. I contacted these fine men & women & from other precincts & they actually went to the apt she rented for the week & she was able to call us. Her phone was stolen & she was trying to contact us but - for some reason other methods failed. THANK YOU - THANK YOU = good report on parents worst nightmare - that something has happened to someone in their family.
I had an ugly encounter with a DC cop today, in the 1st District, who ticketed me and was rude and harassing in his behavior. Not only that, but he ticketed me for something I had not done wrong. I immediately went to the precinct office where he soon showed up and began talking about me saying that "I was another person who thinks they are above the law." After 1.25 hours discussing and venting to the supervisor on duty about the abusive incident, the supervisor finally admitted the officer was wrong and took back the ticket. However, she was not inclined to do so and obviously much preferred to back her officer. It is unfortunate that the police are so prone to sticking up for their own rotten apples.
I explained that I feared this officer was dangerous and that it concerned me that he knew my address and had a gun. I'm not sure why I was targeted by this jerk, whether racism or whatever, but it is not the first time I've been disappointed with DC police. And I am tired of their BS. This posting will at least be a record that if I am right, that is officer is dangerous and tries anything in retaliation for my complaint, there will be a record that I warned the supervisor and posted this.
Im doing a project for my criminal Justice class and i had to call to find out if this branch was closed because on the map showed that it was closed ( which it wasn't ), the woman who answered the phone was so polite and helpful i even got some help on one of my questions for my report. THANK YOU!!
