Great central location. Facilities OK. Rating E for unsatisfactory food! We even went to a take away that had A. Waiter argued and insisted one of our group had ordered something they had not. Noisy at night, over the road from a strip joint. Not recommended.

Good location and hotel. But the room being at level 5 is noisy from the music at the bar nearby.

All other services are great except at valet service. The man returning the car key is very rude and cough at you. Probably bit racist too.

It was great stay but the last impression with the valet before we left the hotel leave things lot to be desired.

(+++) Perfect location - lots of places to go out around
(++) Fancy design interior
(++) Good security concept
(++) you have a pillow menu
(+) well equiped room
(=) friendly staff but a bit stiff - you don't get really the welcoming feeling
(- -) they call their staff "storytellers" > finest corporate b****t
(-) Very noisy room (no noise proof windows or doors) - can be very annoying on a weekend night
(-) Dirty windows

Summary: On the outside nice, but weak on the details

Great location central to the town and close to the harbour. Easy to walk around everywhere and they provide bikes (complimentary) to ride around the city. Rooms are a little small but overall our stay was great.

Very nice hotel! Superb reception with bar. On the top floor the restaurant and a very pleasant bar offer a beautiful view over Auckland and the sea. The breakfast is sumptuous, the choice of food is very varied.
Our room was not very big, but very adequate with a nice shower room.
Very friendly staff.

Really enjoyed our stay when we came up for Matilda. Friendly staff on check in and we were allowed to check in early as a room was available which was thoughtful of the front desk staff. A spare bed was brought in with no worries at all. Very clean room and everything we needed available.

Place designed to make you feel like you're important with a generic high rise view of central Auckland and a consistent level of finish. I saw some alt right dude with all his starts maxed using game on a young woman behind the bar and it seemed effective but also like they were NPCs from some future iteration of GTA running their script.

The hotel is nice, well decorated and modern. The rooms are also modern but somewhat tiny, even the upgraded. The staff is prompt on helping but it lacks resources, very noticeable by the breakfast and internet, both services unstable and very basic. The breakfast for ie when something is short it wont be replaced, even if it just started. On my next visit I'll look for a different option.

Modern hotel in the CBD of Auckland. Excellent location in Queen st, just steps away of Britomart and Silos. Additionally an Innerlink bus and an airport shuttle stops are in front and at the door of the hotel which is very convenient.

Saw better hotels for this price. Nice location in the heart of the city with harbour view. Clean and tidy - pretty new building. Breakfast is rich, however there were some things not being refilled.

Recently stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The room was tiny and there were no giving water, you'll need purchase it yourself.
The room keeper will come anc knock on your door 9am to ask if you want it to be cleaned.. this was the first time ever happened to me.
Also, i got a parking fine from hotel valet and the hotel stopped responding to me and the manager doesnt get back to me after my call.

From reception on entering to reception on leaving our whole experience of the Grand Mercure was well above expectations. All staff were really welcoming, friendly, helpful and went over and above to meet our needs. We will certainly be staying with the Grand Mercure on our next trip to Auckland.

Room and bed was ok. Bathroom was nice enough. Work is pretty much 200 mt away.. Colleague stayed there a year ago (pre Reno) and got bed bugs.. previous reviews from other colleagues who stayed there pre Reno was not great (never stayed their 2 times back).. I am an Accor gold member so thought would try.. rooms and bed seemed ok.. Staff ok.. Very Asian targeted hotel... from decor and style. The service at restaurant both breakfast and dinner pretty below average... super slow and lax service (particularly at dinner).. super disappointing after awesome service and friendly staff in some of the Australian hotels I stay in. For convince to office would stay again.. but not eat in restureant....

Wifi is so incredibly spotty throughout the hotel, it makes it difficult just to write this review, overall rooms were cleaned and well maintained, but in a day of modern age, it is quintessential to have a connection that can support multiple people. Staff was kind and helpful

We enjoyed the 13th floor bar and restaurant and staff were great. Disappointed that we booked several months out but were allocated a room that is usually reserved for last minute bookings. We paid a premium for a room that had a bathroom without any vanity for the usual makeup and bathroom commodities. Any attempt to watch TV before settling to bed for the night was uncomfortable and near impossible with the TV on a wall that was not facing the bed and with only one chair. I had been contacted by AccorHotels just a few days before with a membership offer and this experience did nothing to encourage me to purchase a membership.

We recently stayed at this hotel. For what is supp...

We recently stayed at this hotel. For what is supposed to be a five star property, it felt extremely short of expectations.

When we arrive to check in, we were told we had one king bed. We went up to our room, and the room keys did not work. We went back downstairs, and had to have the keys reissued.

Upon entering our room, we instead had two twin beds, not one king bed.

Also, there was no bathtub. Nothing screams five-star luxury like a 2 x 3 stand up shower.

When we got to the room, we attempted to log into the Wi-Fi and the Wi-Fi was not working. I called down to the front desk and they said that they would send someone out. After 20 minutes, no one arrived. I went down to the front desk to try to get this remedied as I had an email to send for work and they said they would have to call tech-support to hear something was wrong with the Wi-Fi. They said someone would call me within five minutes in my room to help fix this. After 15 minutes, no one had called leaving me to have to go outside to try to find free Wi-Fi.

Again, five-star hotel? Not working Wi-Fi? This seems like a basic amenity for international travelers. upon reading other reviews, other people have mentioned that this is an issue yet I don t see it being resolved which seems reflective of the level of service at this property. As a note, we did not have Wi-Fi for our entire duration. Entirely unacceptable.

