I have been giving platelets for about 8 years. It is rewarding to know that you truly are saving lives. The folks at Medic are caring professionals who will take good care of you. I have come to know many of them and look forward to seeing them each time I visit. So come on and join us! You never know, you may save someone's life, even someone close to you.

I have been donating blood to the Medic Regional Blood Center at multiple locations such as their blood donor vehicle my churches, a local civic centers, etc. since the late 1970's. It has always been a good experience as the staff are good at what they do, very pleasant to be around, and they are always well set-up to do the job effectively.

This morning it was rather bad. I came in and told them that my time was short and was told that they'd get me in and out quickly. Then they proceeded to ignore me. I hung around for some time but eventually it sunk in that their sense of time did not match mine and I had to leave. This visit was prompted by an email saying they had a serious need of my blood type. So much for "serious".

I am a regular donor. Thru all my donations I have never had a bad experience. On two occasions I was actually made aware of a couple if health issues such as low iron etc. The fact you come to my workplace in my town makes it convenient to donate. Thank you for the service you provide.

The staff at Medic is wonderful. They are always laughing and making jokes at the mobile donation locations. I have donated multiple times at their main location on Ailor ave as well as at their convienient mobile locations. Giving blood is a great and (nearly) painless way to give back.

I've been donating whole blood and red blood cells through MEDIC since moving to the Knoxville area in 1996. The staff at the Ailor Avenue and Farragut locations are always friendly and do all they can to get you in and out when time is a factor. This is a way I can donate to a good cause without having to spend a lot of money, and you know your donation will be used for the right purposes. I recruit new donors every chance I get and hope everyone will try donating.

I have been giving to Medic since 1969 what GOD has given to me freely to help those that are in need of blood product and have not missed it a bit. Medic employees have always been very cordial to me. I have had to decrease my trips to because of vein problems, I hope to give again soon. There is always a need for blood product and I encourage everyone to give if possible.(527 times)

I have been a Medic Donor since 1998, most of the time donating blood at the mobile units in the various cities where I work. I have also donated at the Regional Blood Center when there is an urgent call-out for blood donations during the holidays. The staff at both the mobile units and at Regional have been very courteous and thankful for the donation. The staff at Regional has been especially nice to those donating platelets, taking care of people's need during the longer donation times. It has always been a good experience at the Medic units, and the staff have always been appreciative of people helping others by donating blood.

I look forward to donating blood numerous times per year in that it is a great cause and a special gift to someone in need. Whether at a Medic Bloodmobile or at the Medic HQ, the entire staff is well trained, very efficient and quite hospitable. Keep up the level of excellence that has been a long standing tradition.

I had the privilege of first donating blood with Medic back in 1983, first whole blood then with the Alyx machine. In 2009 I switched and became a platelet donor. In all my experiences, the staff at both the Farragut office and the main office have always been so appreciative, friendly and compassionate. The biggest impact on me was when Medic graciously invited the platelet donors to the Knoxville Zoo one Saturday a few years ago. Besides feeding us a nice BBQ lunch and handing out plaques of appreciation, a young family (husband, wife, daughter and son) was there. The parents got up and explained that their daughter had a rare disease/illness such that she routinely needed platelet infusions and quite literally, without them, she would not be with us. Their emotional story made me realize how lucky I was to be on the giving end and really drove home how important Medic is for our community.

I have been a Medic donor for over 30 years. My first donation was my first week at work. A coworker stopped by my office to encourage me to be a donor. He was headed that way, so I tagged along since he knew the process. I donated whole blood every quarter at work until I became a platelet donor. The Medic staff are top-shelf!

This is the first place I started donating blood, and I don't plan on going anywhere else anytime soon. The staff are always very professional and courteous. They make sure to check on you and ask if you need anything. First time I ever donated: As soon as the needle was in, I started getting hot and light headed. I informed the nurse and before I even finished getting the words out, two others appeared. One with a fan to cool me off, and one with a cup full of cola, to level out my light headedness. Seems like everything else is pretty textbook blood donation. Just follow the advice they give you on the website and in your confirmation email and everything will be fine (eat a good meal; hydrate; don't do anything strenuous afterwards; etc.) Only bruised once so far, but it goes away in a few days. No biggie

I love donating with Medic. I have been doing so for nearly 20 years. I am not a rich man so I cannot give out a lot of money to people in need. I am however, able to donate my blood. Donating with Medic is the way to go. They treat you right and you are donating for a good cause!

Giving blood is a family tradition. I remember going with Dad when he gave blood back in the 50s. I was along to have a cookie. Medic makes it easy to give blood via the bloodmobile and their local offices. I encourage everyone to join in. Easy and a way to help your community.

The main office on Ailor avenue is great. I use the ALYX machines there to donate a double portion, and the staff is very professional. I have used the bloodmobile in the past, and the staff there is good too, but it is a little more rushed. I am deeply saddened to see the negative reviews. Remember, when giving blood they always have to ask very personal questions, and there are always possible complications, even if it is not your first time.

The Medic Blood Center provides an invaluable service to East Tennessee by connecting donors and recipients to insure a safe and sufficient blood supply. Always friendly, always professional, and always supportive, the staff of Medic exceeds expectations. The staff treats everyone with respect and dignity. They stick with kindness. I ve been giving blood at Medic for over 25 years. I never go anywhere else.

i have found that sometimes the staff can be rude but that's an individual issue more than it is a facility issue. some of the staff are extreamly polite and helpful. The facility itself and the equipment is clean and open and they offer you snacks and drinks. For the most part I've always had a good experience when donating with medic. And I like that they have the donation bus that drives around to different locations so I have different options on when and where to donate.

There is no life without blood. When I donate I think of the lives that Medic is saving all over our area. I have been a Super Donor for years. In all my time of giving, I have never had a negative experience from any of the medical or administrative staff at the Medic centers or on the mobile units. I rate them five stars in all areas for friendliness and professional conduct. I plan on giving blood with Medic as long as I can lay on the table!

I give blood regularly and the folks at Medic make it an easy process. The staff is professional and they value my time that I volunteer to give blood. I talk to family and friends that give blood in other parts of the country and they are always jealous of the benefits that Medic gives towards their donors like t-shirts, coupons, tickets, mugs, etc...Keep up the good work Medic!

In 1978 I happened to see a Blood Mobile and stepped in to give. I had no idea that within a year I would be the recipient of 3 pints. My husband and I became regular givers. The staff is great, and they can find a vein when others can't. About 10 years ago, I again was the recipient of 3 pints. Thank you Medic, for being there when you are needed.
