This venue is wonderful. Good sound system, some barstools to sit on along the walls, nice patio to get some air.
I suggest just buying your tickets in advance online so you don't have to stand in line and wait outside while ticketed folks walk right in. Got confused trying to find it... Cannery Row is well marked from the street, but it feels like you're going into a parking lot when you head to Mercy, which is back and behind the main structure at an angle.

Always a fun venue! Their tickets are affordable and their free parking makes it easy to come see shows. Because the stage is on the second story, you look out the windows in between songs and get a beautiful view of downtown. They manage to fit a surprising amount of seating for being a smaller space.

The two times I have been here, they had one bartender for 200 people. We waited 20 minutes just to be told they were out of the simplest of simple boring ol' domestic light beers. So had to settle for PBR. The bartender on Halloween night was incredibly fast, too. Perhaps the fastest bartender I have ever seen. Yet, it still took that long. We resorted to ordering a ton of beer at once to bring back to our table. This resulted in us having a ton of beer when they suddenly turned on the lights and called it a night. So we had $15-20 in booze that just had to be left there.

It's a great place to see a show if you don't want to drink.

The high watt is a funky little venue. It's oddly built but also oddly comfortable. The acoustics are pretty good. One feature I really like about this place is they have a giant cooler setup for water so you can serve yourself and don't have to bother your bartender to ask for water which I always drink when I'm drinking alcohol!

Is the rule there to stand around for awhile before you get a drink? I say this because I was the only one at the bar at times and nobody was there to help get a drink. .... Rihanna tribute night. However the talent playing that night was Unreal!

I wish there were some seats as this is a standing room only venue. You guessed it, I am an old at heart 33 year old who likes to sit for longer periods than standing (hint, my job requires me to stand for over 40 hrs a week).

My third trip to Mercy Lounge was a complete flop. My friend was denied entrance to a show, because she had forgotten her I.D. We've never had an issue getting into the 18 and up shows, generally because I am older than her, and even this time and having another older friend, the guard denied her entrance. He was pretty gruff about not letting her enter unless she had a "parent" or her I.D.

Of course, we also witnessed others, with very dissatisfied expressions, leaving the venue as well.

Bar has a nice view, perfect size for a medium/small crowd, and staff were very on point. It can be a little hard to see the artist performing bc the stage isn t that high compared to regular standing but it s still a great venue.

Really solid small venue. Relatively cheap tickets for up and coming bands, comfortable atmosphere that doesn't seem to be overcrowded. Reasonably priced drinks and a solid variety of people.

Saw IAMX at Mercy Lounge in October 2016. Great atmosphere, staff and seevice. The drinks were pretty good, too. The music sounded phenomenal for a venue of it's size. It was as if I were at a Concert Hall. I would definitely, happily go back to see any band I loved or if I were in the area and looking for a great place to chill

Nice place. Good soundsystem and nice patio. Nothing too extravagant but they have good shows here often. You can get veers for 4 or 5 dollars so not as bad as some other places around here where you gotta pay 7 or more.

We purchased our tickets for a concert November 4 th. Doors open at 8 show starts at 9 huge line up and no way to get in before the show starts. Very poor origination. The four of us are all over 55 years old, all have ID, one girls picture ID was expired and they would not let her in. Cited stricken rules, two young girls in front of us used the same ID, security noticed, grinned and allowed them in. The manager didn't seem to care then turned us away. All personnel where very rude.

A classic Nashville venue. It's small and intimate and has great atmosphere. It's hidden up a couple of flights of stairs on Cannery Row above the Cannery Ballroom and you sort of feel like you're getting to see your own private show when you go to a concert here.

The Good: There's not a bad seat/standing area in the house. If you're seeing an artist you love at this place, you won't be disappointed in that regard.

The Bad: They had some issues with feedback and other sound issues at the concert I saw here. Maybe this was just a one time occurrence but it's what is keeping me from giving this place a 5 star rating.

This is one of Nashville's best music spots! The array of talent that plays here is incredible. And the staff is very helpful - if you need anything, just ask security. They will always go out of their way to help everyone have the best night possible.

As many customers have said before the customer service at mercy lounge is almost the worst in town. The staff is untrained and unprofessional, and mixed with the high prices this place is a wash.

