Megaplex Theatres Review

I had the worst experience at Jordan Commons that I've probably ever had going to a movie. I purchased tickets early in the afternoon to ensure we got tickets and an aisle seat (because I'm pregnant). We arrived early to eat and get snacks, it took 25 minutes after ordering to get the food which was not good. When we sat down, we got kicked out of our seats because we unknowingly were in the wrong movie. After contacting management there was nothing they could do... Other than offer us tickets to another showing. I think this is unacceptable... We spent $30 on concessions and planned our entire evening around this movie. Customer service was awful. The manager would not do anything to help accommodate us and I felt she was mocking me. Now I have ticket vouchers to a theater I never want to return to again. I'm extremely disappointed. This was their mistake and nothing was done to make it right.

Still a nice place to see a movie. Clean restrooms and a bunch of food and snack choices. Free parking.

One of my favorite theaters in the Salt Lake area. I love the food choices and the IMAX theater. It's clean and has good parking structures next to it.

Whoa - it's like a small town inside a movie theater. Very neat interior design. Two parking structures on either side.

Super long lines to get popcorn and the seats were terrible. Packed in like a bus. Won't be coming back to this theater.

Clean theaters, new seats, great picture and audio and a fun atmosphere lend to a very enjoyable movie experience. Reserved seating has changed the experience so much. I cringe about thinking of trying to find a seat in a dark theater like it was the dark days.

No recliners and if u get one it costs 20 a seat.... go to regal cinemas. Far better all theaters have recliners.

I hate this place it took out the Mayan resteraunt I once enjoyed. now all that's left of the Mayan resteraunt is tucanos which is a subsidiary of the Mayan resteraunt. I swear there is hidden tunnels under the megaplex still located here that have to do with the Mayan resteraunt.

The theming inside makes the atmosphere really fun. Clean and well kept.

Clean theaters, and good location. Love to see IMAX 3D movies here.

Plentiful parking, clean, comfortable theater. Not a bad seat in the house. Restrooms are well maintained. And we saw the Greatest Showman so it was an excellent movie!

Very nice people especially Sherry Tesorieri she was very helpful and courteous. She was helpful and fast at her job

Plenty of theaters, so lots of movies to choose from. We went on Thirsty Thursday; all fountain drinks are $1! That saves a ton of money. Plenty of treats and snacks, including Cold Stone. Seats are reserved.

I Love Megaplex Theatres Been Ten years sent Been there I love seat

It was a ghost town, which is understandable in the circumstances, but one would think the employees might be just slightly friendly towards the few customers they do have. Instead, everyone I encountered made me feel as though I was a bother interrupting their socializing.

Saw the movie with my oldest great grandson. Loved the Thor movie.

Awesome theater. Nice seats, cool atmosphere and awesome sound. If you go during the day on Tuesdays you can see a movie for $5. That is neat.

Love going here. General theater seating is adequate but no recliner or ample food area. If you go iMax or VIP theater you'll have both those options. Great environment and fun building. Subpar restaurant options.

Any megaplex are the best place to see a movie in Utah. I particularly enjoy the layout of Jordan Commons. It reminds me of the old 49th Street Galleria with it's fake building facades.

Went, with my husband, and my sweet grandson Lincoln for the premier of the movie Abominable!!, I won ticket's from contest I entered on fox 13, it was an absolute darling movie all the way through, our grandson told us he was tired and might fall asleep but the movie held his interest he watched the movie, he was really into it ,was a really good boy, for a 5 year old, thank you Rich Bonaduce from fox 13 !!

Love that you can get some Coldstone ice cream and take it into the theatre also well as many other options. By far my favorite movie theatre!

The place is clean a variety of movies with good quality seats

Good parking but then again I usually don't go during crowded times. Good selection of food. Cool new soft drink dispensers. Needs more recliner chairs.

It's a nice theater and the chairs are comfortable. It would be nice if they had more candy and snack options, it seems like they always have a limited variety. The popcorn is really good, though.