About half an hour after entering our room, we had a knock on the door and it was someone from minibar service, who claimed that they had been running behind and they need to check our minibar to see with the last guest had used. Again, this is supposed to be a five-star property. I m not sure why that would not have been checked before the next guest checked in, but we should not have been interrupted with this.

As a note, our hotel room was very small by any standards.

I also noticed that the mattresses do not have mattress protectors on them which seems to be a health and hygiene concern. The response to this post by management claims that they do so I attached a picture confirming indeed, they dont. They also do not have fitted sheets (??) so the sheets kept falling off the bed which is what caused me to notice this in the first place.

They do have a fitness center on the property, however it is extremely small. Well it does have the requisite equipment, for a five-star property I should have room to stretch prior to running. I should need to be stretching out in the hallway because the room is too small.

Lastly, I noticed that they did have guest laundry facilities on property. When we enter the room it appeared to be coin-operated, however again they failed to post any clear instructions regarding the process for utilizing the room? I called downstairs and they said that they charge four dollars to wash, four dollars to dry, and one dollar for laundry detergent. So, nine dollars for a guest to do one load of laundry. That seems excessive and something that they could have thrown in complementary for their guests you are paying five star prices to stay at this to stay at this two star property.

Overall, I would not recommend

4 star hotel of susugano

4 star hotel of susugano
Situated next to Britmart Station, this hotel offers a soothing interior with a comfortable sofa at the entrance.
The staff's response is also kind, polite and pleasant
The size of the room is reasonable, but the interior is very sophisticated, clean and clean
The price is slightly higher, but it's almost in the center of Auckland, so the ferry terminal is near, so access to Devonport is easy, and it's easy to use the railway because Britmart Station is just around the corner
It is the best location as a tourist base

overall the accommodation was good, trying to get the reception from the hotel room was to say the least terrible. Did not answer the phones and giving out incorrect information. Asked for additional pillows and received them with out pillow slips!! No printer in the business centre had to ask for the reception to print off but they kept giving out the incorrect email address hence the important documents for my meeting could not be printed until the next day

Well presented room, and I liked the fact that there was USB ports throughout the room, and a quality TV (although a shame that casting Netflix from phone to TV was disabled).

It was a shame to only have 1 bar of WIFI signal throughout the whole room, which is unusable. It is a shame that the hotel can't put a few more hotspots in to provide good signal.

Also the Bedding looked good on initial presentation, but the sheet on the mattress wasn't actually properly on the mattress, so I had to remake the bed before I could sleep in it.

Usually when in Auckland I stay at the Pullman nearby at the top of the hill, however it was full so stayed at the Grand Mercure for 3 nights in December 2017. First of all the positives, the location is great for the heart of Auckland and the waterfront, the ferry terminal is close by and there is plenty to see and do. Rooms were clean, if a bit poky and the bathroom was modern with a great shower.

The room I stayed in had twin beds which were a bit on the small side, the sheets did not fit properly so by the morning had all come untucked - rather annoying. There was a lot of loud music outside until 4am on the Friday and Saturday nights - not the hotel's fault but worth knowing if you want to get a good nights rest.

The breakfast room on the top floor has great views across the waterfront and city but struggles to cope with the number of people using it, and was woefully understaffed on the Sunday, after being shown to a table it was 25 minutes before it was cleaned and laid up despite asking three times, there were no cups or plates and various food items had run out. The coffee machine is over complicated leading to a huge queue which is frustrating if all one wants is some hot water to make tea.

Perhaps if I had stayed at a quieter time I would have given the hotel four stars but with the experience I had I won't be rushing back.

I had a really good experience staying with Mercure. Had a hard time finding the entrance as there were renovations going on and the only sign I saw was a Mercure carpark sign not a guest entrance sign. But other than that my stay was pleasant, comfortable and convenient as it was near all the shops, restaurants and work.

Great location, friendly, helpful staff, hotel amenities and a clean modern room were the highlights. Poor wi-fi reception, construction debris and noise on our floor and in the lobby were the lows.

My wife and I stayed for 11 days and consequently had quite a lot of baggage. The lack of storage in the room meant we had to lay our bags on the floor and leave most of our clothes packed. A little drawer space would have been helpful.

Our stay was fantastic. Great room and amazing sky bar. Only slight issue was the work going on from 8.45 with builders making a lot of noise. I guess this is the cost of staying in a brand new refurbished hotel. Also you could smell the new silicone in the room which could have been mistaken for the smell of cigarette smoke.
Would definately stay again, the views of the city were amazing. The bar man in Attica was very friendly, and his espresso martinis were awesome!

We enjoyed our mystery night stay at the Mercure Hotel in Auckland City. The location was excellent with access to services, and shops.
Our room was adequate, not plush by any means, but warm with everything in working order, with a window that opened, and a great city view.
The view from the restaurant was awesome, loved the music that was in the background, staff were attentive, and generous, the food was superb with a fab buffet breakfast in the morning.
Thank you, we will be back!

A late flight arriving at around 2:30am only to be served by trainees. Whilst training is important it is so CRITICAL that this does not dramatically impact the service. Checkin in took more than 15mins for what should have only taken 2mins at that hour. The room was nice but the noise outside the room at around 6am was not!
As a frequent business traveller, placed on level 2 was a significant disappointment. A colleague from overseas had level 9 & no loyalty!
