I had purchased full body laser treatment, which at the time was a lifetime guarantee, I spent 3500 in total and paid it off. I also referred my two sisters, who also paid in full. They than referred over 10 other ladies, consisting of in laws and friends, in conclusion they made a ton of money and are know saying we are no longer able to finish our treatments due to new ownership! I was never informed or notified of any of these changes and was never informed that our contract for the service would be terminated. I am really upset and hope anyone else who had this happen to them would leave a review.

HOSPITALIZED FOR BURNS!!! Issue #1: (Inexperienced nurses) I had the worst experience at this place. The nurse burned my entire body with the machine. I had to go straight to the hospital. I could not even wear my clothes due to how bad the burns were. I asked the nurse to turn down the machine and she told me she did but it seemed like the laser was still very hot and was burning my skin. Currently both my arms and my left thigh and bikini area is fully burnt. They seem to hire nurses that are not experienced.

Issue #2: (Fraudulent contracts and promotions) DO NOT sign up for the lifetime plan. It s the biggest Rip off! When I wanted to start my laser treatment at the time, they told me to sign up for the lifetime full body plan to save money. I paid $4000 upfront for the lifetime plan. After a couple of years, they called me and told me that I am no longer welcome because they have changed their owners and have new policies. I asked them to give me a copy of my contract and they told me they have lost it. They tried the same exact thing with my friends and family members.
They do not give you appointments if you pay upfront and they mess up with their scheduling. I was there 2 days ago for my appointment. They made me wait in the waiting room for an hour and made me come back in two days. I ended up waiting in the waiting room for another hour again until they fully burned my skin.
I spoke to my friends that also go there, they mentioned that the nurse had told them that the old machine has been malfunctioning and burning people. They still seem to not care and still use the machine on patients.
Same as the other stories you are reading.....I paid for lifetime, my treatment was moved from every 3 months to 6 months. Now they won't honor the contract I signed. I called to make an appointment, the person I spoke to said "we are no longer honoring the contract you signed, it's not cost effective for our company anymore" ummmm, hello, I paid my lifetime treatment in full and now you aren't honoring what was put in writing. Who wouldn't be upset, bad business model.
This place is a total SCAM!!! I've been going here for 3 years now and all they do is give me the run around. I paid for the full body lifetime plan like many others but since session three I have told them that their lasers don't work because my hair hasn't fallen out. They kept telling me that I should just keep coming back because it would eventually work. But after 3 years and over 14 sessions I'm in worst shape then when I started. They stimulated the hairs on my neck and shoulders because they made the mistake of using the lasers on those areas when they shouldn't have done so. And now I have thick black hairs in those areas but they refuse to do anything about it. They have my money so they are ignoring me and keep telling me that I should just wait until the hairs calm down. Well I have waited for over a year now and they won't do anything to fix it. I had an appointment with Shonda, for an evaluation and waited for over an hour to speak to her about the issue but she never showed up. I ended up leaving with speaking with her and they never contacted me to apologize. They are extremely rude and lack any type of customer service etiquette. Their lasers are old and don't work but they always say that they have "just" updated them. So how come the girls that work at this place keep saying that the lasers are broken and they don't work.
If you have had a similar experience to mine then please respond to this review. After reading many of the reviews it seems obvious that I am not the only one with this type of experience. I am planning on filing a lawsuit against this company and will be contacting the California Medical Board to file a claim too.
So I have heard in the past about bad reviews for med weight laser. I personally have never had an issue with them. I signed up for the lifetime laser hair removal three years ago (when that was still an option under the old regime) and it is still in effect. I follow the prescribed treatment plans but up front I was told that laser hair removal does not guarantee no more hair. I even looked this up online and that is generally how it goes since our bodies/hormones change over time. With that said 90% of hair in treated areas is gone. What little remains is super thin and sparse. I do not shave shave anymore. I heard that shaving while in process of treatment can affect hair growth although I cannot verify that. I am of Sicilian descent so I have darker hair that was prone to in-grown hairs. If I do not exfoliate I still get some problem follicles but when I do I generally do not have any issues.
Customer Service has never been a problem. The one time I accidentally missed an appointment (my fault not theirs) they did not charge me the fee. If you consistently miss without calling 24 hours in advance they will but this was the first time in the years I had been going that had happened and they waived the fee. Never been burned, never had something go wrong. I would recommend them.