I like the Jordan commons a lot the theaters are clean. The lobby has an excellent ambience. Staff has always been very helpful and they have good options. While I prefer recliner theaters I am always more then happy to go to a movie here

Love the section of food you can choose from and bring into the theater.

We come here because with so many theaters, there is often the right show at the right time. However, the complex is starting to show its age, and with the exception of its high-priced VIP Theater, and a few seats in the IMax, they are not keeping up with the trend toward recliners and Lux seating. It is kind-of our last choice now days. Parking is usually tough, restaurants in the area are not generally great, so unless your movie is not available elsewhere, you might want to stay away.

We went there to see a sneak preview while we've been there many times for sneak previews because our mortgage company treats is very well.
I like their new soda pop machines and their popcorn is superb

This is a large Cinema complex in Sandy. They have 20 cinemas and an iMax theater. The theme inside is like a small town with plenty of lights as well as a wide selection of snack food items. The cinemas offer great picture quality, clear sound and comfortable seats though I do find the toilet locations far off. Parking is at a two-level building which requires you to walk a little.

The theater is always really clean and the staff is very helpful. Great place to watch some movies.

Got discount tickets to see The Force Awakens and it was fantastic! The seats were very comfortable and the sound was amazing! The theater almost had like a food court inside, which was pretty cool.

If you like 40 minutes of commercials after the designated movie start time, this is your theater.

The theater was clean, movie was great. BUT none of the theater staff knew what was going on. I asked 3 different people the same question and got 3 different answers. Also the line for getting concessions was super slow. I was in line with 10 people for over 20 minutes.

I love the atmosphere of this theater. They have lots of food options and the theaters are very clean. I just wish they would have one of those fancy Coke machines where you can add flavor to your drink. They have one at the Valley Fair Megaplex!

Good place to spend whit family and friends, staff are good, the only thing is chairs are a little too close and people are really near other than that its an ok place.

I started off being very frustrated having technical difficulties with purchasing my tickets. After Calling Mike at the Megaplex Store customer service I felt a ton better! He waited with me on the phone while walking me through trying to purchase them and went to the extent to call the manager at the junction and have her print the tickets and put at will call for me with a free popcorn for my troubles! He also helped me get my rewards account set up so I hopefully won't have the issue again. Mike was fantastic to work with! My friend and I had an fantastic time! Even with the hour and a half drive home through the snow.

Built in downtown Sandy, this modern theater built in 1999 features 20 theater and an IMAX theater. The interior atmosphere is very unique for the Salt Lake Valley with an indoor city aesthetic. This theater receives a three-star review because the management of theater.
Once being the flagship theater of the Megaplex complex it has appeared it has slipped into minor mismanagement (noting the close of several adjacent restaurants in the development). The theater's interior used to be praised for its style, but it now appears they have lost the care to upkeep it.

Quick Example: Lighting in the environment has been replace with ceiling flood lights, they are intensely harsh and disrupt the atmosphere.

Best theater around. Tons of food options and tons of noon stress parking! The assian salad is one of my favorite ever salads.

This movie theater has plenty of food options to choose from and parking is a breeze. The luxury seating is my favorite and the IMAX is always awesome. This theater is always busy though so you may miss out on getting the best seats if you aren't quick enough when reserving your seats.

The IMAX luxury seats were awesome! The lines for the concessions were out of control though. Crazy long wait for anything. Don't know exactly what the deal was.

Clean facility and restrooms, fantastic theaters, and a super friendly staff. This is a great place to go see a movie, especially in the luxury seating. Lots of yummy places to eat nearby and plenty of parking.

I think this place needs a remodel but it's a great theater. Friendly staff, great concessions, always a good time.

