My husband was transported via EMS to Memorial for a possible heart attack. On arrival, they felt he clearly needed to get a heart cath and be transferred to a bigger hospital. He was on an ER cot waiting for transport for nearly 24 hours because they felt he was stable. In fact, two different times they took all monitoring off him (telemetry and blood pressure etc) leaving him completely unchecked. He had a second incident around 2a the next morning before he was finally transported to OSU East. On arrival at OSU East, they asked why all the requisite testing was not done before he was transferred. I don't know what was supposed to have been done, but I will not ever have my husband or anyone else sent to Memorial if all they are is a triage station before transferring to a bigger hospital. I thought they partnered with OSU? It's unacceptable. My husband ultimately had to have bypass surgery and nearly died! But oh, he was stable, therefore he didn't need urgent care or transport.
Thank you for the wonderful care you gave my wife, Deloris. She was in very bad shape when we got her in. She left 2 days later with a finality to many of her issues. Right now she is doing better than she has in a long time. Your analysis of her was precise and timely.
Also , thanks to the nurses who kept me in the loop the whole time my wife was there. They took all the time needed to field my questions and concerns. I did not like not being able to see my wife during that time, but the care and concern the nurses took with me was a wonderful consolation.
Please keep up the good work!
This is regarding the Memorial health refill line, several times my wife has called in about prescription refills. She has gone without medicine for her diabetes because they didn't get refilled. Medicines should be filled in a timely manner but seems to be out of their range of ability. This needs to be addressed.
Went in with severe abdominal and back pain. I was provided pain medication medication immediately and unfortunately it provided no relief. I said he was done and I was told that it showed no significant findings and even though he was still in the same amount of pain and could barely walk out the door to leave they were not willing to look any further. Later that day when I pulled up the MyChart app and looked at the CT report it s stated that there was a growth on my right kidney that was stable from 2017 the problem is I have never had a growth on my right kidney. I have a history of kidney stones and there are multiple CT s on record from that hospital that clearly show I have never had any stones masses lesions or any issues with my right kidney. When I called back to ask them about this I was refused any clarification. The only solution I was offered was to come back in and be seen again. If there was in fact a growth on my right kidney that would explain the extreme pain that I was having. The ER doctor told me that I was probably just suffering from a case of viral gastritis. I had told him I ve had gastritis and this was not it the pain was way too severe and he made me feel like I was a crybaby who had come in for a bellyache. As of right now I am left wondering all weekend if I have a growth on my kidney and still in extreme pain. I either have to go to Columbus and go through all the same stuff or go back to Memorial and deal with an attentive staff who have treated me poorly..
This is one of the very best hospitals I have ever been in. The receptionist, Cindy, is the most accommodating lady.. with few exceptions, the Drs and nurses are awesome.
Currently going through early labor, went there 3 different times to try to get answers as to what was going on & all of those times they told me "there was nothing they could do" as I was having complications with my pregnancy the past 5 days - didn't even want to evaluate me to make sure everything was okay. Tried to even call for advice at their ob office & got a COMPLETELY rude nurse when i was just asking if i should just come in.. Definitely not having my kid here, the staff made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcomed, why treat a woman who is going into labor that way?
I went to the ER with severe lower back pain that extended down both of my legs. I had a previous back surgery in 2003 and have been in pain the last 4 yrs. Ion Skinner, DO simply told me that there was nothing he could do. Horrible experience and it really felt like he was looking down at me. Like I didn't deserve help.
My son had dental surgery and everyone was so nice and helpful from the moment we walked in. The nurses were great with him and the anesthesiologist explained everything to him in ways that he would understand. They made sure he wasn t scared and talked him through everything. They made sure he was comfortable and the entire time. Before surgery they gave him an iPad and warm blanket to keep him occupied until they took him back and afterward they made sure he had anything he could possibly need to be comfortable. I waited in the private room until he was finished and the nurses even checked on me a few times. It was a very pleasant experience and I am more than happy with the care we received!
Wonderful staff. My only complaint is that there doesn't seem to be GI consult available on weekends, resulting in transfer to a Columbus hospital.
