I so want to love this service but it's completely hit and miss. Their youth dance programs are fantastic and well-organized. The teachers are excellent and well-managed by the program director.

Their youth team sports (mostly softball) are exactly the opposite. We've had kids in them for five years and every year it's the same: register months in advance, radio silence and then suddenly (usually during spring break!) we hear from a coach saying that practice starts the next night and oh, there's a jamboree this weekend. Often, the coach hasn't been given a full roster yet, doesn't have a team name, colors or uniform ready to go. The officiating is generally pretty bad, too: the umpires are very inconsistent and don't appear to understand the league rules.

5 stars for the dance program. 1 for the youth sports.

The woman who answers their main number, by the name of Christine, is very rude and unprofessional. EVERY time I call, she acts as if she cannot hear me, then when I call back, she lets it go straight to VM. No assistance in getting the information I'm requesting. Why not allow someone who enjoys speaking to the public answer the phone, as opposed to giving the responsibility to someone who seems so disengaged.

The front desk worker, i believe her name is Rachel, is unbelievably rude and disrespectful as if she hates her job and children. This is on top of the issues i experienced with poor coaching that they did nothing about last year At the age of 5,6,and 7 favorites should not be played.

Rude and unorganized. Paid over 2 weeks ago for my son to start soccer. First game was supposed to be this Saturday. Nope.! They don't even have enough coaches. Email them, get no response or one saying they are out of the office. Then I finally get someone on the phone and they have a coach for Larchmont but no practice day or time set up or a game time for Saturday. Never got any communication from the coach but the lady gives me his number so I can call him and he says he is still in the process. He is waiting on more info from metro parks Tacoma. So pretty much no game this Saturday with no other make-up one scheduled for the children and no practice day or time but for a refund they want to email me a check. How about I paid CASH give me CASH.

I signed up my son to play baseball this summer he's been playing baseball since he was 4 years old. When I went in and talked to a receptionist she told me that practices will be held Mondays and Wednesdays but she didn't know exactly what the times they where going to be That it was going to be up for the coachs to determine the times. I then got a text from the coach saying practices were going to be Tuesdays and Thursdays but we have church Tuesdays and Thursdays so we weren't able to make it I called Metro Parks office and the lady was so rude she told me she didn't have the time to be calling all different coaches to see what time practices are for their teams. so she refunded my money. Very poor customer service and extremely rude. I will be taking my son else where to be playing baseball.

Tacoma has some great waterfront parks and as a traveling photographer this is a plus! The older the pilings the better.

The children's play area has lots of fun equipment, such as swings, slides and a water feature. The park sits next to a fire station and a community center. You do need to keep the kids close and keep an eye out for trouble makers, including small kids with potty mouths. There is plenty of shade and room to kick a ball around. You'll need to be vigilant here, since not so nice people like to collect there too.
