An obvious staple for great reason. The staff is awesome and the food is even better. Pricey but worth it! Best double baked potatoe I have ever had. Their garlic butter and salad dressing is made in house and is the absolute BEST!
Merichka's has delicious poor boy steak sandwiches. We also had the double baked potato, and salad. The appetizer was fried mushrooms and fried onion rings.
It was on YouTube last night and observe the video of this restaurant I am a Crest Hill resident but I was never on that side of town so today I went there looking forward to eating that poor boy sandwich that looks so good on TV. I ordered that and a small onion ring onion rings were great but we're $9 for a small, the poor boy was $9 look much bigger on TV when I got it home anticipating the taste was I disappointed the size was much smaller came on a garlic bread bun and the Poor Boys steak had absolutely no taste what so ever, I ate an half gave the other half to the dog. surprisingly disappointed. But I will say menu is big, but I wonder about taste.
I ordered a beef poorboy with American Cheese and extra garlic butter. The food did not take long to arrive, and it was hot and fresh. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and was looking for extra ways to help above what was required. Our drinks were consistently being refilled, and the food was delicious. It had been a while since I ve eaten here and I will be back soon. Thank you for the great food and service.
Started going here when I was about 6 yo with my parents. Fast forward 59 years, I still go when in town. I absolutely love this place. It's everything I remember. The building is still the same. Which I like. Wait staff is so sweet and helpful. Restrooms are so clean. It was just an all around enjoyable experience.
I was shocked by how large the menu was, they have such a great variety. We split the poorboy and yodel burger, which was exactly what we were craving...not healthy but so yummy! We'll definitely be back to try other items like the wagyu!

This place was great. I kept hearing how good the poor boy sandwich was so I finally got there to try it and I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend dinning here! Will be going back!

Been coming here for decades. The poorboy dinner is a must. Double baked potato a fav. O-rings really good. Guy at work says the fried chicken good too.
