Mercure Hotel Launceton Review

Very good cafe and the custom made toast was amazing. Customer service from kelly was exceptional.

I had a fantastic time during my recent stay at the Best Western in Launceston. All facilities and amenities were really clean and staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good location, right by the city park and within a 15 minute walk to the gorgeous waterfront. I also loved my big breakfast at the onsite Tram restaurant which represented great value for money, as did the entire hotel stay.

Great food and service, staff were wonderful. Room was cold and heater barely worked. The room also had a frosted door which meant all the light from the lit walkways outside made the room impossible to get dark. Bathroom had no fan which meant everything was wet by the end of my shower. Recommend not bringing your clothes or phone in with you. But a good room, clean and tidy for the price.

I stayed here for one night, im glad it wasn't more. The rooms have been renovated in recent times so they are clean, tidy, yet small and a little cramped compared to most standard hotel rooms these days.

The bed was comfy, bathroom clean, small, and hardly any space to place a toiletry bag, but for one night it was O-K.

The room i had faced the main road which was noisy!! I had a terrible sleep as the noise of the cars throughout the night kept me awake. The windows are paper thing and old school type windows, and obviously not double glazed so you hear everything outside.

On arrival i was looking for some lunch, but the place doesn't do lunch at the moment, perhaps due to covid or the numbers in the hotel, but breakfast was decent and a few good options on the menu. good coffee and service in the restaurant.
Plenty of options 10min walk away for food as well, but no options for lunch.

Parking is available on site, outdoor parking, but its convenient.

I just found the overall stay was average, noisy room = poor sleep quality.
There are other room options away from the road which i guess if you knew this you could ask to be put in, rather than the noisy front rooms, but perhaps they keep these for high tier members?!

It s a great place, located in the middle of Launcheston city. Great room, great staff, and many car parking available for guests.

It's been two months since we stayed here, despite letting reception know how disappointed I was when checking out and sending two emails to Accor I haven't received a response. We stayed here for two nights not long before Christmas. Unfortunately this hotel fell well below any expectations I could have had for it. The pictures attached tell some of the story. There were many issues with our stay which I made reception aware of and nothing was done (disinterested or didn't have the ability to do anything - I'm not sure). The main points would be, the poor condition of the furniture in the rooms, the amount of dust, lights and hot water that did not work, foxtel also not working, random cables coming out of the carpet and the noise from the road.

The hotel staff advised we had been given an upgrade room, I probably would have been more comfortable with the non-upgraded room.

Another point to note is the hodgepodge carpark setup. There appears to be two hotels operating under the one roof and part of the hotel looks like a circa 1970's motel, while the main section looks like it might have once been an office building. It certainly doesn't feel like any other Accor brand property I've stayed in.

Overall, we did not enjoy our stay and were quite happy to leave. I certainly couldn't consciously recommend staying here to anyone I know. Not worthy of a 4 star rating.

Clean and spacious room, swift check in and good location. You can get to the city walking through the city park, beautiful landscapes including Albert Hall built in the 1800.

Small room but fine for an overnight stay. Bathroom was tiny and had no exhaust fan. However was clean overall and the service was good. Directly opposite a lovely park which has a monkey enclosure!

Great affordable accommodation, friendly staff, clean spacious rooms.
