Good animals, fun for family, alot of hills, but a good day of fun with family.
Enjoyed it. Nice plants and happy camels. Tiger jaguar enclosures too small.
I love the zoo and after speaking to one of their employees I'm excited for what they're planning!!
While small, the animals are well kept and there's plenty of extra experiences to keep the kids interested. If you only have a short time, hop on and off the tram for two bucks a rider. The carousel has a good variety of animals to ride on for two bucks per rider. The gift shop had plenty of variety for all ages. The cafe was reasonably priced with good variety and friendly staff.
This place is the most awesome spot in Evansville. We have quite an attraction, lots of animals and super friendly staff. For a Zoo in a small City this is 5 stars all day long!!
Beautiful area, not a lot of animals to see for the price
This zoo is very tiny and they don't have a lot of animals. We didn't get to see an elephant, lion or hippopotamus. It was sad for Colton's first trip to the zoo.
I can see why they give a discount for winter months. Hardly any animals out, most cages and habitats were empty. Most things were blocked off due to covid. Was not worth the time or money to go right now. My kiddos were very disappointed.
Diffently go when cooler. Alot of animals were not out!
I have to say the staff there was amazing they treated me and my grandchildren very very good. It's very clean reasonable prices and all this month they're open till 8 in the evening.. I just had a really really really good time there I give them 10 Stars.!!!
Not the biggest, but some great exhibits and plenty of things to see. Some great exhibits built in the last few years with more projects in-progress. Love our hometown zoo.
Not a lot of of animals out and a lot of empty cages the giraffes were fun
Pretty awesome zoo. I've never been to one before. It's a lot of walking but was neat
It was awsome myself and 2 grandsons7n 9 ran up n down hills saying look! Look! We had a blast
Pretty cheap considering how much they offer! The tokens are a bit of a rip off but we kept them as souvenirs for the kids! Super cool to feed the giraffes. Some of the animal confines seem too small but all the animals looked happy and healthy!
The only zoo in town . Nice place in summer time. Enjoying going to it once a year of two.
Small town zoo. We're happy to have it here in Evansville.
What an amazing place!! Great family zoo! If you a chance to go, go!!
Fun place. Not the greatest zoo but nice place to take the family if you need something to do.
Everything was great except for the giraffe feeding.. 2 tokens for 4 half leaves of Romain... While the keepers are continuously feeding the giraffes.. the guy was kind of rude that took our money also.
A really nice zoo!!! I could really actually see the animals. It's a pretty zoo, and can't wait to see it in spring and summer. A fun family pkace!
Great small zoo. Affiliated with a lot of conservation efforts. Lots of walking large enclosures for the animals. Beautiful Amazon exhibit with an orchids show every year.
Awesome exhibits kids loved all the bigger animal exhibits
My son and I love meeker zoo we always have a blast there
Excellent.
We recommend this place.. friendly staff.
Could use more anamils other than that it's pretty average!!!!
Very nice place, one big circle which is great to navigate.. Went on a tuesday and didnt get the full experience with the bumper boats and trolley being closed... But clean and animals looked well maintained which is awesome to see!
Love, love this zoo! A GREAT place to spend the day with the family!
My family and I had a great time when we visited. It was overly crowded and it is a very easy park to navigate. Not a huge zoo but it is nice, clean and kid friendly.
Mesker Park Zoo is a small but growing park. Admission is a great value! For the price of a movie ticket, you can spend the day exploring exhibits and learning more about ecosystems from around the world. The Amazonia South American Rainforest exhibit is my favorite! It provides a great escape from the cold during the winter months. By the way, the park is open 365 days a year. Don't forget to mark your calendar for events like Orchid Escape and Zoo Brew.
Fun lots of exercise grandchildren had an awesome time and not bad on wallet either.
I love this Zoo. I always loved visiting the Zoo! It's not the largest zoo but it's a good zoo. I live very close to the zoo and there are always a bunch of cars there. When the kids walk out they are smiling and happy.
Really was disappointed . Such a long stretch between animals. And Not a Elephant in sight, or a Hippo.where are all the Large Exhibits??? sorry St. Louis next time and for now on.
My wife and I took our daughter here to see the animals. I felt like we may have missed an area, but the zoo is a giant circle. Expect a workout here because there's a lot of hills. Some things really need some repair. It looked like they were working on the repairs though and had a new area being built when we visited. We'll likely choose a different zoo next time, but may revisit eventually.
This is a great zoo. Such a good variety of animals to see and the zoo is well taken care of.