From the purchase of the tickets (right price, easy transaction) to a very much appreciated personal touch, the Cannery Ballroom excelled. Having recently had a procedure for a disc problem in my back, the staff reserved a stool for me so I wouldn t have to stand for the entire concert. Eron, the head of security, got my daughter and me in ahead of the crowd, secured the stool and a spot close but near the wall. He could not have been nicer or more hospitable. Thanks to everyone on the staff. I ll seek out acts at Cannery/Mercy first always from here on.

Staff should have been kind about demanding a pass...

Staff should have been kind about demanding a passport in addition to a driver's license from an old Mom on a Tuesday night to see an 18+ show at 7:30pm. The screw you attitude was absolutely shocking. I was treated like a 16 year old busted with a stolen ID at a 21+ event. Despite that, my middle-aged self returned with my new passport as instructed.

What the hell kind of way is that to treat your adult patrons with adult incomes on a weeknight as your market share shrinks by the day? Stop the snark and eye rolls.

Not only that, but I met a lovely underaged girl on the smoking patio who explained how she got herself on the guest list and was never asked to show ID at the door. How did I meet this beautiful young girl? In the middle-aged mom crew I was hanging out with, one of us used to be her babysitter. Pretty cool huh! It was a reunion of children and elders, all drinking together under the same roof. She wasn't old enough to buy cigarettes - so I gave her some of MINE!

There are a myriad of venues in town. If you're grown and you're ready to spend money at the bar, this isn't the place.

They don't consistently card children, but watch out old ladies, they'll make sure to lay down the law on you.

I don't buy the compliance defense. Review your security footage.

About Mercy Lounge / Cannery Ballroom / The High Watt

Mercy Lounge / Cannery Ballroom / The High Watt: Nashville's Premier Music Venues

If you're a music lover, then you know that Nashville is one of the best places in the world to catch live performances. And if you're looking for the ultimate concert experience, look no further than Mercy Lounge, Cannery Ballroom, and The High Watt.

These three venues are all part of the same family-owned business and offer some of the best live music experiences in Nashville. Whether you're into rock, country, indie or any other genre of music, there's something for everyone at these venues.

Mercy Lounge

Located in the heart of Nashville's historic Cannery Row district, Mercy Lounge has been a staple on the city's music scene since it opened its doors in 2003. With a capacity of 500 people and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, this venue is perfect for intimate shows with your favorite artists.

The venue has hosted some big names over the years including Coldplay, Adele and Kings Of Leon. But it also provides a platform for up-and-coming artists to showcase their talents to new audiences.

Cannery Ballroom

Just next door to Mercy Lounge is Cannery Ballroom - another iconic venue that has been hosting concerts since 2005. With a larger capacity than its sister venue (1,000 people), this space offers more room to dance and enjoy your favorite bands.

Cannery Ballroom has also played host to some big names over the years including Jack White and The Black Keys. But like Mercy Lounge it also provides opportunities for emerging artists to perform on its stage.

The High Watt

Last but not least is The High Watt - located upstairs from Mercy Lounge with an intimate capacity of just 250 people. This cozy space offers an up-close-and-personal experience with your favorite musicians that can't be found anywhere else in town.

Despite its smaller size compared to other venues around town like Ryman Auditorium or Bridgestone Arena; The High Watt still manages to attract top-notch talent such as Hozier or Lizzo who have performed here before they became household names.

Why Choose These Venues?

What sets these three venues apart from others around town? For starters they are all independently owned by local entrepreneurs who are passionate about bringing great live music experiences to their community.

In addition they offer state-of-the-art sound systems which ensure that every note played by your favorite artist will be heard loud & clear throughout each venue.

Another reason why these venues stand out is because they host events almost nightly! So whether you want something low-key during weekdays or high-energy weekends filled with concerts; there’s always something happening at one (or all) of these locations.

Finally let’s talk about location: All three venues are located within walking distance from each other making them easy-to-reach destinations when exploring downtown Nashville nightlife scene.

Conclusion:

In conclusion if you’re looking for an unforgettable night out filled with great live music performances then look no further than Mercy Lounge / Cannery Ballroom / The High Watt trio! These locally owned independent businesses provide top-notch entertainment options almost every night while offering unique experiences tailored towards different preferences & tastes – so whether it’s rock n’ roll or country twang – there’s always something happening here!