Dont be fooled by the good reviews about this place as most of them will be from prior to the ownership change. It seems as though the new owners only care about money. Or at least that is how I was treated despite the fact that I ve been going there for the past 5 years or so.
I had purchased a lifetime contract from this company under the previous ownership. Once the ownership changed, they decided to cut down my sessions from every 3 months to every 6 months (despite the fact that every 3 months was the recommended care plan laid out in the contract until you reach a certain session #) without even bothering to notify me. I called and after bringing up the contract, they decided to let me stay on the care plan I had SIGNED to be on. But, I was still grateful that they were willing to work with me.
Fast forward, I visit for the last session of what I thought was going to be the end of my 3-months-apart sessions and the beginning of 6-months-apart sessions. Little did I know that the front desk staff would stop me, prior to me walking out, AFTER my session to tell me This is your last session. We are not honoring the lifetime plans anymore. Next session you want to come, you re gonna have to pay *as she hands me a pricing sheet* Well that s a fantastic way to treat someone who s paid to come here in exchange for a service. What kind of customer service is this? Not to mention, once again they did not bother to even notify the people who would be affected by this. I had to find out on my way OUT. You mean to tell me I receive all of your promotional emails, yet I couldn t receive a simple notification for something like this.
The sad part is if it wasn t for a)lack of customer service and professionalism b)an absolute disregard for the patients that have been coming there for years, I would have had no problem paying to continue to go to these sessions. The nurses here (Especially Alma) are fantastic and this review has absolutely nothing to do with them or their work. However, after being treated like a freeloader (despite paying thousands of dollars), I would rather not give another dime to this company and take my business elsewhere. I would recommend you also look into other places. There are so many good options around nowadays. Do your research. A business who doesn t care about their customers and contracts is not a business worth your time and money.
Beware, I think this place is going out of business soon.
So I, plus my referrals, have given over $7000 to this place. I have been on a laser treatment plan of 6-8 weeks for the past 4 years because of my hair growth is stubborn. A few months ago I was switched over a to 6 month plan without a conversation. When I went into my consultation appointment about the treatment plan the laser specialist said "I do recommend more treatments for you". I asked if that was her professional opinion and she said yes. I pointed to the contract that specifically outlines that the treatment plan can change at the prescription of the laser specialist. She acknowledges that's what the contract said and acknowledges that she, as a professional, recommends that the 6 month treatment plan is not working. However, she then said that she needs to make sure her staff is paid so she can't "give freebies" (Strange since I already paid...? It's not free if I paid for it). I asked if she will honor the contract and she said yes, but proceeded to refuse following the contract even though she acknowledges that the treatment plan given to me was not effective.
In my experience, when a business no longer follows the contract they agreed to, they will be going out of business soon.
I have already paid a lot of money into this organization, but it may not be stable enough for newer people.
Hello, my wife and I were referred to this place by my cousin whose wife bought the lifetime plan. Having done laser in the past I knew what to expect. Having already spent well over what three lifetime prices was in the past their lifetime price was very reasonable and had 0% interest financing which was great! I opted for the full body and my wife only wanted bikini and underarms. I had been getting laser at first on my neck area due to lots of ingrowns on the front of my neck and was treated effectively in Huntington Beach but they started off too soft at first and took more session (extra money for them of course) Then I wanted to try a different place and found a good deal at a place in La Habra and they treated the front and the back of my neck. At first it was going well but then the hair on the upper back and back of the neck started coming in darker as if it was stimulated to grow. Each session would remove it all but then it would grow back. I was afraid they were doing something wrong (but it was just my vigorous hair growth cycle) so that's when I started coming to Med Weight and Laser. It took a few sessions but finally my hair on my back started to not be stimulated and no longer have hair growing on my back which is a big relief. The hair that does grow is lighter and fine and turns blonde during the summer anyways. Overall I can say we got a great price, never had trouble scheduling, the burnt skin is a side effect of the laser but needs no extra medical attention because it usually subsides by the next day or after that and usually the higher the lever on the laser machine the better results so maybe that lady that went to the hospital for treatment was a bit oversensitive. I'm sure they sent her home with an aloe cream shortly after her visit and didn't even admit her. The nurses are very skilled and professional and do a great job and pay attention to detail! I would very much recommend this place for laser hair removal... Too bad they no longer offer the lifetime packages!
