We had to postpone our wedding three times and at this point have toured every venue in the DC area. Meridian House is by FAR the best venue! It is magical by itself, before you introduce one flower or candle, yet can also be transformed for whatever vision you may have for your big day!

The architecture, history, location, parking, indoor and outdoor area (omg the Loggia and the Linden Grove!!!!) is just perfect. But the thing that make it the best venue is Maria Canellis! She was so incredibly professional, prompt and creative in helping us plan a covid wedding! Our vendors needed an extra three days for set up so she was managing a ton of vendors but did it with such grace.

Maria was always the first to give us the latest government guidelines and best practices for our wedding and super empathetic towards us as we have to pivot so many times.

I think she could plan a country take-over by now with her skills! Maria is such a leader and you are in the best of hands if you have any event here!
Thank you Meridian House for our dream wedding!!!!

About Meridian international center

Meridian International Center: Building Global Leaders for a Better World

Meridian International Center is a leading nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC, dedicated to building global leaders who can tackle the world's most pressing challenges. With over 60 years of experience, Meridian has established itself as a trusted partner for governments, businesses, and civil society organizations around the world.

At Meridian, we believe that leadership is not just about holding positions of power but also about having the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on society. Our programs are designed to provide leaders with the tools they need to understand global issues and cultures, exchange ideas with their peers from different countries and backgrounds, collaborate on solutions to common problems, and build valuable relationships that can last a lifetime.

Our suite of programs covers a wide range of topics such as diplomacy and international relations, entrepreneurship and innovation, cultural exchange and arts diplomacy. We work with partners from all sectors - government agencies such as the U.S. Department of State or USAID; private companies like Coca-Cola or IBM; universities such as Georgetown or Harvard - to design customized programs that meet their specific needs.

One of our flagship programs is the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), which brings emerging leaders from around the world to the United States for short-term professional exchanges with their American counterparts. Since its inception in 1940s', IVLP has hosted more than 225000 participants from over 190 countries including heads of state like Margaret Thatcher or Tony Blair; Nobel laureates like Malala Yousafzai or Kofi Annan; business leaders like Jack Ma or Elon Musk; social activists like Nelson Mandela or Aung San Suu Kyi.

Another program that we are particularly proud of is GlobalConnect@Meridian which connects entrepreneurs from emerging markets with mentors in Silicon Valley through an online platform called SeedSpot. This program helps entrepreneurs develop their business ideas into viable startups by providing them access to resources such as funding opportunities or networking events.

We also organize cultural exchange programs that promote mutual understanding between people from different countries through art exhibitions concerts lectures workshops etcetera . For example our Art for Cultural Diplomacy program showcases works by artists who use art as a means of promoting cross-cultural dialogue while our Cultural Diplomacy Forum brings together experts in various fields such as music film literature fashion sports etcetera .

In addition we offer training courses seminars conferences webinars publications research reports podcasts videos blogs social media content etcetera . All these resources are available free-of-charge on our website www.meridian.org where visitors can learn more about what we do how we do it why it matters who benefits etcetera .

At Meridian International Center we believe that building global leaders requires not only knowledge but also empathy respect curiosity creativity adaptability resilience courage integrity humility humor passion optimism vision teamwork communication skills emotional intelligence cultural competence ethical awareness environmental consciousness technological literacy financial acumen political savvy strategic thinking problem-solving abilities risk-taking mindset lifelong learning attitude etcetera . We strive every day to embody these values ourselves so that others may follow suit.
