Best vball league in the twin cities! The staff is super awesome, we always have a great time here.
Great alley, good food. Pro shop on site - Dave is awesome (bought a ball that ACTUALLY feels right after all my years with previous ball); high recommend.
Bowling, bands, Battle Star Galactica. Ok, no battle Battle Star but the rest is quite real was a great time. Bar is chill and has a patio. Food is good.
If the dude lived in Minneapolis this is the bowling alley he would frequent
we had a company event here in May '18. the staff did a great job, food was great, bowling was a blast for people of all ages.
This place isn't retro so much as the decor just hasn't changed since the 70s. Charming without being pretentious. Good food and an excellent beer selection, plus the bowling prices are super affordable.
My party had a awesome time in a great establishment.
I attended Fruit Bowl here. It was a great time for everyone in my group.
A fairly typical American bowling alley experience. Prices are reasonable, and they have good drink and greasy food options. Best thing about this place is that they can add bumpers for individual bowlers, instead of just everyone in the game.
Great service, convenient prices and my waitress- Lynnette Pope- was absolutely wonderful!
It's a very nice bowling alley with a nice bar good food live music on the weekends and volleyball and I am certain that they have trivia but otherwise it's a good place to go watch the game and have a couple cold ones and bowl a couple Lanes
Only been here for the beach volleyball, but good French Toast (and food in general), good beer selection, and good Sand Volleyball courts.
In addition to great lanes & comfy shoes Memory Lanes has live music frequently. The bands don't play in a room, but right on the lanes. Bowling to live punk music on Mondays is something truly Wonderful. I also have been a regular attendee to the annual music festival called "Mock the Garden" which is a day dedicated to local punk rock and has become a staple in my summer plans for the past few years. Make sure to check Memory Lanes out for epic music and a fantastic bowling experience. The live music is also very well organized and great bands play regularly. Do yourself a favor and have some fun at Memory Lanes.
Great place to stop and have a beer, friendly people and a pretty good beer selection
Great for leagues or just a night out bowling. Food is pretty good too!
Staff was terrible. On a pretty light night (many open lanes), they cut us off halfway through our third game, claiming we didn't pay for four people even though we explicitly stated we had a fourth person coming. I debated it with him and eventually just asked how much it would cost to finish the game we were on, and he wanted to charge us $30 to finish the game. No way. I'll never go here again. Total disappointment. There are much better bowling alleys further out from the cities worth going to over this place. Not recommended.
Terrible experience. We got told one thing on the phone before we visited this bowling alley and got told another when we got there. They reserved our lanes wrong, extremely overpriced and they wouldn't accommodate what we were told on the phone from an employee. Will not be going back here ever!! Extremely rude and disappointing!
We had a very fun night of bowling, eating, and drinks at memory lanes. The food was delicious and the portions seemed larger than expected! Our waitress, Erin, was awesome and the main reason we plan to return often! I hope she is a trainer as she is what you want in a waitress! Thanks Erin and the rest of the staff at Memory Lanes! A+
awesome bowling alley, questionable mgmt. wish they had a good cheap american lager on tap like pbr or mn brew grain belt premium
Clean environment and friendly service the whole night. Lanes were extra greasy. I even Managed to get a turkey. Food looked good and drinks were strong
All you mpls punx should check out punk bowling night.
My favorite bowling alley in town. That's not to say I've been to all of them, but it's a cool spot. They share ownership with Elsie's in NE, which is also a great place. I like Memory Lanes because it's huge, they have live shows on weekends occasionally, and it's reasonably priced. They also have a beach volleyball league during the summer if I remember correctly.
I had so much fun. They have food, awesome service.
The beef short ribs tasted freezer burn or been in the refrigerator too long I prefer fresh beef short ribs I understand you probably don't cook them on a daily basis.
Great service and reasonable prices. I like that they aren't always super busy.
Nothing too fancy. Pretty much what you want in a bowling alley.
The best bowling in Minneapolis. Full food and beverage service on the lanes. Reasonable prices. Pulltabs available. Lots of decent TVs on the lanes with all the sports channels. Quick, attentive service for any mechanical or computer issues with the lanes. Good deals for shoe rental and unlimited bowling. Generally a fun crowd at night but everyone's respectful of the bowling.
Drag bowling was amazing! Waitress was very nice and big portions for the apps. A little pricey for the food quality but overall a fun time.
Never and issue finding a lane. Lanes could be better oiled. Ball returner has chewed up a ball or two that the pro shop has needed to repair but was told it would take a week to do.
Never will go back again. Some lady that didn t work there cussed me out for not wearing a mask while I was ordering from the bar & the bartender didn t say anything to her. Terrible experience & customer service. Spend your money else where! Server in the alleys was alright
Memory Lanes is a great establishment. They have more than 20 bowling lanes that are clean and well maintained. They have a pretty robust menu of bar food and pizzas. Full bar with plenty of tap, can, and bottled beer, full liquor options, and wine. Staff is friendly and efficient. The walls are lined with vintage movie and rock star photographs. Each summer they host a two day block party in their parking lot with live music and drinks. During summer they also host sand volleyball on courts they ve installed in the parking lot.
Fun trivia nights and bowling. Good food and beer selection.
