After strong encouragement, and alot of turmoil for several years, my parents finally consented to move to Meridian. Thats when they began living again.!. I saw my Dad smiling again. He said he was no longer hungry, because he enjoyed the food and the conversation around the table at each meal. Mom loves the socialization, and activities, the road trips to go out to eat, and sightsee
They moved in 1.5 yrs ago. Since then, Dad has passed. The staff is so good at keeping her busy. Since she is legally blind , and a little dementia setting in, she has trouble reading schedule and remembering to go to activities. The staff is always there to remind her. She tells me daily how she is so grateful they made the move when they did!! "What would i have done at home all alone?!" "I have so many friends here, and theres not a helper i dont like!" I think Mom is having more fun than she has had in years. She said"i feel so safe here!"
My brother. and i live in Colorado and Boston. I cant tell you what a comfort it is to know mom is well taken care of! . Everyone is caring, encouraging, and willing to help Mom. We are forever grateful and indebted to the staff of Meridian.

My parents recently moved into Meridian Gardens in need of additional care and support due to the effects of dementia and macular degeneration.

This can be an overwhelming decision to make when it involves your loved ones, but Rachelle was extremely helpful and patient throughout the entire process. Her warm and sincere personality brought comfort, while her enthusiasm helped keep things in perspective. She understood how difficult this decision was, and we are so very thankful to have had her guidance and support during this emotional transition.

While the past few weeks have been an adjustment for my parents, they seem to be settling into their new surroundings. They have met some nice residents and are enjoying participating in some of the many activities that are offered. Time and time again they mention how fabulous the staff has been! It is such a relief to know they are receiving the care they need in such a wonderful place run by outstanding people. Many thanks to Rachelle and the rest of the Meridian staff for making this transition smooth for all of us!

I have a family member that visited Meridian and other assisted living facilities at a time when they wanted input on deciding where to go when the time was right. In the middle of touring Meridian, my family member decided they wanted to move there and wanted a specific apartment that we had toured. They did not want to wait and move later. They wanted to move tomorrow! So, my family member moved in 2 weeks later.
The move to Meridian was a great decision for my loved one and for me as a concerned family member. My family member loved having access to meals, activities, and people. They made friends and were busy. Sometimes too busy to see me! I was happy knowing that meals were prepared (and consumed), laundry was done, medications were taken on time, and housekeeping was provided. My loved one was safe and secure. Life was good again! Most importantly, staff knew my family member very well. Too well. Well enough to have an uncomfortable, gentle, loving, necessary discussion about things they noticed about my loved one, who had lived there a few months. Things I had noticed yet dismissed or not accepted. Staff suggested that we may need to consider a move to Memory Support. They offered to give us a tour and provided information so we could consider this idea. They were supportive and listened to our concerns and empathized with us. Watched me cry as I struggled to make the right decision.
Once again, we moved my loved one 2 weeks later. (It doesn t always work like this. Sometimes there are no openings. We chose to move sooner rather than later when there was an opening.) It was a good decision. The intimacy of the Memory Support unit made it possible for my loved one to flourish again. New friends were made, new activities were provided, and my loved one was happy and outgoing again. Over a year later, they still are happy and loving life. I visit daily and every day I m greeted with a smile and gratitude that they re living at Meridian. The Memory Support staff also knows my loved one very well. They are always open to hearing my concerns and sharing any of theirs. They are also open to any suggestions and willing to try different things. I m so grateful for all the staff as they are the main reason that my family member is living there and doing so well.

The staff at Meridian has been very helpful and supportive throughout the entire process. In the months leading up to the time when my parents moved in they repeatedly visited with them in their home and followed up on all of our questions and concerns. On moving day many of the senior staff members stopped in to say hi and to see if we needed anything. This continued daily through the first week. It has been a significant adjustment for my parents and they are still settling into the new routines and environment. I can't think of anything the Meridian staff could have done better to help them along the journey.

My parents are in the Assisted Living community. Prior to this, they had lived in their home for 57 years, so this was a huge change in their lives. Today, my parents are doing very well. Meridian Gardens offers daily activities that they are involved in including crafts, music, games and regular outings. They have commented many times how good the meals are and how many new friends they have met. The staff is very helpful and always willing to do things to make their residents "feel at home." While it was an adjustment for all of us to move my Mom and Dad, we know it was a good decision - Meridian Gardens is the place for them!

I came to work at Meridian Gardens with a desire to make an impact. After an experience with my own parents, I knew, first hand, how difficult the journey to finding Elder Care can be.
Daily, I hear stories of struggle & confusion, or fear & concern. I have the honor of offering resources that might help. Whether that family ends up choosing Meridian Gardens as their next step or not, I am privileged to offer guidance and appreciate the trust they place in me.
