God forbid you or someone in your family needs an ambulance ride, pray that the ambulance service that picks you up is not MedEx. They charge exorbitant rates (I get it, our entire healthcare system is totally screwed), and then they employ ruthless, insensitive collection tactics. We have been caught between them and our insurance company for the past 6 months, and in spite of regular communication between all parties involved, they have harassed us via phone and mail throughout the process, including calling us on holidays, threatening collections, etc. Like I said, I understand that our healthcare and insurance systems are inefficient and broken, but every other provider we have dealt with has been compassionate, patient and understanding. Except MedEx. They are ruthless, insensitive and despicable.