Came with a couple friends first we sat in the tables by the bar while we waited for our lane and it took a while for someone to finally notice us we had to go to the bar and serve ourselves. Then we finally got our lane everything was good with that until it got stuck mid game. They fixed it then we asked for another round and they made it for one person and we were four, but they offered a discount for the confusion so it was ok. We had ordered food while we were playing. At our last game we ordered a box to go for our left over food and our waitress threw the box at the table from behind while she was talking to the people behind us who apparently were her friends. It was really rude the way she threw the box it scared my friend who wasn t even looking that way. She did go and complain about that and the person she spoke to said they will put a complain on her. The most rude part of all was when we were leaving, we decide to go get a shot at the bar and we sat at the table and while we were sitting the same server hadn t seen us and she was walking toward the bartender saying she got her first complaint, then she was telling the whole story about the box in a bitchin type of way and she said that it was us right there, so she definitely saw us, she pointed us out that even the bartender looked at us. Idk if she thought we couldn t hear her since we were just a couple feet away or she thought we didn t understand her since we all had a latino look. Idk, but I felt that it was very rude and racist to do that in front of us. Most employees when they talk about customer in any place they at least they talk somewhere where they can t be heard. I m pretty sure the law of customer service is customers are always right we had no reason to lie about the box. We were enjoying ourselves despite the inconvenience. Those stars are just because of that employee.
Memory Lanes is great but I took a tinder date here once and she was not trying to let me get a kiss afterwards so I have no other option but to blame the establishment.
The bowling was super fun. However Lane 29 that i was on. The ball kept getting stuck or something behind the pins and would either take a long time to return or not at all. So we would have to get another ball, and maybe it would return some of the other balls. We got pizza and drinks and those were good. The seasoning for the pizza was a bit odd, but over all good. The alchohol drinks are good, made a bit strong for my liking but still great!.
Came for the beer and air hockey. Stayed for the awesome staff and tunes.
Don t plan to come here unless you have a lot of time on you hands. Their estimate of wait times is unrealistically wrong. If they say it s a 20 min wait, multiply that number by 4 or more.
Love bowling here, even if the lanes breakdown sometimes, there is always someone there to fix them. And they have a great list of taps and cans!
bowling kind of expensive $6.50 per person to bowl
I've never been so close to quitting and walking out of a game of bowling. The number and frequency of technical errors that ground our enjoyment to a halt were totally unacceptable, especially considering the steep prices charged. At least the music was decent, saving them a star. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere.
We had to reset our pins pretty often because it kept setting them up incorrectly.
The screen animations weren't very fun, just static stock photos of people's faces.
The nacho plate was generously loaded.
The location is quite good, people from both the east metro and west metro were able to get to it without too much trouble.
Always fun on the weekend with black light bowling!
The staff is very friendly, the balls and shoes are a bit worn out. But good price and nice people
They got almost everything there, Alcohol, drink, food etc. Plus the staff there is pretty friendly
Fun atmosphere, attentive staff and servers. Bowling was way to much fun and meeting new friends is always a plus! My new little favorite spot to hang out every now and then and I will be back!
Poor customer service from the manager & the red head waitress...the kitchen closes at 12am and. We had 10mins to spare after we paid. For our games...the waitress was rude and would not serve us and neither would the manager.
Fun time bowling but a bit crowded. When I went to eat it was good food but are server was kind of slow. The thing that was the worst was the front desk seemed like they were ticked off and tense.
Not what it used to be when it was Stardust least you can still bowl there
Awesome customer service.I love the guy who greets you at the door
I remember coming here when I was younger..they actually need to relaunch and advertise themselves to get people back interested in bowling again..Its truly been missed
All around it was a good place to bowl, and okay, but uncomfortable atmosphere. I only rated a 1, because the old man who rings people in is has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We had 1 college and 1 results price which I told him. I then handed him my I.D and he THREW it back at me, and yelled you know show me this right away so I can do my job right . I was so baffled. This was my most recent experience with him, and he is like this with each and every person. It really brings a negative attitude to the whole place, and experience.
Ive actually been to memory lanes more to eat than to bowl. Fun, well kept place. I was stranded here one time after getting caught in a hail storm on my bike and it was one of the best times.
Been going to this bowling alley for 13 years, it hasn't changed much but the lanes work very well and they have flat screen TVs. The one thing it needs is a system where you can change the bowling screen background and stlye because the classic/retro style is pretty lame and hasn't changed for a fews years.
Edit 2021 prices are very high now. $5.50 per game, $35 for the lane for an hour. Isn't posted any where on their websites probably because of the costs.
They keep the lanes well taken care of and oiled. Game costs and beer is reasonably priced
Employees did a great making an unfortunate situation right
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and a nice bowling alley. Great place to watch the game, they really get into the spirit.
Had a lot of trouble with Lane 5. Spoke to them at least 4 times about it. Pins not setting correctly. Not saving frames correctly. Ball disappearing. The frames disappearing. Games ending suddenly. Four times we spoke to them about it. No accommodations made for us. Even asked simply for a free game and the woman behind the counter on her phone did nothing. We just continued on with our games and tried to have a good time. Would not recommend. Bummer.