Purchasing tickets online requires an additional fee. Therefore, if you aree trying to go to a matinee, you will still pay around $8-$9 per ticket. Fandango tickets will be a little bit more than going through the Megaplex Theatres website. You will also be required to choose your seat when purchasing the ticket. Parking was easy because there is a parking garage. The movie theatre had a fun theme inside but the layout is a little confusing. The seats of were pretty bad - they do not recline and feel a bit hard. Sitting on the upper section forces you to look down at the screen. It might be better to sit on the first rows of the the top section or in the top rows of the bottom section. Lastly, the popcorn was already bagged, meaning that it isn't fresh. The bag I had was also about 1/4 of very small pieces. Overall, I would go to a different theatre in the future.

Great picture and sound... Lots of snack bars, so when one was busy, it was was easy to go to another one and get popcorn and drinks quickly.

Was my first visit to this theater, nice place. Laid out well, typical spendy consessions. Seats were normal and a good selection of movies to choose from.

Not as nice as others in the area,that are the same price and have replaced all their seats with recliners!!! Such as century 16

Seemed like a cool little place to watch a movie. Little Bummed about the restaurants around here and the dated move chairs. Seemed like it was probably big back 10 years ago. Still a good experience

By far has been one of the best theaters in the area for the longest.

Luxury seats in the front rows are only $11 and make the movie more enjoyable.

The theaters are really nice and the food there is really good. Although everything costs a lot it s still a really good place But in all seriousness, this place is really nice.

This theatre is extremely large and is a fun experience. Make sure you get here extra early because the concession lines can get pretty long and they are not open at the end of the halls. Make sure you avoid the front row of the IMAX, the seats worked but even the second row would have been a much better view.

I did enjoy the comfort and declining of the chairs.

Very fun to go to and watch some of the newest releases. The facility and rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and they seem to do well at their jobs, especially the custodians. Though it s a little bit pricy, it s not that bad. They recently installed reclining seats in some of the theatre rooms, so that s a plus! Would recommend going here, especially with the Tuesday night deal.

Fun atmosphere and they always give local films screen time which is awesome! Concessions are yummy and refill mugs and tubs are a must if you are a frequent moviegoer! Staff is friendly and everything is kept clean.

This is such a great movie theater and the imax is incredible!

Eh, it's ok. Larry H. Miller ain't my favorite dead multi-millionaire, but the theaters are mostly what you expect.

Expect R rated movies to not be played (depending on how hard that R is) and the concessions are way over priced. You'll probably pay more for popcorn and 2 drinks than for the tickets (but that's standard for movie theaters these days)

Pre-show commercials are completely out of control here. Used to be a few before the previews. Then it was before and after the previews. Now there is a commercial ad between each and every preview. And before. And after.

Great place to see amovie. The overall experience is great. Lots of different food choices, snacks or whole meals.

The D-box seats are really fun, but they aren't the most comfortable seats.

Went during $5 Tuesday on a big opening week for a popular movie. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed, and everything was very dirty. I understand things happen when there are large crowds, but they seemed very understaffed. I would have thought they would bring on more people for an anticipated busy night. Very long lines everywhere for concessions, and no one was even standing in the hallway to check our tickets when we entered the hallway!
With that being said, the look and feel is definitely a plus, and the seats are comfortable. I noticed that there were sponsor labels in the women's bathroom adhered to the mirrors that were peeling off. Definitely could use some TLC in some places, but still a fun place to be. Employees were friendly despite being overwhelmed. Only reason I'm not giving 3 stars or less.

A little dated. It is expensive for what they offer. Those chairs remind me of the trax seats lol. Ill rather spent some gas to go to a cine marks in jordan landing for the huge cuddly seats

Food has gone downhill in the last month or so.

I would be giving this theater 5 stars but the menu has changed in roughly the last two months. The options left are less than great. I am almost positive the chicken fingers made my wife and I sick . Its a real bummer, I've always liked this theater.

Update: food still sucks months later.

This is a great theater. It has lots of options for eating and snacking. The seating is tall enough that you are never watching heads. If you like corndogs, they are worth the extra here.

Watched the Crimes of Grindelwald, the movie had a terrible ending. 3 stars, get a better movie
