Call 7 times and they are still unable to send me my authorizations submitted in April, it is now July, I asked for a Supervisor, they said she would call back, I am still waiting. People please don't select Preferred Health Network/Medpoint very sorry for an IPA.

I just want to acknowledge the rep whom I spoke with today Janine M. She works in the customer service department and went above and beyond to try to get the urgent help I needed to ensure a patient gets their medication Asap. I commend her for her GREAT customer service and willingness to help a patient in urgent need. Thank You Janine ( hope I spelled your name right)

Ruth, who handles my insurance plan, does an amazing job at MedPoint Management. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have been able to have an important cancer surgery. I can't thank her enough for her skills in managing my five different doctors and keeping them all happy under one umbrella. And it's a pleasure talking to her on the phone. She's the best!

Stop. Stay far away from Medpoint. If you signed up for LA Care Health insurance & are under a doctor who is part of medpoint mgmt, who supervises your health insurance, drop them and switch to a dr under UCLA. Medpoint is garbage and will stall, give you the run around for authorizations.
switch to something more reliable. Find a doctor under UCLA Health:

The lady I spoke to could not have been any kinder. She was patient and tried to be as helpful as possible which I appreciated greatly. The problem is they have no specialists near by in their network so I was not able to get a much needed appointment. Most of the doctors in the network are not very good, or very professional (which is of course not Medpoints fault) They tried to help me and that is what counts even though I got no where.

If you enjoy getting the runaround, you'll love this company. I phoned to check on a claim, followed the phone cues for the claims department, listened to ten minutes of music before being told the claims department was closed. The "open" hours were then recited, and I was calling exactly in the middle of their "open" morning hours! Of course the less time and attention they pay to the claims they receive (and to inquiries regarding the claims), the less money they have to pay out. Ultimate conflict of interest...borders on fraud.

This place is awful! the staff are temp employees who make less than minimum wage. They treat people like garbage. They cancel appointments last minute. Lie lie lie. they leave you out in the cold and try and get you involved in their internal affiars. Its a damn shame when the patient faces the consequences of insurance unwilling to pay the amounts on time and shameful for a doctors office to cancel the day before with no explanation and no offer to reschedule. just wait around for 3 months and they call the day before to cancel. referring me to call MEd point. Med point is the insurance company they are trying to use the patients to help get them paid. this is unethical . they have they coward doctor who wont answer the phone you can hear him whisper to Liz what to say on the phone. The most unprofessional disgusting doctors office in Los Angeles County.

I wish my doctor had more contracts, so that I could get referrals within a functioning IPA. Every single open enrollment, I try to find another option. It takes a very long time to resolve issues. They want the patients to do the leg work for finding physicians and liaise with the doctor's office. It can take many phone calls for the most basic services. You may hold 5 minutes just to get a person. There are very few and very low quality specialists. Good luck!