Great zoo experience. You can tell it's more of a low budget zoo but do not let that take away from the experince. You have the ability to feed the giraffes if you so wish and the enclosures feel incredibly close. Since it wasn't crowded I had a better experince here than I do at the st.louis zoo.
It's always nice but they had alot of construction going on and not many animals where out, this time. And the signs need to be a little better at where you're going and where you're at. I had 7 people ask me for direction and they where all holding a map of the place.
It is a nice little zoo, but no especially exciting exhibits. There is plenty of parking. The grounds are fairly hilly, so you will get a nice little work out. Good for a family outing.
Under construction but it's a great family day take it slow kinda zoo. The big cat selection is absolutely amazing and one of our favorites things there were excited to see what all they upgrade and bring in the future but it's a nice place not many activities or areas to interact with anything but again for a small zoo it's really nice
I can see animals and get toys and one of puppy on a leash
All the animals looked sad and miserable , the we pacing back and forth like they were stressed. The tiger was teased because his/her habitat was next to other animals that they would normally hunt , they are lonely which it seemed there was only one animal of each species. Alot of the habitats are closed off and they should be using the money that they are using to build a new one , they should be using to be maintaining the ones You
have already , I will not go back for awhile and definitely do not reccomend .
Mesker Zoo has been a part of the community since I can remember. It is certainly not the largest zoo, but it is well maintained and a very neat place to walk and take our grand kids. The displays and animals are always fun to visit and they are increasing the zoo 'population' all the time. The Botanic Gardens was a great addition. It is full of interesting exhibits as well. Mesker Zoo is a GREAT family attraction for both visitors and residents alike.
Always fun to see the animals. The staff is always nice and helpful .
We love this zoo. It's not huge, but that works out great for our small children. We can just pop in for a few hours, walk around and have fun, and then leave and everyone is happy. The kids love the otter and prairie dog exhibits!
We fed the giraffes...amazing.
We purchased a membership too!
Clean and pretty big for the space. I was sad to see how small the habitats were for the Tigers.
Needs a package deal for carousel, feeding, boat ride, and bumper boats
We love our zoo! We have a family pass and go all the time. Our kids (age 5, 3 & 4mo) all love going. It's so much nicer than when I was a kid!
This was my first time there in a long time. It was beautiful and a great place to take my little girl.
Some of the animals were thin and hungry. No vegetation for the giraffes, rhino, turtles or camels to eat. The tiger, leopard or cheetah and sand cat were pitiful to see because of their stress pacing and inadequate enclosures. Reptiles, fish and monkeys were good. Would have liked to see tarantulas. Overall, clean place, not horrible, but could use improvements.
We liked the amazon space and the creatures of the night exhibit but very few other animals and the poor things looked so sad. For 2 adults and 2 children the price was $36. A little steep for the lack of animals. We will just go to stl soo where they have an abundance of animals and no admittance fee. Wont br back.
Excellent zoo. Took a 2, 8, 10 year old and they all loved the zoo. Reasonably priced. Animal are close to fences and kids loved feeding giraffes.
Very lovely. Went during the winter so we only saw 2 other visitors.
What a clean, well thought out, local zoo. The indoor botanic garden is the exhibit that really shines here. Walking through the garden during colder months is so enjoyable. Animals look content, food selection is nice, and staff are friendly. All around, this is a nice smaller zoo at a nice price.
Mesker Park Zoo is a treasure to the city of Evansville. We are lucky to have a venue lile this in our town. We are members and after 2-3 visite we've paid for it full. Along with all the great animals and beautiful plants its also great exercise walking around the whole park.
I work here and honesty love my job and everything that comes with it! I love all the people and the environment of the Zoo :)
Small zoo, not anything special, but nice. I'm not pro zoo, but at the rate we are destroying this planet, nice see conservation efforts by Mesker. I hope to partake in some of your fund raising events in the future.
Not as big a zoo as St Louis or probably some bigger cities but thats to be expected. They are building new things and they do keep the place clean. Your best value is to become a zoo member if you plan on going any more than once in a one year period. They do have special events and we find its just the right size to visit in a day and not get wore out walkung around. Wife and kids love getting to feed the giraffes.
Had such a good time here. My daughter got to feed the giraffes. It wasn't terribly expensive and alot of fun.
I like the St.Louis Zoo better because it's way bigger and free
A decent small zoo, perfect for a day trip. However, be prepared to scale multiple steep hills to get around the zoo and to see some of the animals.
Some of the animals were quite out-of-the-way, tucked away in a corner in a building, and the bumper boats attraction looked run down and dirty.
Overall, this zoo could do with a little touching up, but not a bad way to spend a couple hours.
